I think the library would be more used if it was presented the same way as styles and sets. Being able to click on an entry and see a visual representation of what you do and do not have, makes figuring out what you still need much faster and less frustration than a list. In fact, I'm surprised there isn't an addon for this? I'll have to go look.

We have one but it is all over the place. I think that UI for style page and motif tracking can be reworked to current Stickerbook. Meanwhile Stickerbook can also get rid of some categories such as Seasons of the World Cult category with only 66 items. Why it is there still?

We have one and it's called the Lorebooks tab of your Journal. Mouse over each motif and it will show you which chapters (if any) of that motif the character has learned. Chapters which are greyed out haven't been learned.

Yup. Journal -> Lore Library and Crafting Motifs is the first category at the top of the list.

The major issue I have with the existing lore library is that in order to see where a particular motif drops from, you can switch to the achievements entry, but there's no way to quickly switch back. It would be nice if these two sources of information were better integrated, and it would be even better if there was a Search or Filter option. Actually, there's a lot of things in the UI that would benefit from a Search or Filter option!

Nope.

The sourcing information is being added only to the crown version of the motif, since their goal with this change was just to prevent people from having Crown Store buyer's regret.

In any case, if you're on PC, Character Knowledge has a robust motif tracking feature, and it also attaches the sourcing info from achievements to motif tooltips, so both sourcing and completion info is easily available at a glance.

And if you're on console, um, I do intend to eventually port Character Knowledge to console. CK's backend, LibCharacterKnowledge already exists on console, but the frontend requires writing a whole new gamepad-oriented UI and... uh... no ETA, sorry. (But LCK is available on console for any addon author to use.)

Aren't there styles that aren't listed there, though (regardless of the UI mode). For example, what about all the style sheets from events, or anything else that doesn't have an associated motif?

There’s an outfit tab to the left of the gear collection tab on keyboard/mouse, it doesn’t show Everything but event styles iirc are in there. Crate exclusive styles are not.

You're right, and I should have been clearer. I'm aware that there's a UI for them, but at least on the gamepad UI, it's not organized like the motif ones are. It's difficult to see at a glance what you have and what you don't.

honestly, not just motifs. but recipes, furniture plans and even furnishings themselves. we should be able to tell which ones we already found and where we can find them again.
as for information about items we haven't earned yet, I can understand that some level of secrecy is needed there but it would be nice if we could do things in game to unlock hints about them.

So i looked and in gampad mode on PC i found only 19 lorebooks listed and yet i have the style master achievement which requires 50 styles learned. So then i looked under achievents and added to those there so now i have a total of 33 of the 50 accounted for and that includes the alliance styles along with ancient elf imperial barbaric primitive and deadric which leaves me with 17 styles the achievment says i have but i cant track. And since character knowledge doesnt work with gamepad ui and i use gamepad ui to play on pc it won't work for me either.

everything is not pooled into one location so one can see what you have and what you have not so it can be tracked which there is to learn and which are learned. It's a disorganized hot mess right now.

no i don't think it works like that. style master surely isnt an account wide achievement is it? the motifs are only usable for crafting gear on the toon that learns them. if the achievement were account wide then wouldnt the motifs be also used account wide for crafting? If it were as you described then people soulc learn the same 10 motifs on 5 accounts and earn style master achievement. that cant be right.

Also i need 39 more writs for grand master crafter so i need to be able to see which ones i have so i can buy some writs to speed up the process as they are drips and drabs from crafting coming in that i can use...

The achievements and outfit collection are account-wide. The lorebooks and crafting knowledge are per-character.
