Why isn't there a normal Night Market mode?

If the Night Market is what we get in place of new dungeons then why is there just a difficult mode? Every dungeon and trial and arena have both normal and veteran modes. Why does the Night Market not have the same? Why was the typical way to present group content changed for this?

Only having a difficult mode excludes a lot of players from being able to participate. Adding a normal difficulty would help a lot more players be able to participate.

Group Finder. Guilds. Even messaging in Zone chat will help.

These are the ways you can participate in the Night Market.

I would believe it ties to the leaderboard. There are rewards tied to the winning faction, which makes me think ZOS wants to make players put some effort into the system.

    Players exclude themselves.

EDIT: This post is another I only want to play solo post, can we merge these? Into the main feedback thread?

To me it seems that a full group is the normal mode NM whilst solo/duo is veteran, more or less.

Yes, a merged thread would be great.

Especially because it's the same handful of folk dominating posting in them.

95% of the game is already "casual-friendly" (don't get me wrong: there's no pejorative meaning when I say this). So many people have been complaining about how easy the game has become (kind reminder that a top DPS in 2016–2017 was around 30–40k, now everybody can reach 100k in single bar and 120k+ in 2 bars).

I hope they won't add a normal mode in the future. Because trying to make everything easy, accessible, and satisfying for everybody is what has doomed the game these last years.

Casual/new players want to do the night market? It's easy, there are plenty of things to do so:
    • check for a group in group finder (there are many)
    • check how to make a simple/very basic build to be a bit more tanky and to survive
    • ask for help in chat for a boss
    • Check for guilds/Discord mates to do it with them and learn with them
    • etc.

People will never progress nor learn how to access harder content if ZOS systematically makes an easy version of everything.

You want to do hard content? Then learn, train, parse, and play as we all did during all those years.

And if you can't, then too bad: you will miss a few percents of the game. Tough sh*t.

You enter the normal mode by opening the group finder and joining others.

just join a full group...with maybe the exception of the skirmish which require a bit coordination, the other bosses are all pretty easy with a full group...besides, even when you die and without reviving, the nearest wayshrine is so close that you can immediately jump back in action and group repair kits are dropping like crazy...

just slot a self heal for emegencies, join a large group and youre golden

Just slap together an Oakensorc, slotting Hardened Ward, and both pets (the flappy being the healing morph). Jump into literally any group, and any NM content can be completed will minimal effort.

Because the Night Market IS "Normal Mode". It is balanced around the same difficulty as a normal trial. You can PUG it, just like a normal trial. If it were balanced like a Vet Trial, you would not be able to do so.

What you're asking is why there's no solo Night Market, and the answer is the same reason there are no Solo Trials; because it's group content.

I hope they don't add an easier mode. Instead I hope they are creative with rewards in future returns so people keep coming back for challenges.

This has been a wonderful experience to push a roleplayer out of my comfort zone into grouping with others and feeling joy at overcoming challenges. A mode where solo people bowl over mobs would not have had the same impact. I have met many in Night Market similar to myself who would never have even tried if a soloable/easy version existed.

I'm pretty sure I myself would have went the path of least resistance as well, but it's been so rewarding just trying.

This is the "normal" mode for Night Market.
    There's only one "mode".
    This is group content.
They aren't going to make all the people happy, some will not like how things are, some will.
If they made it easier, you'd have a bunch of people complaining about how easy it is.

I never said a thing about playing solo in this thread. I would actually be fine with grouping for it.

I was just wondering why there wasn't a normal mode too like there has always been with group content before. Why just extremely difficult?

Because this is a new mode, something different.

However, we started this year off by noting that we were going to try some new things. Night Market is one of them. While we always provide group players with trials, we also wanted to try something different.

This is excluding a lot of players and I think they should provide 2 difficulty modes like they have been doing for the last 12 years. Others may disagree but this is my opinion and my feedback and my suggestion.

I wouldn't mind leaving this normal version as it is and having a harder difficulty version of Night Market, it's a bit too easy currently when you adjust your build to it (spoilers: Heart of Flame & high enough stat pools are a good start).

The most similar content to the Market is the Infinite Archive, which also does not have separate normal/vet modes.

Then why create another thread when there's a main feedback thread pinned at the top of the forums? Is your feedback more important than the next guy?

Agreed. The PvE mechanics are easy once your group has learned to do them, and then it just becomes a big zerg mowing down enemies without any real challenge.

The most fun I've had so far was actually attempting the dungeon in The Parch with a group of people who have never done it before. Several mechanics were self-explanatory, but we all had to slightly tweak our builds and coordinate to clear it. That's the sort of content this game has been sorely lacking.

The Night Market starts with brazen bosses, then argent bosses, then gilded bosses, then trial boss. That is also easier to more difficult.

They did claim the night market would be soloable, but it would be hard to do. Ok that's fine but the truth is it is NOT soloable in any way whatsoever. And if you can't find a group you have to just forget it.
