Forum Posts Not Updating? OR Being 'sunk' on purpose ?

Ok, for some reason my forum posts are not updating? I've replied/commented on a couple of posts but they haven't updated (just remained on page x...)

@Moderators is this common, or maybe something weird connected to the PM disablement??

Kind of hard to engage in a conversation, if nobody knows I'm engaging in a conversation !

I've had that before, seems to affect only certain threads...maybe they nerfed the thread (so it sinks and they never see the topic again). Like a sneaky way to effectively lock a thread without appearing to go fascist on it.

Some of the threads have been moved to other forums, might be that.

Have to admit I did think that myself. But the thread I was most concerned about was one where I had been reporting bots, screenshot evidence etc. (considering how much this would be helping Zenimax I hope it isn't a form of censorship)

WTF ! Then I guess it really is correct that zeni are not actually seeking to stop the whole botting/gold selling thing. Why sink a thread that is blatantly helping to combat this problem.
Mind you, considering how many I'd managed to catch/report in a short time it did make them look incompetent !

EDIT, I am furious at the possibility that such an important topic may have been 'sunk' ! ! !

You aren't actually "blatantly" helping anyone. You're breaking the CoC (naming and shaming) report them in game, not the forum.

I am fairly certain you are right. There are somethreads they don't seem to move up no matter how much you comment.

Yup, they used to do this I'm the beta forums too. I find it is absurd and if they think something needs moderation to do so, not just sink things they dislike or don't want to close for whatever reason. This was happening in the PTS forums to feedback threads as well.

And the reason I post that is because I had hoped after it was last brought to light they would atop doing it. It hasn't been restricted to conduct violations but plain feedback too in the past.

these proven over and over again that they don't care about their customers.the only thing they seem to be concerned with is the money that they can get from as many Chumps as possible. after they have our money they don't really need us anymore now do they.

Been happening that way from the get-go. Things that can be construed, or blatant violations of the forum rules are deleted & or closed.

Things they don't like, are sunk.

This is done more often than not, and that's a big problem, cause if a thread has important information in one post but the thread itself is sunk, everything goes sunk, including that one important post.

@Phantax, sometimes I agree with the things you post, but really--you're surprised/outraged/nonplussed that you created the 1,000,000th bot related post on the Customer Support forum and it got sunk?

I understand that whenever we hit "Post Comment", we're likely sure that what we have to say is important. Sometimes it isn't. Especially if it's redundant. When forum goers make several similar threads instead of posting in a single related thread, it pushes new and emerging posts that may cover different issues to page 2 and beyond.

If you think I'm just being mean, go back through the pages and count every post with the word bot in the title--there are too many.

@Sidereal but surely the point of a forum is that, unless you are breaking rules, the 'value' of your thread or post is decided by the number of other forum users who respond to your post and keep it alive. It is for us to decide not for the mods to sneakily do so in the background - they should have the courage of their convictions & moderate openly not act like sneaky little <fill in banned word of your choice here>.

Personally I think bots and the lack of action being taken (for example I have reported the same set of bots repeatedly for over a week and nothing has happened at all) is well worth mention as often as it takes to force them to solve the problem, if they don't want threads about it they should try to solve it not try to slyly censor it.

This isn't Reddit, posts that have the most recent reply are up top, not the most popular. Now if they go ahead and sink duplicate topic threads, I'm okay with that. Really, there's nothing but speculation between that they can/do sink threads and the reason why as well as how often they do so.

Exactly my point, if that IS being changed on the sly to quickly get rid of inconvenient topics rather than solving them that is a very poor reflection on the attitude of ZOS towards problems in game.

The posts that stay at the top forever are rarely someone requesting help. They're usually massive threads filled with complaining and very little help or details from the player. I don't blame them for sinking threads.
