Was Dragon Rheum removed from the Tideholm chest?

I go to this chest every day as part of my daily slog of things I have to do and I’ve noticed I don’t have a single piece of Rheum in my bag.

Got a piece yesterday from the Dragonguard Chest on XB-NA.

I get a bit of it with daily loots, not every day though. Some days I get a few of them, and some it is just one.

    The Tideholm box gives:

    1 guaranteed Aeonstone Shard

1 guaranteed overland set piece from Southern Elsweyr (equal chance of set; purple possible but blue more likely)

1 guaranteed container: Robust Heavy Sack (which is just a normal heavy sack in contents), Rugged Adventurer’s Backpack, or Rugged Document Pouch (probably equal chances)

Chance of a New Moon Priest Motif page (looks like 50% chance) or the whole book (extremely rare - I’ve gotten it)

2 rolls for these options guaranteed:
-2 rolls of 3x alchemy ingredients (looks like 25% chance)
-2 Dragon parts (looks like 75% chance)

Since these options roll twice, you can get 4 rolls for 3x alchemy ingredients, 4 dragon parts, or 2 rolls of the first and 2 of the second.

The alchemy selection for the first rolls seems to be the same as alchemy daily writ drops, except I’ve never seen the Clam Gall or Powdered Mother of Pearl that were added to daily alchemy writs.

For each dragon part, it’s an equal chance for which drops - Bile, Blood, or Rheum. It rolls independently for each of the two, so you can get 1 Bile and 1 Blood, or 2 Rheum, etc.

It’s possible to get 4 Rheum in one box if the dragon parts choice is rolled for both times and each of the four independent rolls for which part fall on Rheum. I’ve had that happen. It’s also very possible to get none, in which case you get more non-dragon alchemy reagents or more Bile/Blood.

ETA: If you have no Rheum, have you done The Good Bits quest? In my testing that wasn’t necessary when Rheum is acquired from containers (also event quest coffers and Tales of Tribute coffers), but they might have changed it.

That’s mental. I must have crazy rng because I kinda daydream my way through the whole process, checked today to see if I had enough to sell and had zero

Is it possible that you have an add-on active that auto-crafts stuff and has used up your supply? Or that your stack somehow got transferred to the bank?

Hmm yeh I use lazy writ crafter. Definitely need to look in to that. I have auto pick-up too so 99% of the time, I don’t even look to see what I loot from the chest

Update: so I did some testing with this. I sold all my Rheum a few months ago for a quick cash injection. Every day, I continued to loot my Tideholm box only realising recently that this wasn’t yielding me any more. I was getting Dragon Blood, Bile and everything else that drops. Just no Rheum. I continued looting assuming perhaps my RNG was just bad. Still none.

Today, I decided to purchase a singular piece of Rhuem from a guild trader so my craft bag had the item loaded in and today after months and months, the box finally gave me some

So I’m concluding, for the box to give you Dragon Rheum, you need to have at least one within your craft bag to begin with.

This is not true in my case. I loot the chest every day and 3 or 4 times a week I put all the Dragon Rheum I've gotten up for sale, leaving me with none in my craft bag, yet I still keep getting them.

Or mine bugged then. Even with terrible RNG there’s no way I went months of receiving nothing until the day I purchased one from a trader to have in my bag

That is totally weird, but then again this is ESO...

Short of trying the experiment again, I guess you could always keep at least one rheum in your bag at all times. Mine go in the bank every day for reasons, and I haven't had the same issue.

This sounds like a plausible explanation: If you've done the quest, you should get Rheum no matter what, but if you haven't, then it ends up being rewarded if you have some in your stock.
