Being able to lock doors is a really cool feature and I hope there will be a way to implement this in existing houses as well.

If it's possible to add at all, a more comprehensive UI feature as noted here would be preferred:

...2. I noticed the door locks right away because they echo a big Wishlist item: the ability to lock / unlock specific interactibles like lights, doors, gongs, bells, etc. so that Limited Visitors can still use specific items, while leaving the rest untouched as a builder intends.

...a UI feature to to "unlock" [user-designated] items in any house, rather than toggles in specific homes.

I'd rather not have huge shiny locks on everything.

One slight annoyance with Buccaneers Bay. It is the only house I know of where the entrance is not at the exit. i.e. when I enter the house, I cannot simply turn around to face the door and press E to use the door. Instead I have to walk several metres forwards.

FYI I use the trick of previewing a house and then exiting the house to get out of longer delves etc.

Commenting on the Night Market Event House's pile of gold feature (Decorative pile of gold which increases size with owned gold)
Currently it is character dependent and is based on your inventory gold. Whilst I can see the upsides to this, it does make it so we can't have a "set standard" of gold in the house at all times.
    Here's a few suggestions
    • Base it on bank gold, either by default or as a toggle
    • Pick one character to use as the "gold tracker" (sort of like how you can import housing permissions from other homes)
    • Deposit gold within the pile of gold itself, letting it serve as a literal "goldsink" that we can feed as we want

This would help roleplayers a lot, allowing us to keep the house in X state without moving gold from char to char. And I'm sure decorators would also enjoy having a more set in stone way of keeping the gold pile

Agree! I'd prefer to have it based on bank, or any of the above suggestions!

    1. There seems to be a "sweet spot" at 6 million gold where the door sparkles. (5 mil = a little sparkle at the bottom, 6 = full sparkle.) Beyond 6 mil, it no longer sparkles (bug?) and the pile stops growing at 7 mil. Everything beyond 7 mil is the same visual.
    2. If it's tied to the house owner's bank and displays the same amount for all visitors, it has potential to become a vehicle to harass players for their gold. T_T I would still rather it have it rely on bank gold; problem solved with a placed door or gate + Limited Visitor. (Even better if we could have manual, user-designated unlocking in the UI, as described up-thread.)

    1. There seems to be a "sweet spot" at 6 million gold...

    Consolidated feedback for Night's Den:
    1. Good thing the base house is unlocked via the intro quest because the Night Market is a Trial-difficulty area. Most will need to group.
    2. The house comes nicely-decorated as-is. Lots of the new, colorful lanterns I assume will be unbound. Nice!
    3. Vault should be based on bank, designated character, or deposit directly to the house pile.
    4. Bug – the vault door stops sparkling at 7 million+
    5. Could the Vault be enterable so we can swim in the gold pile like Scrooge McDuck? 🥺🙏💰
    6. I couldn't find any way to see a Preview version, without doing the quest. I'd love to see the 3 locked wings. It's impossible to see them in a PTS cycle (even if you find a group for this difficult zone) because you can only pick 1 faction account-wide until the Night Market ends. Please let us preview all 3 wings: I want to pick the faction whose wing I want to build in.
      EDIT:
I looked through my tester coffers to see if the items to unlock the wings were in there; pulled everything out of the Update 49 coffers. Doesn't seem to be :/ Those will probably be available in a later update so we can preview the wings, right?
      ...
    7. We really need portals & custom spawn for housing. Else, this will have the same problem as Hall of the Lunar Champion: 1. too many load screens; 2. too many areas to build in, not enough slots.
    8. It's a shame the ceiling is so low. I was thinking to build something outside of the structure with the interesting skybox, but it's impossible. (But I get it, there's probably no landscaping done out there.)

I agree with what Moonpile said. I think the house is lovely and I can see how stress free it will be to decorate for people who wants market vibe house.

However, I'd like to also see all 3 wings unlocked easily on PTS so I can choose which wings I'd like to use - since we can't use all 4 areas (main hall and 3 unlockable wings) with given just 700 slots.

Honestly, I wish each area come with 700 slots - to this day, I'm bitter that I had to block off areas in Hall of the Lunar Champion due to slot limit because I loved all 4 areas. I'm afraid the same thing will be repeated with this home.

Even if manor slot limit gets increased later (hoping 1000 slots at least), that won't be enough for all 4 areas. If we can't get 700 slots for each area, I also would like ability set zone in point as Moonpile mentioned above.

I imagine it'll work like it does if you buy a House in a Zone/DLC you don't own; when you leave it, you get put back to the Zone you were in previously.

Is there a way to preview the Night Den's extra rooms(?)/wings(?)/who knows(?) WITHOUT the achievement? I've checked a template character but there doesn't seem to be a way... (unless I've missed it?)

    P.S.
I just remembered another thread requesting Housing Dev communication (link just for reference) because of a mass request re: the upcoming U49 house. Among other things,

Everybody wants to swim in the gold pile!

