Why are weekly Tome challenges refreshing on Tuesday instead of Monday?

Keeps catching me off guard, it did so last week too. Monday is the refresh day for everything else, why are Tome weekly challenges different?

Maybe not to overload servers? I also remember some new things appearing in Crown Store on Tuesdays, so maybe it is related.

Tuesdays are also IA & scholarium vendor rollover days. It’s certainly strange that it’s not Monday.

Guild Trader flip is also on Tuesdays.

While Tuesday isn't ideal, I would prefer they not add a new day that things refresh. Move everything or nothing. As long as the refresh isn't during Patches, or other regularly scheduled downtime.

I believe initially it was to coincide with the weekly server maintenance/downtimes. But those aren't regularly on Tuesdays anymore, so now it's likely out of habit.

"Everything else"? Like what?

Prior to Tomes, we had two weekly resets based on daily reset time. Weekly endeavor reset at 0300 UTC (EU) or 1000 UTC (NA) on Mondays. And weekly leaderboard resets (this also included trial coffer cooldowns) at 0300 UTC (EU) or 1000 UTC (NA).

Weekly endeavors then stopped before U49. Which left us just a single reset time. So when Tomes started up, they could either use the old weekly endeavor reset time and go back to two separate times. Or they could adopt the leaderboard reset time and consolidate.

They adopted the leaderboard reset time.

Note that I ignored the weekly resets that were based off of Crown Store reset time (IA/Scribing vendors reset at 1000 US-Eastern rather than UTC and is subject to the whims of DST) or ZOS workday time (trader flips now happen during ZOS working hours in case something goes wrong).

My Honestly assumption was so that players that primarily have time only to play on weekends wouldn't have them reset on them during the process and Mondays are when a majority of US holidays and maintenance days fall under. So Tuesdays make a bit of sense.

My guess is that Monday is a back to work day from the weekend, so Tuesday has been chosen for resets in case something goes wrong and they just don’t want to load up their Monday workday with additional things.

The strangest thing for me is that the seasonal endeavor resets at a different time to the weekly one.

IA Vendor - Tuesday
IC Vendor - Tuesday
Leaderboards - Tuesday
Traders - Tuesday
Crown Store - Various as they stagger the refresh

Granted some have different times, but I think that is more to do with ensuring personnel are on site for critical resets like Traders.

The guild trader flip was moved to Tuesday to avoid patch and server maintenance - which typically happens on Monday. It was also moved to a time when staff would be on hand if there was ever a problem.

I expect everything followed on from there.

Monday is a bad day to update anything, as it’s the scheduled day for downtime.
