Status effects

I was thinking of trying:

2 items: Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
3 items: Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
4 items: Adds 657 Critical Chance
5 items: Adds 200% Status Effect Chance while your Health is above 50%. Adds 10% Healing Done while your Health is 50% or less.

But when I hear 200% status effect, that is not a guarantee.... or does 200% mean it is still useful because of defences (anti status buffs?)

Thanks,

Z

So status effects have a chance to trigger when damage of a specific type is done. While there are some sources that always apply status effects, like both morphs of snipe, most abilities work off of these chances. Weapon enchantments have a 20% chance to trigger status effects, so a fire enchantment triggering a burn, single target abilities go down to 10%, aoe abilities 5%, single target damage over time abilities go down to 3%, and aoe damage over time skills down to 1%. That 200% is based on increasing that base chance, similar to the destruction staff passive and some champion point passives. Those values are what are being referred to when it comes to status effect chance.

check it on build editor. 200% isn't that much - Torug's Pact can do a bit more with charged weapon, and base number is already high with CP enabled and on destruction staff. And you might want Threads of War which enables status effects for light attacks

    I see...
So if I use Shattered Path Signet with a Befouled or Decreased health enchantment (oblivion) (with max 170%) , any idea how effect this will be in PvP?

My thoughts are the Obliv damage cut thru all resistances, but the damaged is based on a % of health?
And befouled...well it just sounds horrible...

shattered paths is increasing the actual dmg of the status effect, so 170% is 170% on the dmg, not the chance to apply

the set you listed increases the CHANCE to apply the status effects

most status effects have between a 1-20% base chance (depending on the attack source, with light/heavy attacks being the highest at 20%)

im not positive how the math actually works on the computation for status chance, but increasing the chance of status effect not really super great to focus on

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (fully filled out with current game), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

in progress: acquiring mundus stones (currently only have the thief)

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

Because some skills give guaranteed status effects, and some effects like burning do not stack. If you target burning and allocate set lines to boost chance beyond reapplying every 4 seconds, you're wasting it. Best to check build editor which tells you the final chance for different damage types.
