Gold Event Box - No Style Page No Fragment

Just like the title says. I opened my daily gold event box and it didn't have a One Bad Knight style page (or one of the older style pages, for that matter) or the Blooming Saddle fragment in it (which I got a couple of days ago). I've got multiple accounts I've been getting gold boxes on every day of this event, and every single other one has had either a One Bad Knight style page or the Blooming Saddle fragment in it. Has anyone else had a gold box that only dropped what you'd expect from a purple box?

Had the same thing happen on one of eight accounts yesterday. Already had the Blooming Saddle fragment on that account as well. Curiously I also got the Tree, Jester's Large. In fact, I think my Stupendous Festival Box was exactly same as the one you've shown.

Yes, my first gold box of the event dropped three items: 4x white Dazzler/Firework things, one green furnishing (a Jester’s poster), and a blue fragment from years ago (Joke Popper, iirc).

I’d be fine with that from a purple box. For the first gold box from this event it was deeply underwhelming. It had the potential to offer a lot of value (especially with a new fragment and new style pages available). It ended up offering very little instead.

I definitely have had this happen as well (today in fact, my box looked a LOT like yours, just the festive noise part and some other non-golden stuff).

This is the first day this happened though, every *OTHER* day of the event, the golden boxes have given appropriate rewards.

The gold boxes guarantee nothing, per the event announcement and in-game experiences. They only have a “chance” at items.

Leaving everything up to RNG means people end up not getting the things they are induced to play for.

My golden box today contained an old style page instead of an Bad Knight one.
I'm not sure if I got one on all other days of the festival, but I think I did.

I've opened 77 gold boxes so far during this Jester's Festival, and 76 of them had either a One Bad Knight style page or the Blooming Saddle fragment in them. I'm pretty sure it's intended that you're guaranteed to have one or the other drop in every gold box, and the reason they say there's a chance is because there's supposed to be a chance it could be a One Bad Knight page (but if not it's the Blooming Saddle) and a chance it could be the Blooming Saddle (but if not it's a One Bad Knight page). Usually in almost every event you're guaranteed to get one of the new style pages (or whatever other new shiny there is for that event) each day in your gold box.

It has a small chance to drop from a gold box during this event, but it's really meant for the next event, which is when it'll be on sale at the Impresario. Basically it's just that you might get lucky and get it early so you don't have to buy it next event.

I did read your assumption ("I'm pretty sure it's intended that you're guaranteed") of what was meant by a chance. My assumption of reading the post is differnet than yours.

I've gotten 144 stupendous boxes (6 days x 2 servers x 12 accounts), and I've had this bug happen to me three times. Every time, it happened to an account that already had the saddle.

My best guess is that you're supposed to get a Bad Knight page if you roll the saddle a second time on that account (as described in the article), but that this is bugged, so you end up just getting nothing.

So I think it's a bug, but it happens infrequently enough that I'm not that fussed about it.

(Oh, and it happened twice before Monday's patch, and once after Monday's patch, so the patch is not related.)

since Nov 2016 i got my second sovereign sow fragment two days ago. my first one was one of those that took up an inventory slot and i had lost it.

That was exactly my thinking.

That sounds plausibel.
I only have account. On the EU server, I got the saddle on the first day of the festival.
That was great, but this was my reward today:

No new style page for the second day in a row. (It might be more, I also got some doubles I gave away and didn't keep count)
I ended up having to buy 4 pages from guild traders. Not really an issue, but it doesn't feel very festive either.

I've had no such problems on the NA server, where I didn't get the saddle.
