The Parch: Unstable Creatia is changed !

From now on... the Unstable Creatia is more difficult, because the electricity kills you very very often and you have to jump or go under, depending on whether the electricity is higher or lower. That might even be fine... but why this change, without warning, without anyone knowing anything???? A change for the worse was passed unnoticed, and I don't like it at all.

This is actually how it was always supposed to be. The "easy" version is the bugged out version, also likely tied to the lack of Faceted enemies on PC/NA because of instances not being recycled.

I am expecting that the maintenance tomorrow will finally fix NA.

The prevailing theory is that the hotfix they did a few weeks ago fixed Faceted/races in new instances, but since the NA servers don't have as wild population swings as EU (EU is very localized around EU primetime, but NA servers have more people from around the world at all times so it doesn't hit he same maximums but also doesn't empty out either), NA never ended up spinning up new instances or closing old ones.

The maintenance will forcibly shut down all instances and reopen them, so then NA should finally get the fixed versions.

The bugged version and the full one both appear randomly for me, but still seeing the bugged one much more often. The door to the right of the entrance is really easy to get to solo so I do it quite a lot. Doesn't seem to be any relation to how recently I've done it or anything.

On PS EU there are loads of faceted all over the place. They"re really annoying! So I don't think the two are connected.

    That's the thing.

NA servers have no Faceted spawning, and only the easy-mode Parch race. EU servers, since the hotfix, are getting Faceted to spawn and the races exist in multiple difficulty levels.

It's supposed to give you a range of different options and Faceted are supposed to spawn, which we're now seeing correctly in EU. NA is not working as intended, and it's because NA isn't spinning up new instances and closing down old ones because the population doesn't swing as wildly as EU.

Has there been any official confirmation that the version with twice as many beams is the "correct" version, or is that just an assumption that's been made?

I don't think it's a 'correct' and 'wrong' version as much as it's just different variations of the thing. But even so, the idea is that you would not always get the same version one after another.

The bug isn't that it's easy, the bug is that we only get the easy version and not the different variations like we should.

yeah, that's how I was seeing it on day 1, Thought they'd changed it to be much easier for some reason and didn't understand why. this makes sense now, it's just bugging out

The way I probably would have designed it would be to have two versions of each energy bar, a high "crouch" one and a low "jump" one. Then I would have had them controlled by flags such that if one version of a given energy bar is on, the other one is off, so it might be a sequence like crouch-jump-jump-crouch-jump-etc., and the sequence would be different depending on how the flags were set at that time.

In the instances where both versions are present at the same time, some of the energy bars appear to be too close together and grouped in pairs, which is why I wonder if they're supposed to be like that or if maybe only one in each pair was supposed to be turned on at any given time.

Do faceted enemies drop anything unique? I kinda stopped NM, after running trial 9 times and reaching 10k favor. So don't really see much point in doing it any longer, could of at least made seperate leaderboard for the opulent trial with a chance to get other faction helmets through rewards for posting good weekly scores but nope. Anyway, back to the question, anything worthwhile from faceted enemies?

No, nothing worthwile at all from the faceted foes. Just an annoyance since on EU they spawn and respawn all over te place.

I haven't been able to finish the race since maintenance. As in, I made it to the end, but there's nothing to interact with on the pedestal to "finish" the race and be able to turn in the quest. Just the portal to get back out.

Did you have a Tempest buff active from an earlier race? Because you need to wait for it to run out before you can get another one.

On PCEU there was the sneak and jump version of this day 1 and had faceted enemies, but it quickly changed to the ez mode, only sneak and no faceted. Now there are faceted, and I have done at least once or twice that race after the faceted were fixed and it was still the ez mode. Are they now back to what they were on day 1?

well, i finished this and all related achievements through the 'easy' version, and i'm perfectly fine with it. best of luck to those out there who will now have to struggle with it. i'm sure i'm been on the other end of the stick with these sorts of things. (eg, i paid for grand psijic villa, even though it was free during a summerset event shortly after summerset dropped, but i joined eso in january of the following year after that zone's release)

That makes sense. I guess I never tried to complete them so close together previously. I last did the race yesterday and thought these things would reset overnight. Wasn't seeing it in my buff stack.

The bug isn't that it's easy, the bug is that we only get the easy version and not the different variations like we should.

I believe that the bug is that the jump lines all despawned. You'll notice that the crouch lines are all present and identical in both the correct and incorrect versions of the race. The only difference is that the incorrect version is missing half the lines.

In any case, on the first day NM launched, all the races had jump and crouch lines. And then after a while, the jump lines just despawned. This problem is per-instance, and on NA, since instances weren't being recycled, we basically never saw the jump lines after the first day of NM. With more instance churn on EU. it became luck of the draw whether you entered an instance that was recently spawned or an instance where the bug had already been triggered.

On EU, there was an instance where the race correctly had both jump and crouch lines, and then later when we looked at the same race in the same instance, the jump lines had all despawned.

I have no idea what the trigger is for this jump-line-despawn bug, but it seems like it will just eventually happen, given enough time.

I just hope that with the patch today, the instances on NA are no longer the bugged versions (mostly so we actually see faceted enemies). I know they were spawning for the first few hours the Night Market was up on release, but then they stopped. Hopefully, that respawning issue is fixed so those who can't play during the day still have a chance to see those enemies.

Did you still have the buff from a previous running? Once you've completed it, you have the Tempest buff for 15 minutes, in which you cannot "complete" the race and refresh the buff, only the portal will show up at the end.

The buff only counts down while you are actively logged into that character.

I saw some of these things. Or at least I think I did. Ive yet to complete the race but honestly I dont think its possible to be done with a Tank anyway. Part of it I regard as an Adventure and that's fine, but some of it im not sure it's immediately clear what we are supposed to be doing. Im going to attempt the race with Falcons Swiftness and see what happens.

Bleah! I guess I won't be getting the Tempest buff again. I tried many, many times on PCEU to do the easiest example of the crouch-and-jump race (i.e., the one closest to the gateway between the Parch and the Night Market), and I could get through it part of the way, but some of the beams are too close together imo, forcing me to stop and step backward before proceeding further, and then I either hit a beam accidentally or a moving fire caught me. I'll try it again if I have to, but I'm not interested in spending 15 minutes trying to complete a race and failing over and over again. The Tempest buff is nice, but I don't need it that badly, nor do I care about the Achievements.

I'm terrible at any jumping puzzles, but I found that moving the camera so that you look at your toon almost from the top helps with gauging the distance between the beams.
