Sharing Night Market Plaza Quests

I understand from the patch notes that all six quests from the plaza in Night Market are intended to be able to be shared.

However, from testing this with characters that had completed no daily quests, it seems that:

Only these quests could be shared consistently:
• Keen of Mind (oddities)
• Representing the Faction (skirmish)
• Blood on the Sand (kill x enemies)

While these three seem to be mutually exclusive (having any one of them prevents receiving any other):
• Argent Eradication (kill argent boss)
• Brazen Eradication (kill brazen boss)
• Fleet and Swift (race)

I could understand if the Argent/Brazen quests were mutually excluding, but it makes no sense that Fleet and Swift would also be.

None of this seems to be intended, according to the patch notes. Could we get a clarification on how it's supposed to work, please?

    Seconded.

I find it a pretty large problem and oversight that group content has these issues with sharing the sharable group quests.

One interesting thing is that it seems to be which patron you're sharing it from.

If you have a three-person group where all three are with the same patron, then only one of the quests can be active at a time. But in the case where the three grouped players all have different patrons, then it seems that they can have all three active simultaneously. Even though you would turn in all of them to your specific patron.

I remember having the Brazen and Argent ones at the same time, because it was convenient. I'm Thousand Eyes, but not sure which faction shared it.

For me so far, it's been inconsistent.

Each time, the shares have come from a player from a different faction.

Brazen / Argent / Oddity ok
Brazen / Skirmish / Oddity ok
Brazen / Race / Oddity ok

Brazen / Race couldn't take Argent

Most strange was Brazen / Argent / Skirmish:
(note, this is the ideal combination, since, in my experience so far, GF groups have tended to do all bosses and skirmish in one sitting. Not really feasible to exit, hand in, and return)
Shared Brazen / Argent, but couldn't share Skirmish.
Then joined another group and shared Brazen/Argent with them. One of their members shared Skirmish and could accept it suddenly (so now held Brazen/Argent/Skirmish). I tested shares from different people. None were from the faction-leader directly. This experience ruled out the possibility that it was a function of the order of sharing/acceptance.

You can have Brazen/Argent/SKirmish at the same time through sharing. I had all 3 this morning.

I think if you turn one in though you can't have it shared again on the same day. I had all 3 at once, but once I turned it in I couldn't get it again that day.

First, I'll repost what I wrote in another thread:
But having different people from different factions actually makes quest sharing easier. So let's say you have 3 people, each who can pick up a different quest from their faction leader. Let's say Alice gets the Argent quest, Bob gets the Brazen quest, and Frank gets the Fleet quest. So if all three people are in the same faction, they could do all 3 quests, but they'd have to do it one at a time, like overland world bosses. A shares her quest to everyone, they do it, turn it in, and then B picks up and shares his quest, and they all do it, and then F picks up and shares their quest. Three quests, but only one at a time. But if they all belonged to different factions, then they can all pick up their quest, and all share it, and they could have all 3 quests in their quest journals at the same time.

So faction diversity in a group actually helps makes quest sharing easier and smoother. The problem is that none of this is intuitive. You can't tell by looking at your quest journal if the Argent quest that you have was originally picked up by a Ruckus player or by an Eyes player--the quests all have the same identical quest IDs, regardless of which faction picked it up, and the faction is a property of the quest that is hidden from the user. And even if the user wanted to manually note which faction shared which quest, you can't easily see which faction someone belongs to (unless they tell you or you pay attention to where they go for quests turn-ins) so even if you know that Argent came from Alice, you don't know if that's an Argent quest sourced from Eyes or from Ruckus.

So, for example, on PC/EU, someone from Ruckus shared me the Argent quest. Someone from Goad shared me the Brazen quest. And I picked up the Fleet quest as Eyes. Now my character has 3 different faction leader quests, each picked up from a different faction leader. Now, I'm ready to form a group for a guild run, and I share out all 3 quests to the group so that everyone has the same set of 3 quests.

Now, let's say someone in the group for this guild run is from Eyes, and they picked up the Brazen quest from their faction leader. They think, "oh, I already have Brazen, so I don't need to get the Brazen share", so they hang onto their Brazen quest. They can't get my Brazen share since they already have a Brazen quest, but they also can't get my Fleet share since their Brazen quest is taking up their Eyes slot, and my Fleet quest is from Eyes.

So to fix this, I had them drop their Brazen from Eyes. And now I share to them the Brazen from Goad and Fleet from Eyes, and now they have 3 quests like everyone else.

To be clear, a Brazen quest from Goad has the exact same quest ID as a Brazen quest from Eyes, and the quests are identical, except for a hidden faction origin property, and it is this hidden faction origin property that determines what quests it will conflict with.

Night Market quest sharing almost resembles quantum chromodynamics. :p

    code, this is VERY helpful.

My confusion was that I was considering shares from the Player/Account's faction, not the ORIGIN of the quest.

So, we should be thinking in terms of having a "Goad slot", an "Eyes slot", and a "Ruckus slot" (plus Blood on the Sand).

    Thank you for the clarification.