Assuming there's some weird technical reason the gold vault was made view-only and probably can't be modified – could the Devs tell us in one of those Update threads?

I'd think this is a relatively-safe low-hanging-fruit: Whatever the technical limitation is, most of us would probably understand. It would be better to know the reason and share that around, than see "devs tryna kill our fun" murmurs everywhere. I'm sure many of us would love to see more (in general) from the Housing Devs in a future "PTS Update" thread.

Curious why Frostvault Chasm is remaining a Classic Home. It has a larger footprint than many other formerly Classic homes that were made into Notable Homes.

Not on PTS but just watched a vid walkthrough of Buccaneer Bay. That's not a house, that's a whole town! It looks very cool, well laid out with room for days but with a 700 slot limit I would not buy it.

The tavern by itself would need 200-300 slots, conservatively, for the kind of look I'd want to achieve. Each dwelling? The open air market space? Forget it, to make the kind of rough and tumble, seedy nighttime underbelly build I'd want, there would need to be 1000 slots available at minimum.

The increased limit on furnishings is INCREDIBLE, absolutely a win, I cant wait to kit out my classic homes in the style they deserve. Hopefully Notables will get the same treatment somewhere down the road. Id rather leave my Apartments limit lower and allocate increased slots elsewhere, like huge Notables.

While I absolutely agree that it is (again, as most crown houses) too huge for 700 slots, there is cool new feature: some doors can be just locked, with appearing chains and lock as on many unacessible houses in towns. So you can decorate not each of them - without thinking how to block it.
(locks better not be glowing, though)

Agree, I'm really anti-glowing-lock (as said here; a global & more-comprehensive UI feature is preferred)

    Also wanted to add:

I'm SUPER happy about the housing slot upgrades!
I understand if they were all probably raised the same amount as a fair sweep. But if at all possible, spatially-larger houses with exteriors like Sleek Creek, Bouldertree, Exorcised Coven Cottage, Mournoth, Ald Velothi – and especially Crown-Only 400's like Lucky Cat, Hiddenspring Cottage, Seabloom – would be great with 600.

    Thanks devs!

I wanted to feed back that I LOVE the growing pile of loot in the night's den.

agree, it would be better to be based of e.g. banked gold, or designated toon.

it might be too late but you may have missed a feature that would have made it _even more_ awesome.

different "piles" or types of things based on the different currencies?

    imagine:
a separate pile of a different looking "jewels" that scale as you grow your tel var stones?
some shiny pvp statues that you have more of with more banked alliance points?
a table with a pile of papers that grows in size as you increase your banked writ vouchers (maybe an npc sat at table to manage them)?
another shiny pile in a different corner for archival fortunes?
stacks of "bullion" bars that grow as you add trade bars?
a chest full of undaunted keys that's fuller the more you have

    etc etc etc

[*] What are your general thoughts on new houses?
    [*] Buccaneer Bay.
i love coastal homes! and i like that this house has some new assets on the big ship in the middle.
Please make the entrance ship usable, i want to decorate it!

    [*] Night's Den.
beautiful house. happy that it is earned through the Night Market's intro quest.
Agree on the vault gold comments, it would be better if it could use your banked gold.
it is an awesome feature though.
Also love that there is a bank safe to access personal and guild bank.

[*] What do you think of the new furnishings?
    - i love the Fargrave coloured paper lanterns. Blue and green light furnishings are my favourite.
    - Happy to see Stone Nest and Worm Cult structures.
    - i think, if possible, the new Valenwood Skull Blocks furnishing should be interactable as it has an emote version. Like the Dwemer and Mirrormoor glass harps.

[*] Do you have any other general feedback?

    - i hope the furniture plan drop chances are high in the Night Market.
Overall dlc furniture plans drop way too rarely.
    - please reduce the Ancient Sandstone requirements for Fargrave furniture. 1 or 2 is a better requirement than 10+, the material is not easy to farm.

thanks for adding to Housing every update, there are always good additions.

The unlockable wings for Night's Den feel incredibly underwhelming. I was eagerly waiting to see what'd be beyond the doors since the main area is so wonderful and the Elsweyr House has different locations. But they're just small rooms with pillars in the middle that can't be removed. It feels more worth to *not* put down the relics and just build in the main area. I was kind of expecting more like...the doors becoming interactable (instead of disappearing), teleporting us to a miniature version of the districts. I know not a lot could be done about it now, so another idea I have is to add the minigames to the wings like an arcade.

Now that we can see the wings of the Night's Den, I'm a little disappointed. I expected the faction wings to have more than just one room to decorate. I will say that the base appearance of each room does a good job representing that faction and looks nice, I just hoped for a little bit more. I think the rooms are spacious enough to work with though and I'm not too fussed but I figured I'd put this out here early just in case others were expecting more too.

