Warden not mentioned on Update 51 Stream?

Are there plans to push this Rework back an update? If so, what does that mean in regards to the other Reworks?

Would they all be pushed back another update?

The chat was filled with people begging for info on Warden and the closest we got was an announcement of a delay to the 27th of July for the PTS and Jess saying, “for that thing being mentioned in chat”…

They said in the stream that they're pushing the PTS for U51 to the end of July so they can have more time to polish things, and that it was relevant to the questions people were spamming in chat which was all warden spam. I don't know why they can't outright say they need more time for the warden refresh and that's why they're pushing back the timeline by a few weeks. I'd rather have that as an answer than the beating around the bush deal.

I found it odd they ignored it myself. Even if the topic of the livestream today wasn't about the warden rework, a simple "yes this is coming in U51" probably would have been enough to immediately satisfy everyone spamming the chat about it.

After some consideration this is probably correct. Given that the PTS was pushed back to the end of July, it makes sense that the July livestream will now precede the launch of the PTS. It seems likely they'll showcase the warden rework (and any other major combat changes coming) during that livestream. I missed the part of the livestream where they mentioned that delay, so that is where some of my confusion came from as otherwise I'd have expected this livestream to showcase all the major features coming with U51.

There will be multiple streams for Update 51.

Last week's (which was combined with this week's) was for QoL features. This week's was for gameplay content like the Nowhere Vault.

Maybe in the next few weeks we'll have one to preview combat changes and the Warden rework.

This will probably be how their streams will work moving forward. Don't expect a single stream to showcase everything that comes in a season or patch all at once.

The Livestreams are reverting back into bad habits. Overly verbose and tangential. I constantly found myself shouting in my own head "Stay on topic!" or "Get to the point already!"

Especially when the meat of the information we're most looking forward to gets rushed through at the end.

yes that is how they do these dev updates,
but before today we had July 6 as the update 51 pts launch date.

so people expected Warden to be shown in this livestream or at least get an announcement for a separate livestream in next week.

Did they go into detail what Nowhere vault is?

Last stream I listened to they were talking about something like pickles I think. I had to take a call for work and when I came back they were talking about that again, and I was like ???? so I stopped really calendaring these lol.

Edit: Tried to look at the ESO reddit as sometimes people summarize these but nothing there, and no YouTube video summaries either.

I don’t want to be too critical, but I will say there was a time where I had to disconnect the Stream from my speaker at work because of the spikes in volume between people talking…

I'd honestly been expecting the Warden stuff to have come up in one of these streams since the May one. It did seem weird that it just never showed up since I know that's one of the big things people would want to hear about.

But if they're delaying PTS and implying that Warden's not done yet is the reason... that doesn't bode well for getting the other refreshes done on time... and then that definitely doesn't sound good for any new Combat anything (like a new Class already, we're seriously overdue!) before like 2030. Ugh...

I do wish they'd come out and say it if that were the case. Leaving us in the dark is definitely worse than "hey, we ran into a hitch getting Warden's stuff done so we need to delay U51 PTS (and therefore likely also U51's release) by a few weeks.

I feel like if that was the case they would have announced it by now. Hiding it until the last minute would be a very silly thing to do. It's more likely that there are either animation problems they're having or issues with (a) Skill(s) not working like they're supposed to. Or some weird interaction with the rework and Mastery Passives they need time to hammer out.

They had to cancel a stream last week, pushing two into one. Either that's why there was no Warden coverage, or it's not quite ready to show, or something else.

With PTS being pushed back, it makes sense that we may have more to hear about U51 at this point, 4.5 weeks out from PTS. Usually we hear details right before PTS.

They have actually said the order could change depending on necessity, but I think the only place it was ever stated was in the release article about Class Refresh.

She also mentioned it would essentially impact the live release and they'd let us know more when they have the ability to.

I fear you're onto something. I hope ZOS steps in and tells it to us plainly why warden was vagued about so hard. Are they renaming the class? Trying to be silly? Switching the refresh order?

I noticed something very different in the stream that seems very concerning to me.

It's been more than a year since these live streams have taken place in an actual studio. Every one of the leads at ZOS are all working from home now apparently, even for doing the big public announcements. We're all getting a look at the inside of the devs homes and getting to know their pets.

Who's manning the offices? How can a business run with all the leads out of the office most or all of the time?

The stream was originally slated for weeks ago and was postponed. Then today it started late and one of the devs had connection issues. Then they stated they were putting off the PTS for about a month...

I don't know folks, but this has a bad look and feel for all the reasons nobody's yet mentioned in this thread.

I'm concerned, and not for the warden rework I also wanted to hear about.

I always thought Warden would be a complex class to rework, due to the large identity crisis it has, so while it is unfortunate that we haven't seen anything from it yet, it doesn't surprise me that it is delayed.

It would be logical to change the class refresh order looking at how things are going in game concerning class balance.

Last PTS, the devs expressed their concerns with malevolent promise and corpseburster in PvP and said that the necromancer class refresh would be required to optimize this, so they confirmed with that post that necromancer is seriously not optimized and once again destroyed. In that post I told them to refresh necromancer this year as a result. This was on the week 4 summary.

Then there has been this poll found bellow concerning which class is more in need.

Necromancer currently is massively in front with a 60% value where warden has 7% and sorcerer has the second place with 14%.
Looking at ZOS claiming that they are listening to their players/customers, they probably saw reason and decided to change the order, and I would be very happy if that is the case because right now warden is a very strong class when necromancer got gutted with massive nerfs over that pas five years, and I believe that nightblade and Templar should also be refreshed before warden.

So now let’s see if ZOS has listened to their players/customers on forum, right now I am unable to play the game due to the state of the necromancer class compared to others, especially in PvP. And if the class refresh order remains the same, then things will get worst. And I am not the one who left the game for those reasons.
