I won't be renewing at this time as I'd like to see what is going to happen to the game. I used to always have an annual sub but took to down to a shorter term after the Solstice fiasco. We shall see...

While I'm playing, I'm subscribing to ESO+. Managing inventory, no access to Dungeon DLCs, and limited housing slots is not interesting to me. I will wait and see what the updated roadmap is and then will decide if I want to continue playing/subscribing.

As for premium tomes, I've never planned to buy them in the first place. So, recent events have no bearing on that.
Same here, no need to buy tomes at least with ESO+

Strangling ZOS financially just makes MS think they were right, and they weren't. Besides, have you seen chicken fence and corgi? First fence we've had since TG first dropped.

I’m in the wait and see category. While I’m playing regularly, I do so with ESO+. I like having access to all the dungeons and chapters and DLC that I otherwise don’t own. I like the increased inventory space and, as I’m getting into housing, the double furnishing limit as well.

Whether I buy the tome depends on what’s in it. If I like things, I’ll probably buy it, provided the updated roadmap we get indicates ZoS plans on continuing to support and develop the game. If not, I’ll just play what there is until I am done with what I enjoy and then I’ll find something else to play. Wouldn’t be the first time.

Neither of the tomes have interested me so far, so I haven't bought either of them.

As for subs, I want to see what the future plans are going to be before I consider renewing again. I certainly won't ever trust Microslop with an annual sub, it'll be shorter term only if I decide to renew. I've had subs for both ESO and Fallout 76 this year, so I don't feel awful pausing them for a bit.

I will also be keeping an eye out for any former devs working on other projects and games that I can support too.

I wasn't interested in Season 0 tome and am not interested in Season 1 tome. I will probably continue subscribing because ESO is the only MMO I play, and in any case I don't think Microsoft cares enough about ESO for a boycott to mean much to them. (I've definitely been soured on Xbox though, it used to be my preferred console but obviously not anymore).

I reviewed the Tome and don't want anything from the Premium tome. Didn't want anything from the updated Trade Bars either as I oddly had a lot of things already.

I did buy Season 0's tome for my Khajiit Garfiel-Dar's orange ball of Vigor.

I'm in the wait and see for my sub at the moment. I just bought a bunch of crowns last month and not sure how much I'm playing at the moment. If I end up playing a lot I'll resub.

I won't be buying this tome because there's nothing included that would justify the price for me. I'm open to the idea of buying a tome, but only if it has stuff in it I want enough to pay for.

Yeah, I took a look and have passed on it for now. I might change my mind later, but it seems that the free tier is loaded with goodies (not complaining about that!). The premium tier doesn't get enough beyond what's free to justify the cost, and includes trash like poisons. There's also a lot of transmutes and other stuff that's easy to get in-game.

There seems to be just one (maybe two) big ticket items in the premium tier, and if they don't appeal to you, there's no reason to upgrade. I'd be more likely to upgrade if the premium tier contained a few crates, more currency items (there's a few but not enough), and other lower-tier cosmetics, because then there'd probably be quite a few items I'd use. I have no need for the colourful rooster, so that automatically means there isn't enough value. I know the bonus pages have crates and such, but I'm not going to buy the bonus tome if the premium doesn't interest me.

Anyway, I haven't ruled out buying it yet - I might do it just to support the team, but I really think the premium tier items need to be improved to get more people to buy in.

I've been playing so long I've really kind of run out of things to do. The new "content" seems pretty light, but I'm mostly just not interested enough to go stand in a herd of 100 people waiting on dynamic encounter timer. I turned off my sub pretty recently because I just wasn't getting the value out of it. I just looked at the second tome and definitely won't be buying it. It looks pretty terrible imo. Either a bunch of garbage consumables I have no need for or a bunch of cosmetics that looked sprayed on to my character's body. I also don't see any value in the premium version. The glowing weapon styles are hideously over the top and I can't be bothered to get another Grim Focus color change that still doesn't change the damn red glow

Im not interested in the tomes. Not enough to make me budge money wise. In fact Id say its very underwhelming for what theyre asking players to part with. An extra month or two of ESO+ money per quarter. As for ESO+. I do too much crafting/dont outright own enough content to go without it. Tamriel would be a very small place and Id struggle under the weight of all the crafting materials pouring from my hireling mail and the 70 to 90 odd weekly surveys I come into.

