Someone needs to file a class action lawsuit

I spent 95 dollars on this garbage. I don't mind losing 95 dollars but it's the principal of the thing. I have been around for many games and many MMO's and I don't care who says what. This is the worst MMO opening ever. They can't even get rid of the bots. Then they spam on the forums that you need to report the bots in game, bla bla bla. You can't even report them anymore because they are warping and flying all over the place.

Secondly, when did it become a job to play a game. You spend more time dealing with bots and reporting that the game is now a chore.

Now I'm getting e-mails from gold spammers from this website. They are posting in my ESO mailbox and then it gets forwarded to my personal e-mail. I canceled my sub and I was done then I checked my personal mail and there was some gold seller e-mail. What a joke.

If someone starts a class action lawsuit I'm in. I know it's probably a waste of time but you know someone somewhere will do it. For me as a gamer this is the worst gaming experience I have ever had with a game. Even if they cleaned it up at this point I wouldn't come back. They have shown by their actions that they don't care about us.

    way to overreact

the bots are being dealt with, sorry it's not to your satisfaction, but filing a class action lawsuit against who? zenimax? even though you can still play the game and largely ignore the bots is just silly

if you want to file a lawsuit against anyone, make it against the botters who ruined the game for everybody - zenimax included.

or make it against the people that buy the gold that the bots farm.

You go do that. Make sure you bring a video camera so we can see when they throw you to the curb.

This will never happen, although my expieience has made me think of this same thing. In an interview with The Examiner.com Matt Firor said “The Elder Scrolls Online is all about having a premium experience; from gameplay to customer service. So yes, we planned on having premium customer support from the beginning of the project, and put a lot of emphasis on best-in-class service.” sadly things will most likely not get anybetter for a while regardless of promises made at this point they seem to care more about the money you spent purchasing the game then they actually care about the customer who purchased it.

You cannot sue them. You agreed to the EULA when you installed the game. Trust me, they are very protected against this type of thing. I HATE the bots but you just can't sue over something like this. Most MMO's have a rough start. And trust me. I'm not ''fanboi'ing''. If you see my post history, I've told Zeni that their best for taking care of the bots sucks! Still, forget a lawsuit. Not gonna happen. MMO's all have their issues and aren't perfect. It's a game. You could try to get your money back but it likely won't happen.

As for getting emails, it's because you have the option ticked off to get that stuff forwarded from ESO forum to your private email. They don't have your email (the bots). Go to your account options and you can turn it off.

I understand your frustration. I'm not saying any of this is a rude or passive-aggressive tone, etc. I do hope that you find a game that makes you happy. Also, you can try for that refund. Likely won't get it but nothing to lose if you don't try, right? My tip is to not threaten and talk about lawsuits, etc. They will definitely just laugh and deny your refund for sure. Be polite and explain why you'd like a refund. You likely won't get it as I said. Sorry but they don't have to offer refunds. If they do, it's because someone felt nice...

Class action lawsuit because you are receiving forum notifications to your email? Or because the bots bullied you and ZMO did nothing?

I though this was about the double-charges matter, wich could have a point, but it seems the only point here is to make me roflmao.

just know if you bought it from a retailer, you might be SOL, cuz they dont like to give refunds AT ALL!

If you made the double billing thing the main purpose of the suit and piled all the other stuff underneath it, you probably could have a case.

Relistically people this thread will most likely be closed if not removed by a moderator I am sure it violates a code of conduct. That being said if one was started ZOS has enough money they could keep the case in court for years.

In the grand spectrum of all the games ever made, is this really that far towards the bottom of the list in terms of quality that you would spend a ton of money on lawyers to get your 95 dollars back? Because that is so much money, it makes me weep to think I might have blown it. you can spend more taking your family to a two hour movie... Can I sue the film studio or the movie theater for my 12 bucks because I didn't like the 10 minutes of commercials before the movie, or the terrible plot?

Just pretend the bots are ghosts and hurl the occasional arrow or spell at them to reinforce the playacting. The amount of time spent posting these useless, unconstructive complaints on a forum could be better spent cancelling your sub and going back out to a lemonade stand to try and earn your money back.

I think we should sue Ferrero Inc. Because there are plenty of nuts in every jar of Nutella but I can't ever find a single "ella" in it.

Ya. Retailers will usually offer insurance on games (if it breaks or etc for a while like 30 days) but NEVER on an MMO because it's a constantly evolving product and you agree to a EULA which basically states that your only right if you're unhappy is to complain or cancel.

This topic has been brought up previously (during the first couple of weeks after ESO launch), and I commented then that a class action lawsuit would likely go nowhere:
    1. Remember that we all agreed to the TOS boilerplate, which basically absolves ZOS of just about everything we complain about. While boilerplate is generally frowned upon and doesn't hold up well, I'd be really surprised if ZOS/Bethsoft wouldn't simply bleed any plaintiffs who would actually try and sue (motions to dismiss/summary judgment, etc.). And they'll do this irrespective of "merit". So you'd better have a bunch of spare cash to fund the lawyers if you want to play this way ...
    2. I don't see any class action firm/attorney touching a case like this with a pitchfork, if even to beat it. There's no money in it for them, even if won. Yes, you could toss in all sorts of mental anguish stuff in the suit, but I'd be shocked if those sorts of claims could be substantiated across a "class".
    3. At best, if this sort of suit proceeded on the merits (skeptical, see above), ZOS/Bethsoft would likely settle at a pittance. What would each of us get? Enough for a RL coffee, possibly. Or a vanity pet of a dancing lawyer monkey to follow us around in-game.
    4. This situation is more of a PR/marcomm issue to ZOS/Bethsoft, IMHO. I'd be shocked if they didn't laugh at the word "lawsuit". That said, getting a bunch of negative press from IGN, Joystiq, Kotaku ... I'd say they'd be more concerned about this sort of thing. Now that the initial reviews are in, the question is whether ZOS even cares about press coverage (well, maybe they're looking to get more positive reviews with the Craglorn release).
Just my $0.02 (class action winnings), I could be wrong.

not really cus that more of an issue between the communication of banks as the billing department. Banks could be blocking cuz they see the preauth and charge as a double charge and thus fraud. The banks could be just blocking the transactions. It is VERY unusual if the money is actually sent off in this case. most of the time it's not a double charge, but just your bank placing money in a hold. If anyone did have their stuff legitimately double charged, they are in a very small minority

Tell you what. You go pay for a consultation with a lawyer, and let us know what exactly they say about the possibility of a class action suit for this.

    I'll wait here.

Perhaps they'll settle out of court for the jute you lost or the emotional trauma of not getting to farm the boss yourself...

    Give me a break...

They're exploits...people find them, developers fix them... It's how it goes.

Compare how it is to how it was, even a month ago and you'll see that they've made huge strides forward and will continue to do so.

They're out there, but they don't impeded everything there is to do every single place...Find somewhere else to go (in game or IRL...either is fine) and give them a chance to fix it...
Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

IRL'ing for a while for assorted reasons, in forum, and in game.
I am neither warm, nor fuzzy...

If you are spending that much time reporting bots, stop. Go play the game. This game is amazing and once the bugs are fixed it's going to be epic. Just try to be patient and ignore the bots. They steal herbs from me often but I just go find another. They really don't impact people as much as they claim.