Adding onto this, if it is supposed to be by faction instead of by district, then I can't tell the difference between which room's for The Ruckus and which is for the Thousand Eyes. The gold room for Glittering Goad makes sense but the other options are burnt down kitchen or construction zone.

So I'll admit I may be a little biased here. Thousand Eyes is my favorite faction of the three by a mile and in their room I appreciated the touch that the tunnel system the various critters of the faction use were also present in their room, making it feel like it's another part of the network. I love critters in game and the various pets I collected over the years plus those tunnels will make it very easy for me to make it feel like the room is just another part of the Thousand Eyes network for my house, but I do understand how it might not be as endearing to people who aren't as interested in that when designing their house.

I will say the Ruckus was the most disappointing room for me and I agree it looked a bit unfinished, but I also know that the Ruckus is my least favorite faction of the three so I was wondering if I was being too harsh or not.

I like the Glittering Goad as a faction overall, and they definitely have the most distinctive style marks across all of the Night Market, from their room to their regions. Funny enough I like their aesthetic the most overall in general (especially in their helm/shoulders) but I just find Thousand Eyes as a concept and with all the critters so endearing they won me over.

Edit to show what I mean by the tunnels:

Ohhh, okay, good point. I also like the Thousand Eyes the best so to add onto my feedback, I'm currently playing it as if I'm the average "MMO" player. I haven't been reading the quest dialogue. I've explored the faction areas and just generally have a sense of the factions as "knowledge-seeking, slaughtering, and gold-hoarding". I'll be going through all the dialogue on live but I'm saving that experience until then.

U49 PTS: Night's Den House - Unlocking the Wings: Screenshot tour with feedback
    https://www.tumblr.com/moonpile/806839715094511616/eso-u49-pts-nights-den-house-wings
    • As in my prior feedback – the house is easy to unlock: great!
    • The bank is still based on Character gold. Would be better as Banked gold or another option suggested by BloodstainedFay
    • A couple of the unlock furnishings are pretty cool.
    • There are ZERO load screens to the wings! Great!
    • Wings (small rooms) are underwhelming. (Personally, I’m not motivated to unlock these. Maybe only the last gold room, with the cool lamp Collectible. And to be clear: for me, that's not a negative! I'm very OK with this. I would also do some Night Market to unlock the bank, as well as the merchant furnishings, and Antiquities.)
    • For those who only want to do housing and really don’t want to group for Night Market combat / trial, I think this is OK: perhaps less incentive to feel that they must grind this content.
    • However, you might still want the furnishings – Collectible slots are so important for us in Housing! Also the Antiquities and Market items: https://moonpile.tumblr.com/post/805667556176314368/eso-u49-pts-merchant-antiquity-master-writ
    • The mailed furnishings from the Factions: Cheap, craftable and event items you can easily get otherwise. (And because these are all Bound, I’d rather not have them clogging up inventory.)
    • Only the Glittering Goad has Maormer rugs and Redguard pottery – Crown-only items normally. (All items bound.) So, in terms of room uniqueness and furniture quality, Glittering Goad seems to be the only faction worth doing.

Idk about others, personally I'd sent this feedback:
    • Give them a toggle to turn the effect ON / OFF
    • Make them playable like the world asset / emote (would be nice)

I don't understand the patch note, they look pretty much the same as before? Maybe there was a bug I didn't notice, Idk.

    Also,
Fixed a minor visual issue with the following furnishings:
    Stone-Nest Fountain, Four Headed
    Stone-Nest Gazebo, Temple

Idk what this was, but already noticed Stone-Nest Gazebo, Temple sliding issue was fixed last time! Thank you so much for that!!

Finally, just a note that these are probably still bugged:

But I haven't found them in the tester coffers since a few patches ago. (And because they are so difficult to unlock, I don't have any on EU to check. Might go scry them on the tester later, unless someone else can check.)

@MoonPile The skullblocks are playable— at least when I tried on PTS week 1.

Really? :/ How odd, I'll have to go back and look again. The furnishing was not interactible at all for me, any of the weeks. Also their furnishing description on-hover did not say interactible.

I wanted to feed back that I LOVE the growing pile of loot in the night's den.

agree, it would be better to be based of e.g. banked gold, or designated toon.

it might be too late but you may have missed a feature that would have made it _even more_ awesome.

different "piles" or types of things based on the different currencies?

    imagine:
a separate pile of a different looking "jewels" that scale as you grow your tel var stones?
some shiny pvp statues that you have more of with more banked alliance points?
    ...

    Btw, these are fun ideas!

I still wish we could at least enter the room and walk on top of the gold, even if not swim in it.

Other items and houseguests are able to be placed inside, so I wonder why not – was there an issue with collision? Something else? I wish the Devs could tell us: I'm sure there is a good reason; just out of curiosity about the process.

Just confirmed that its interactable and the description says it is interactable and audible just in case I had misremembered. It is one of those things where you have to make sure the outline is green instead of yellow, though. Maybe you accidentally placed it too far into the ground or too high up?
