Houses from gold coast bazaar are different

Well, not the houses themselves… but the conditions.

I got the Grand Gallery of Tamriel on an alt account and wanted to sell the rare statues from it - turns out when you buy a house from the GCB all furniture is bound which is different from when it was a golden pursuit reward. Now I regret spending those 11k tome points!

    @ZOS_Kevin

Is this working as intended? Coin/Event houses (and Gold Coast Bazaar is specifically run on an in-game currency like coins) have unbound furniture so shouldn't the version on GCB for consistency?

Could be an oversight. I also noticed that some of the tome furnishings are bound while most aren't.

Hi @ZOS_Kevin - is this intentional or an oversight?

Guess this happens when an ingame currency store gets baked into Crown Store…

    Well that really sucks.
But at least it means I can save time and stop doing any events on my alt account, since I'll no longer be able to use anything from there.

Thanks, I already got one. But I’m trying to find out if this is intentional or an oversight so that I can decide whether I want to get those houses in the future.

That's my guess too. They copied the crown store to make the bazaar, changing the currency used and some of the formatting but leaving everything else the same. Which makes complete sense, why build an entirely new system when you've already got one that does everything you need?

But unfortunately that means the game considers anything bought from the bazaar to be a crown store purchase, so it's bound by default.

Msybe they intended that to happen, but I think it's equally likely it's an oversight.

I don't think any house we earn or pay for should have any bound furniture, it's always annoyed me.

I 1000% agree with this. If I spent my real life money in the Clown Store, I dang well should be able to sell off furnishings if I want to, especially with how expensive those houses are!

I want to say that the items in there were bound if you earned it throught the Golden Pursuit as well, but I might be misremembering. Still annoying, though

But trade bars replaced tickets, and things bought with tickets were bound. (Except the cake slices when they were first introduced, which was clearly a mistake and was fixed relatively quickly.)

Things bought with other bound currency, like gems and seals, are also bound, even though those currencies are also not exclusively bought with RWC. (Gems can be gotten from Ouroboros crates, which are never paid, or from crates from daily login rewards or now the Tome; seals were never purchased as currency.) It isn't just things bought with crowns. It's things bought with bound currency.

    not exactly true.
When Wildgrown Chapel of Julianos was new, furnishings from there were traded by players, because impressario houses have unbound furnishings.

The issue in this thread is very likely caused by the Gold Coast Bazaar being part of the Crown Store, Crown Store houses have bound furnishings.

Are we sure it was actually intended that houses from the Impresario have unbound furnishings when the other things from the Impresario are intentionally bound? They fixed the unbound cake slices pretty quickly, but that case involved very public abuse of the bug to earn achievements.

It would not be the first relatively tame bug left in game for years. Resto books didn’t exist for a decade before that “issue” was “fixed.”

I would be very curious to know what they intend here, and where the houses from Golden Pursuits fit in as well, since they’re not bought with currency at all.

At the very least it’s inconsistent, and I’d like to understand from them why.

Which statues are you talking about?

I got this house when it was originally available as a Golden Pursuit reward.

This house contains a mix of bound and unbound furnishings. All the banners, tapestries, and rugs are all bound.

Of the six statues, four are unbound, and two are bound.

Off the top of my head, the Emperor statue for example. That one was only available for crowns from the decorating part of the crown store until the GGoT was released.
