“Free” re-rolls are limited. This is a new way to extract money.

No, it's not, because if I re-roll and don't get what I want, I'll just do what I've been doing since they introduced endeavors. I'll skip whatever I don't want to do. But at least now, with limited free re-rolls, if there's an item or two that I really don't want to do, I have a chance to change it. We didn't have that before.

Nobody is forcing anyone to spend money.

I mean, hey, I can be pretty hard on ZOS at times, so if I thought the tomes were bad, I'd say so. But I don't.

Yeah the re rollers is actually something they got right. 76 does I believe 2 free a day and you can get them in the season pass as something you buy, so you can have as many as you want. I have maybe 39. I would like to see ESO do something like that, no cap on them, but 5 is more than enough. I'm also pretty hard on Zos, especially around this battle pass, but I feel fairness is required and you gotta call balls and strikes.

I know it's already done but I just wanted to say I am not a fan of this change. I despise battle passes with a fiery passion and while I do appreciate that we'll be getting story content for free now (a la Fallout 76's model), I absolutely hate how battle passes exploit FOMO and pressure people into playing the game a specific way.

Until recently, ESO had the best MMO business model I had seen. Base game purchase + chapter/DLC purchases and you never felt forced to pay further. The subscription always felt to me like an optional way to improve convenience and give you access to smaller DLCs you didn't feel like buying. The crown store felt fair. Even crown crates, which I normally wouldn't agree with, felt fair because of crown gems and the endeavor system. The endeavors felt like a fun, quick way to earn some currency to save over time to buy cosmetics here and there without being forced to pay real-world money. Not to mention the fact that the "Year of the ..." model and chapters also created a hype cycle every time, which would encourage me to get back into the game and feel like playing a lot again.

When golden pursuits began, I remarked on Steam that I was not happy but ZOS_Kevin encouraged us to give it a try. I gave it a fair try and at first, it wasn't horrible. But over time, they grew closer and closer to what I feared they'd be. Then, ever since we moved away from chapters, I have had zero hype for any new content whatsoever. This is only going to get worse with the seasons model, with the way it pressures FOMO and grinding content in specific ways.

I play video games to escape from real-world stress and tedium. I play ESO to explore and live in Tamriel.

I do not want to play a game the way the developer tells me to play just so I don't miss out on exclusive items that I may or may not ever be able to obtain again.

I never thought that TESO had the best MMO business model, considering that the quality of the zones deteriorated year after year and they started releasing one zone per year that was rarely well-developed in terms of the main storyline.
Now, with the new system, they can create amazing and well-developed zones and quests. I also really like that new quests will finally appear in old zones.
I also don't quite understand what you're afraid of losing with the new BP system. You will have a free Tome in which you can collect the rewards you like in any order.
From weekly quests, you will receive about 4,000 Tome points. The most expensive reward on the PTS was 500 Tome points for a free Tamriel Tome.

In fact, I am very happy with the new system, because now I don't lose anything. I always bought the premium editions of Chapters, except for the last few years when the quality of the content began to bother me. Now I can get the Premium Tamriel Tome and not worry that I'll miss anything, because if I log into the game a month or a year after it ends, I can easily complete all the quests in it and collect the rewards. I also want to note how Bazaar solves the problem of rewards from previous years that were unavailable and could not be obtained, but now can be purchased on Bazaar. In fact, the new system has more advantages and there is no fear that I will miss out on anything, which I cannot say about the previous system.

So I know some people love the battle pass idea and some hate it. As a fallout 76 player, I had hoped that ZOS would really knock it out of the park. They did not. I've already talked about that though. I know some people are concerned for a different reason though. The content now being free, is for some, a concern. It seems crazy right? Why would free be concerning? Well it begs the question. Where does Zos intend to make up this revenue? They're not going to just be ok with less money. Another concern is now that everything is free, what incentive does Zos have to make a big drop of sprawling content. People can argue till the cows come home about chapters being stale, that we need innovative content. But with the high cost attached, many don't ever see us getting another Summerset or Morrowind. Kevin was kind enough to try to alleviate some of those fears and I respect the hell outta Kevin. But he can only tell us what the company wants.

Now I agree and disagree with some of what I said above. I intend to see this year's content through. I'm not going to drop my sub, I'm going to do the battle passes each season and I will judge them then. But I understand the concerns.

A question about Seals of Endeavour... will their value remain more or less the same?

For example... will 16 000 Seals still be the standard for Radiant Apex mounts after the new system is introduced?

i would like to see the prices for endeavor stuff drop a little

I started playing ESO with the Elsweyr chapter in June 2019, and have always done the 12-month renewal subscription to the game and I feel that ESO Plus provided me with worthwhile bonuses ... like receiving all my Crowns as a lump sum. I have no problem paying for a game I enjoy, and I realize that the company needs to earn money to stay in business.

