Tbagging should not be a bannable offense

It would be nice if players didn't feel the need to rub anything in someone else's face after defeating them in combat. Especially when it mimics doing an offensive action such as tbagging. Isn't being victorious satisfaction enough?

I agree, but I don't think people should be banned for doing it

Has ZOS's official position changed on this? Historically they have not considered it actionable per se. They consider it actionable when you ignore someone's request to stop and repeat the unwanted action despite that request, the same way they consider it harassment to continue to mudball someone after you've been asked to stop.

I think its still the same but Im not really sure. Would be easy to be deceptive in the report I would think though to get people banned whether or not they did it after or before you asked them to stop. Its also not widely known. I know of no other game that has bagging as a bannable offense in any shape or form at all. I think at the least they should notify all players of this as it is not readily known and a major part of gaming culture whether anyone likes it or not. That said I wish it wasn't bannable at all no matter what

I also think banning is too harsh, unless they've been warned many times repeatedly and still do it.

I wish they would just change the crouching animation somehow so it doesn't look like the action it is mimicking.

First time, someone told me to stop, and i didnt stop. Then i got a warning and learned that when someone tells you to stop tbagging you have to stop. Which i thought really weird thing in a PvP game. But ok.

Then got even weirder. I was in Offline Mode just not to talk with people. Then i got another warning at some point. Then they said it doesnt matter if i am in Offline Mode. It is ok if they try to whisper me and record it. Even weirder.

And the 3rd time was a 72h ban i think i forgot myself in Offline Mode.

That is why now i am checking to make sure i am in Online Mode and my Ignored List is empty before tbagging.

What is it that you get out of tbagging that warrants so many checks every time? What is it so attractive to you that you prefrer so much inconvenience over not doing it at all?

I would put to you that reporting, and the banning of players for bagging is childish. Its not good for ESO in any way to remove players for something so meaningless

It's a reaction some people have to childish/toxic/senseless behavior.

I'm still curious what the need/addiction to rubbing your pixelated *** on someone stems from?

Yeah, its a childish reaction some have over childish behavior.

Its not rubbing anything on anyone. You're looking way too much into it. Its just crouching up and down.

Now i am checking my ignored list and if i am in online mode every time before i start tbagging. I am at the edge of a permaban, got multiple warnings and bans because of tbagging. And tbagging is the only offence that i got a warning for in ESO in 10 years.

There are some players that i really would love to put on ignored list since they hate whisper me at every possibility. But i just cant ignore people for prolonged time because if i were to tbag them they just record acting like they are trying to whisper me to stop and report me. Got most of my warnings and 72h ban because i was in Offline Mode while tbagging.

Thats just ridiculous. people are using the reports as a vessel for worse toxicity. These are the kind of people who would doxx and swat you if they had that info. We should not be enabling this kind of toxic behavior with the report system over something so pointless as crouching up and down in a video game. Thats just pathetic behaviour to hate someone that much because they beat you in a video game

Tbagging > Gameplay. What is even point of PvP ing when you are not going to tbag the hell out of your opponent's corpse after the fight ends? I would rather get a permaban than stopping tbagging forever.

Which is more childish? Tbagging or getting so triggered by receiving tbags on your screen that you take time to report other players with the hope of landing them a ban so that they wont be able to play the game again? Which one sound more immature?

Like you can actually get permabanned for tbagging and that is maybe after just 3 or 4 offences. Crazy if you think about it.

Why do you have the need to ban someone's entire account for crouching up and down on your character in a video game? I don't think thats very mature. Do you think they should be banned for killing you as well?

Being tbagged can make some players uncomfortable. Not tbagging another player does not have a single negative effect for the player that chooses not to do it. So why not just stop?

My thoughts exactly. These people act like we're immature but they are the ones over here wanting to completely ban anyone that they disagree with for winning in a video game

I honestly think people are just too sensitive these days. Something like crouching pixils makes people unreasonably upset IMO.

However, as someone not offended by this whatsoever given I'm used to PvP games, I did once whisper someone who T-Bagged me "Please do not T-Bag me. It's really offensive and I don't want to report you." It really set them off which I got a laugh out of.

No, I had no intentions of reporting for that but it was good for a chuckle. They were playing a DK and 2-shot me with whips so it's not like they accomplished anything to be proud of enough to T-Bag me so I don't feel bad about it.

Well, its not me who was banned but a guildie and this sparked me to start this thread in hopes that the new feedback driven Zos will just get rid of this rule altogether. They might not listen, or they may Idk, I just want to stop seeing destruction of people's accounts all because childish people complained to Zos because they thought what happens in game is somehow real - when in reality they just have anger issues and can't disassociate from reality and video game and want to do real world harm to that person. Thats what i want Zos to stop enabling, the real world harm

Just a psa, you can get banned for emotes as well. I have a friend that can't be named per tos for forum posts that had this happen. He stood over their body and did the kiss this emote, 3 day ban.

For a moment I imagined a chess game ending and the winner jumping on the loser and shoving their crotch and/or rear into the loser's face. Sounds utterly brainless and ridiculous? It is. And in gaming it looks just as ridiculous to me, "normal" (=habitual) or not.

    Just my 2 cents.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. I couldn't care less if someone gets banned for teabagging. If they get banned, they've already been warned, most likely several times.

FAFO is what they call it these days, I think?

Yeah idk why emotes are wrong too its just all so dumb and tiresome and not worth Zos's time to inject themselves into these player v player spats. Like just stick to working on the game unless someone is literally stalking you in game and just following constantly and creeping on you, leave people alone!

Coming from someone who used to lay down the bag, I was being toxic. Banning of t-bagging will weed out the bad apples. The game has a better outlet for people who want to talk smack anyhow, it's called Tales of Tribute.

I didn't claim it to be. I said that to me, personally, that behavior feels useless and stupid, no matter where it happens. I mean: What does it signify? Why is there a need for it? I can't think of any context where it suddenly starts to make sense.

You know, I don't usually PvP in ESO. I did once and the guy who defeated me saluted afterwards. It made me think "cool honorable guy". Teabagging? Makes me think "clown". It's everyone's own decision of course what impression they want to leave.

Hypothetical: a player uses a derogatory slur in chat with zero ill intent, none at all. After being warned and continuing to do so they receive a ban (probably temporary). How do you feel about this? If you have a different answer for this than for t-bagging, why the difference?

Gaming culture used to be different. People (women too I played with) used to get online, say stupid stuff to each other, T-Bag, and no one was emotionally scarred by it. We know it was stupid but it was fun.

Now we have essays about how t-bagging is the same thing as actual RL violence and people can't really handle joking around in PVP in this way anymore.

except thats not whats happening at all. This is a false analogy. Its like someone winning a chess game and dancing their queen over the dead king or something. Sometimes being immature can be fun. We are playing video games, afterall, not sitting in a board room.

    Not anymore, I guess.