It will be a long time before I have to renew my subscription and a lot can happen before then, but I probably will if I am still enjoying the game.

As for the Tome, while I did buy the last one because I liked the rewards, I’m on the fence about this one because so far I find these new rewards to be very underwhelming.

Zenimax didn't make it his decision, so I don't see why I should stop paying for my subs and supporting the remaining devs. If the game succeedes, then I helped support it in some small way. If things go south, then I got to play it in comfort and with all the little perks I enjoy for it's remaining days.

Either way, through all the ups and downs, I don't regret spending money on ESO because it's made a lasting impression on me. I've played so many mmo titles over the course of my life, and none has really compared to eso for me.

As for the tome, we'll see. I'm not sure if I want the things in it. I did buy the first time though, because I ended up liking the personality in it quite a bit.

I wont be continuing to pay
I just resubscribed in June for 12 months. Cost-wise this was more value. But moving ahead, I am not sure what the current value is, as the cadence of new features and content will be affected. If the cadence slows, ZOS needs to extend the current events so that there is less dead-time between events. Otherwise, they will have to accept and embrace the reality of slower cadence + longer dead-time -> leading to wilder fluctuations on player engagement.
So until I get more clarity on the new plans, I will not be renewing in June 2027.

I don't really play other games. The day ESO would close would be the day I'd close with gaming. Same if I get banned.
Until it lasts I'll pay with no problems, no doubts - I don't even feel the need for new content, I can be happy just wondering around Tamriel helping people randomly.
EDIT: (new content is welcome anyway)

    Its like this.

I spent over 700 bucks in Landmark, it shut down a year or so later.
I spent well over 1000 in New World for outfits, furniture etc, thought I'b be a trooper and support the game and AGS. Game is shutting down in jan 2027.
I have spent well over 3000 in ESO. Stopped last year when they cancelled chapters and gave us reused content in "subclassing" (imo, that was the writing on the wall. Matt and other being let go nailed in my beliefs, what happened this past week has cemented my already nailed in feelings).

So, no, not giving Zenimax another red cent. Imo, its money wasted, money that could be put into something tangible. The game is not going to be getting any major content, nothing note worthy. Its best days are behind. It takes good people to make games, those people no longer work for MS/Zenimax.

So far that I have experienced, owning nothing is not making me happy, in fact its quite the opposite. I don't like the world we are heading towards.

I've already supported the game for a decade plus. My reward, MS fires half of ZOS last year, and half of the remaining this year.

This fact makes it abundantly clear that giving ZOS money does not have anything to do with whether they keep the lights on or not. It makes no difference to them. So I can go ahead and save my money from here on out it looks like.

    I will continue to pay
I will continue to sub unless/until I quit the game.

I have some issues with the Tome system and how it works as compared to what we had before, as it doesn't align as well with my play style and schedule, so I haven't decided yet whether I'm willing to continue to buy them. Despite my frustration with the system, I did end up buying the first one, thinking "well, at least I'm supporting the game" but I had a bit of buyer's remorse as it felt like a "forced" purchase. It became obvious I was not going to be able to unlock all the Tome pages before Season Zero expired, so I wanted the Tome to stick around. But this combined with the auto-claiming mechanism makes me wonder how in the world I'll ever even earn enough to explore those pages, if I'm always behind each season, which I'm likely to be. BUT whether I choose to invest in the Tomes again or not has nothing to do with current events and everything to do with not being thrilled with the system.

Some layoffs are done thoughtfully and carefully, and some, not so much. Some are done just to hit a target number. Some signal the end, and some are done as a way to try and stay alive. Since we received a message on the forums that roadmaps will be adjusted and the team is still dedicated to ESO, I'm not going to quit a game I enjoy or pull my sub as a reaction to changes that may have been done at a higher level and might have been out of ZOS's control. That just punishes the team who is still here trying to work on the game.

I will think twice about supporting Microsoft's other products or games, though, especially if this does end up being a way to sunset ESO. But as long as we continue to get some content that I enjoy - especially new trials, dungeons, and new worlds to explore - I'll be here.
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.
