PTS Update 49 - Bug Reports for Combat Refresh: Dragonknight

    I'm doing a bit more testing and writing up an analysis for the full line after a week of testing, but there are a few things I noticed that are major bugs that are not visible without grouping.
    EDIT: and some others I noticed as I was going through my notes

    1: Cauterize does not have any effects to visualize the healing.

    I assume it's supposed to burst out radially as the Inferno morph does, but there is no indication of a healing burst going out aside from having Combat Text on.

    2: Volcanic Ward will only prioritize other players if the other player has taken damage. If the other player is at full health, the shield will invariably be placed on the caster.

    3: Dragonfire Breath oddly got less exaggerated with the animation, while the effect got bigger. Both morphs show the character with a slightly open mouth and a neutral face otherwise (yes, these were tough to get shots of, but this is Disintegrating and then Engulfing)i0lncczvhgbh.png

    versus on Live where the mouth is a little wider. Still could use some angrier eyes though. I also notice he's got a clear grip on his weapon here unlike in the PTS version.

    4: The tooltip for Fleetstep wings makes absolutely no sense. It sounds like a political word salad.

    "The enchanted summoned by your wings coalesce around you." ...what?!? Someone call an English major, I feel like there is one or more words missing in there.

    There seems to be some stat desyncs going on, hard to tell which ability is the cause of it, but I would assume Heart of Flame is to blame since it affects the stat pools.

    You can see how anything costing 3k+ Magicka is greyed out even though I'm supposed to have 7k Magicka according to the Bandits UI display.

    Yeah I would honestly prefer a more sleek design that synergizes better with actual armor.

    In Imperial City, there's a 50% chance that the animations for Dragon Leap and its morphs and Protective Scale and its morphs, are still bugged.

    Sometimes the wings are in the right place, sometimes not. Sometimes they start in the wrong place and then jump to the correct one.

    Thanks for this callout - the team is aware that individuals with longer load-times may still have occasional issues with the Dragonknight wings not being positioned properly due to how the model is loaded in when the ability is cast. The team is looking into possible solutions to this issue.

    Is there a plan B for the animation if it doesn't work? Will it launch in this state?

    Technical question @ZOS_Erin - when you say "longer load-times"... is this server/network related, or something on the client-side that we could potentially look to resolve locally? Not sure where it's technically loading from - my local disk, or off the network? If it's local, I'd be more than happy to adjust local settings to alleviate problems.

    NB: I ask, because I had some horrendous performance issues at one point, but managed to resolve these by applying some changes to usersettings.txt that I found recommended online (specifically to RequestedNumJobThreads and RequestedNumWorkerThreads).

    This is a client-side issue, not a server-side issue. Lowering your graphics settings likely will not help alleviate this issue since it would only improve GPU bandwidth and this particular issue is CPU-bound. Bumping thread count will only help alleviate this issue if the thread queue is experiencing high traffic. Playing on slower hardware or if your patcher data is on a slower disk access could also be a contributing factor.

    The team is testing a speculative fix for the issue expected for a future update, but this will take some time as we balance fixing the issue and maintaining it's impact on client performance.

    DK skill 'Protect the Brood' - I've reported a bug using the /Feedback tool in game hopefully someone is monitoring it :smile:

    The animation however is also incorrect - I've drawn a yellow line to show the extent of the animation visuals but you can see that the 2nd character is receiving the buff
