They are just following the trend that happened when DK rework was released. In these same patch so much power was put into one class they took power out of the others. It's really a strange "balancing" act.

If PvE DK sucks so much, maybe ZOS shouldn't have nerfed DoTs into uselessness because of PvPers that couldn't slot purge.

On that note, bring back DoTs! PvP needs them back. And I don't just mean status effects.

Dots were nerfed because PvErs could keep up with the uptimes. Not because of PvP

Purge costs half your magicka bar and removes what 3 effects. I can light attack someone and apply 5 negative effects before any skill use even.
Also, dks have the best DoTs in the game claw does at base double the damage of other single target dots.
The fact that most dks don't even run it in pvp should tell you how broken the rest of their kit is.

First off, only two classes have access to purge: Templar which CAN purge up to 5 negative effects, not just DoTs. Warden can purge 1 effect. Then there is the Alliance War purge, which is insanely expensive and has no been run, by anyone, for nearly 10 years....

When you are in AvA Cyrodiil, or even BGs, you can have anywhere from 2-12 DoTs applied to you in 1 GCD, in addition to other status effects like Ele Sus, which is free (on live) and applies a rotation status effect.

To purge all 10-20 effects you would A. Have to be a Templar and spam cleanse at least 3-5 times, which is 13-21k Mag IF....IF those effects are not reapplied in the 3-5 GCD you spent all your mag on removing these effects...

DK is 100% overtuned in some areas, but overall at the balance of power players want to see across all classes.

Necromancer also has a purge. But nobody knows this because it's a dead class in pvp. 💀

Making an argument by pointing out one skill that classes have access to and not addressing the myriad of issues with DK being overpowered is a joke.

Also, I did point out thay some aspects of DK is busted. In PVP it is perfectly acceptable to have a spammable single target skill that can turn in to an aoe skill with 2x Ult damage and heals for more than a burst heal. But wait, there's more!! You also get to use it up to 5 times, even while having passive 100% penetration and a strong DoT that was supposed to be disabled against players....

Nevermind nerfing Templar's already underwhelming DPS and making sure it sticks to the one class that does not need help with DPS.

Not even trolling....but how is anyone "underperforming" in DPS with DK in PVE...?

DK is underperforming by maybe 5% compared to other classes, and that's because other classes crutch on their IA sets. A necro without corpse burster will perform much worse than a DK in tide-born. Templar IA set is an unusable meme, and sorcerer Monolith set is also a meme.

Going just off title, this was done to further avoid meaningful competition between the DK in its natural habitat (literally anywhere you go is its natural habitat) that could pose a significant threat to it.

Should the sorc be deemed to close to viability over DK, sorc will be next.

The only viable way to play Necro is to just be a meme tank. I spent a good amount of transmutes, gold, and time trying to make CB cro work and every button I clicked just made me think to myself "that could've been a DK whip doing 50% more damage".