I just Googled and reviewed the additional Tamriel Tomes benefits that will accrue to subscribers, and I am very pleased with what I saw. I think my only question about the new Season Zero is whether or not we will see new zones added to the current map. The current world map is large but it's always nice to have a new Zone to explore.

This year, we won't be getting any new large zones.
But we will be getting several reworked zones of the game's vanilla locations based on the Thieves Guild storyline, as well as some new mini-zones that we will be able to visit as part of the Sheogorath storyline.

Hi Everyone. Before March begins, we wanted to provide an update on Daily Login Rewards. Starting March 1st, Daily Login Rewards will no longer be available and officially retired from ESO. The UI will remain visible (but empty) until the launch of Update 49 on March 9. This also means the Daily Login Reward web articles will be sunset as well.

Additionally, Weekly and Daily Endeavors will retire on March 2. Seals of Endeavor will remain a currency in-game and will be earnable through the Tamriel Tome starting on April 2. In the meantime, we’ll be offering a Golden Pursuit, starting on March 3, that allows you to continue earning Seals of Endeavor until the start of Season Zero on April 2.

The March Golden Pursuit is meant to ensure you don't miss out on Seals of Endeavor during this transition period between Weekly and Daily Endeavors sunsetting and the start of Season Zero. This Golden Pursuit is designed to deliver the same amount of Seals of Endeavor you would have received when completing Weekly and Daily Endeavors.

Thanks for your understanding, and we’ll share more details as we get closer to these updates.

this may or may not be a good thing for all players. I for one do not play PVP and if you plan to do nothing but PVP rewards then count me out I and many player prefer solo play. at least with daily endeavor most of them didn't require group play.

Why is it that game developers must do their best to ruin some good elements of a game. Liked the Daily rewards and the ability to get some items that weren't always available in game. Oh well there are other games out there.

I appreciate the article you guys posted for this.

Where is this article? I'd like to read it to see if I can understand this decision.

Seriously, other than event tickets, daily login rewards and daily/weekly endeavours are the only reason I play the game these days.

I must have missed the announcements that Daily Rewards and Daily Endeavors would be going away. I found out when I logged in today. I really looked forward to logging in to see what the Daily Reward was each day, and I had a lot of fun doing the endeavors. Finding out that they were gone was, honestly, rather disheartening.

I had planned to do some questing in one of the expansion areas today, but finding out these dailies went away spoiled my mood. I logged out of ESO and found a different game to play.

You will see more zones added to the map overtime. With all of the changes and trying out the event zone, it was not realistic to have a zone added this year. But more will be added overtime.

I liked the daily bonuses. Ya made me kept on buying xbox gamepass ultimate to play the game.. Log in daily for bonuses. And if I miss one.. One time I emailed support as I wanted to make sure I actually missed a day.

Meaning I log in played the game, but never clicked on the daily. One time I thought I did, I emailed them to confirm and wouldn't give me a value answer if I did or didn't, or there was a glitch.

The only time I missed a day. No one was able to log in for that day.... Reason from asking them. I wanted to see if was the system or me. If they can't trully see that. I would just make a video to see. I did. Results of just working and forgetting and thinking I did. I saw the post
(Community Manager) mention about people missing days after they clicked them. Their system from eso should have those tools that sees they clicked that day or not

There was a stream on Twitch explaining all of this. In short, instead of Daily Login reward and Endeavors we will have Tamriel Tomes. The Endeavor Seals are not going anywhere. They will be renamed to just Seals. You will be able to earn them through Tamriel Tomes.

There will be 3 tiers of tomes. The first one is free for everyone. The other two - paid content. They said that the rewards from tomes will be cosmetics only.

Here is the news post with the highlights of that stream:

Not everyone uses the launcher. An in game announcement or notice about major changes would be nice.
And consoles don't have a launcher option at all.
Right now, the only thing under Announcements is the Deathmatch Weekend.
For Endeavors, all we see on console is "There are currently no Daily|Weekly Endeavors available. Please check back again later."
Same for Daily rewards: "Daily rewards are currently unavailable. Please check again later."

Nothing about the new systems, Tomes, Trade Bars, the fill-in Golden Pursuit, or that no, in fact, daily rewards and endeavors AREN'T coming back in their current forms.

People who know from the forums or Reddit have been telling other people what's up in guild and zone chat, but there is still a LOT of confusion on PS-NA.

@ZOS_Kevin, please pass on to the devs that we need a better way, IN GAME, to learn about these things. As others have said, Announcements are *right there.* I would argue this change is much more important than the deathmatch weekend.

The forums and Reddit are not a suitable substitute.

Question: how do players on consoles learn about the content of the updates? Do they read patch notes that are posted on the forums?

While I would not say no to links to the relevant articles in the Announcements, you can get a lot of important information (Tomes/endeavors/Daily Login rewards included) in the news on the official ESO website.
