ETA

But they told us at 12:30PM EST that it'd be a few more hours, so if you don't revolve your life around a video game, what are you doing trying to schedule everything around it?

Check back around 2 or 3. What is so hard about that to understand? That's an ETA if i have ever seen one. Worse comes to worse, its not ready and we check back later.

I don't know how old you are, but from where i'm from, rain doesn't hinder me of doing things, if anything id take that rain and use my four wheeler to go outside and rip around in some trails, but that is just me.

You couldn't maybe drive a vehicle (if you were old enough) to maybe go out and do something?

I don't know how old YOU are but not everyone is privileged enough to own a 4 wheeler or have the space in which to ride one. Not everyone has the ability to just go outside regardless of the weather conditions. Gas in a vehicle isn't free and I'm not one to frivolously go spend money just to kill time especially not when to get anywhere to do anything I'm looking at a 30 minute drive minimum cause I live in a tiny town.

I'm 31 with a teenage stepdaughter that lives with my husband and I. In about 20 minutes I will picking her up from school, getting her home, helping with homework if need be, getting her fed, and making sure dinner ready for my husband when he gets home from work since right now he is working a ton of overtime. Immediately after that I'll be shuttling my stepdaughter to junior olympic volleyball practice which is almost an hour away where I will wait 3 hours for her to be done and then drive her home.

THAT'S what I schedule my life around. Three nights a week of practice and tournaments every other weekend that take us all over the country.

Scheduling play time because I enjoy the game doesn't mean my life revolves around it. What it does mean is that because it is something I enjoy I make time for it especially considering there is a monthly fee. "A few hours" is non-specific and around 2 or 3 the time I set aside to play is gone. So excuse the hell outta me for wanting to have a little time to myself to play a game I enjoy and then being irritated when the company I pay money to for that game provides unsatisfactory customer service in relation to the ETA.

Wow, man. You want them to apologize? Read your Terms. These can take as long as they want… they can do as many as they want… whenever they want…
all you can do is decide not to pay them anymore.

Well that… and/or post 3 paragraphs of righteous judgement and a list of demands I guess.

It's their first major content update. It's patch day anyway.

    And it's just a game.

    Chill.

Its not what they say its how they say it. I was merely providing a more professional way for them to address their customers. When you tell a group of people that something will take four hours then come back 4 1/2 hours later and say nope its going to be another few hours a small apology isn't a lot to ask for ToS or not. Its common courtesy towards your customers. I could give a crap if maintenance takes a week so long as there is some sort of public and polite communication on it.

Making suggestions isn't demanding something... maybe you should take reading comprehension class before you get all judgmental about someones opinion. I have well over 10 years of experience working in customer service. Something informal and casual like "We're currently looking at a few more hours for today's North American megaserver downtime, folks." would be the kind of answer that would get someone fired in most service jobs.
