I also like to play the most non human race a game offers as a male. In TES I am however not very impressed with the Argonian or Khajiit since they are just too human. If Khajiths were more like GW2 Charr I would have played them exclusively as males.
I do not like playing anything that resembles me even though I usually can get pretty close of making a lookalike. Even worse if they remember of someone I know. And human guy PCs start to annoy me most of the time at some point.
Oh and if the game has burly dwarfs I do go male.
Lol afraid to do the romance options?

Well I did go all the way with Garrus as a female.
...and I would have done it with a male also...
I am a male playing a male. I also believe the stereotype about "most female characters are either fat, heinous or men" is true. I also wonder how your post would have read if you had separated gender by Cysnogenic and Tranny. That would shed more light on the results.
I could support Account Bound Gender (even better if hooked to your identity but that will be another few years). Some games already do have that, and I have always found the idea of a person posing as a member of the other gender to be tasteless and creepy.

ThisIf I'm going to be staring at a backside for a few hours every night, I want it to be a woman’s backside.
Agree , second I never play humans, WOW: dranei and worgen, TES elves or khajiit.FrauPerchta wrote: »I have male and female characters. But have to say if I am going to be seeing a butt swish around on my screen for 4+ hours/day I prefer female butts

Male playing female isn't always about sexualizing it. I can respect the closer you are to the character the more you can identify/ be immersed. But Its like people trying to say they have to have an attractive backside to look at the whole time, and others thinking every one who plays other gender is doing it for such reasons.

Really? Another thread like this? Every game has this thread and there will be another new one in 4 months. There's no psychology paper behind it and the whole see the backside crap is bs. That's guys covering for the real issues: you're channeling your female side and who cares? That's not abnormal. Are you all new to gaming? This thread is 20 years old.
Playing as the opposite sex dont mean crap. If it bothers you, you're most likely a stuffy, shallow, sheltered individual. If you do it, you're not weird.
Go google this topic and read the millions of threads already about it.

If one is going for all those aspects that are different from oneself, then what is the difference in playing the opposite gender?
I mostly play my own gender as it very hard to do a very realistic portrayal of the other gender but all kudos to those that do pull it off well. For the same reason I stick to various cultures of humans for the most part but really appreciate those that can give a decent portrayal of other species.
Thanks for pointing out that I sexualize everything. It is good to know.JosephChip wrote: »Male playing male here. Two reasons:

Now isn't the time for the debate. The difference is that we all know nobody here has dragon wings, but we are either male or female. Imagine a white person who declares "I am hereby transracially black."
I do hate the use of the word "Toon" it really sounds red neck.
