Tbagging should not be a bannable offense

Just a psa, you can get banned for emotes as well. I have a friend that can't be named per tos for forum posts that had this happen. He stood over their body and did the kiss this emote, 3 day ban.

Uh oh, I better stop using /kissthis after someone spams profanity at me when they die to siege and call me a fake PvPer for the 100th time. I thought that was the purpose of the emote.

I think the real issue here is not why bagging needs to be in the game, thats not what I am saying, Zos could remove the croutch animation tomorrow and I wouldn't care. What the whole point of this thread is about is that people should not be banned for it period. Its just giving a weapon to angry people who can't not take things personally and should not be listened to when it comes to deciding who can and can't play ESO

    Not anymore, I guess.

What's funny is that when I first started reading this thread, I would have said it should not result in being banned...

WELL. After reading this thread, I'm team keep tbagging a bannable offense. Seriously, nothing here is helping the OPs argument.

Yeah I got a bit lost in the sauce I think with some of it especially for how it would read in a forum format. I think the real issue and thing im trying to say is this:

Honestly most games historically did not ban people for this. ESO was one of the more infamous and first I've heard of doing so. Even trying to google about other games doing this leads to hits for ESO lol. So I think there is just a surprise and disconnect especially if you played other games where no one cares and then get banned here.

It’s fascinating how people are talking about the sensitivity of others for reporting people and being “triggered”; and yet, this is a thread started because someone got in their feelings over someone else getting banned because they *checks notes* broke the rules ZOS set in their video game and incurred consequences.

Seriously, why even teabag people multiple times after they ask/tell you to stop? Does it really enhance the game that much for people?

Absolutely no one forbids a player to do that with their friends whom they know find it funny too. It's only treated as a TOS breach if a player has stated in chat that they don't want it, but the person still doesn't stop. Continuing to mudball someone if they have said stop is treated exactly the same way. It's not in particular about the exact type of action, the part that's forbidden is bothering a player with behavior they have verbally disagreed with.

Except the damage incurred from someone teabagging you is nothing while the damage incurred by being banned is multiple thousands of hours and dollars all deleted. Please don't try and equate those two things because its not comparable and this thread was made in hopes to spark change in Zos regarding the issue.

He had a history of bagging prior so im sure that maybe played a roll in it. Its very silly though. They do a very poor job of consistently handing out punishment and it seems to be geared toward people they decide they don't like lol. I liked using it in battlegrounds when people just hid on their spawns.

Quick clarifying question: has someone been permabanned for teabagging with no prior history of disciplinary action? That would be excessive, barring some heinous aggravating factors.

This goes back to FAFO. It takes a few warnings before a ban unless it's a very serious offense.

The people that enjoy teabagging in this thread have really shined a light on the toxicity of some of the pvp community and have put some ideas into others' heads about what pvp is really like. Great job! Best way to get people wanting to pvp!

what about people who have all communications turned off? Do they just get banned? Should they have to constantly check their email? Its just not worth enforcing the bag rule because it differs from the mudball as well in that it doesn't effect your character at all and is only when you die in game and just means less players on ESO and is contributing to this game dying

And there's the disconnect. What is just joking around for some is "toxic" to others.

Also this doesn't make all that much sense, as your protective rules banning tbagging exist here and have for a while. Has to be other barriers to entry than fear of that.

Its not about wanting to bag, its that it should not be bannable. Please stop projecting your feelings on us and making it out like there is something heinous behind it. There is not. Its simply competition and zos does not need to be refereeing in a video game

Unfortunately, they do need to referee because of the childish antics of a bunch of manchildren. Or maybe still children, who knows.

I don't care if I get bagged, nor will I ever report for it, but if it bothers others, and they have asked you to stop and you don't, that's ALL on you. Grow up.

At the end of the day, I doubt the rule here will change. My main issue is with people who like to weaponize victimhood and use this rule solely to ban people's accounts over small things people used to just deal with in a pvp setting. I find that far more toxic than tbagging ever was. it is what it is. Sorry you lost your friend.

Basically the title. Have you played any game ever that had multiplayer? Then bagging has occurred and its not something worth crying over much less being banned. "Oh no, that player's pixel crouched up and down over my body" is not some sort of assault on your person. There is no reason to ban people for bagging other than being the stereotypical reddit mod. Its more hateful and does far more damage to ban someone's account all because they bagged someone in-game. Alls it does is fuels greater hate, more harm, more targeting, and more toxicity. Get rid of this terrible, poorly thought out, emotion filled and logicless rule out of our game. Bagging is part of video game culture and it will forever be part of ESO whether you ban or not, it just sucks for the people who are blindsided by having years of their game time and monetary investment ripped away all because they bagged someone and that someone complained and reported it.

The people who report others for bagging just want to weaponize this awful rule as a way to hurt others! You are literally enabling a much worse problem! Get rid of it! And reinstate every account banned for bagging!

The problem you're having in this thread is that you're not talking about "people" being banned for t-bagging. You're talking about YOU being banned for t-bagging and you're upset about it. You're trying to say that you should have the right to be as offensive as you decide to be at any given time and you shouldn't be punished for it. That doesn't work. Accept responsibility for your actions and stop being a jerk. Easy.

T-bagging is NOT against the ToS and people aren't banned for it. What people are banned for is for griefing, stalking, harassing and otherwise being a jerk. And ZOS doesn't ban anyone without video evidence. They don't take anyones word for anything, so people banned for t-bagging have a history of obnoxious behavior and probably deserve the involuntary vacation.

This is really simple. Don't be a jerk. Be polite.

@JavaRen You dont just get permabanned instantly. You get two warnings first. Then 72h ban for the third offence. I am at this point now. And from here i assume 4th offence will be another 72h ban. And 5th offence will actually be a permaban. This is my intuition. Basically anything you do on a corpse. Tbagging or using emotes.

Look, its obvious you have a problem with it and don't like it, which I can understand. But being able to report people and ban them is being weaponized by people who themselves do it too. Its weaponized victimhood over something that shouldn't be bannable. I would have no problem not emoting or crouching on someone if they told me they didn't like it and asked if i would please stop. But thats not how people are using it, they are using from the outset with the express intent to ban people as a revenge tactic because their ego was damaged, not because they genuinely found it disturbing. And I don't think bagging is even something that should bother anyone, but if it did, that shouldn't mean all these other bad actors get this weapon to abuse.

Hope that explains my position better and I hope you have a wonderful week:)
