Skill Line Distinction post-Subclassing (Feedback)

Now that we’ve seen the basis for Dragonknight, I just wanted to provide some feedback on the artistic style of the class.

While I understand Class Identity was a major factor for this rework, I believe it is incredibly important to understand that each Skill Line is its own individual concept.

In a world with Subclassing, I want to reiterate, that we should avoid Skill Lines like Earthen Heart and Ardent Flame looking Draconic… that is what we have Draconic Power for. When I look at a skill like Earthspike Mantle and see dragon spikes, or Searing Strike and see a dragon’s claw, they feel like Draconic Power abilities.

When I go to Subclass one of these skill lines to make my own unique Class, I’m doing so for the theme of the line, not because I want to be part Dragonknight.

My hope is that this is considered for future reworks knowing that Class Identity is important, it is equally important to appreciate and value our new player made Classes too.

    Let me provide an example:

Imagine I’ve been playing a “Dawnguard” build and I’m using Ardent Flame, Dawn’s Wrath, and Restoring Light.

My best ability for hunting Vampires would be a dragon’s scratch? If I wanted anything Draconic, I would once again pick Draconic Power.

I'm really hoping that at some point they add back in the previous, more muted version of earthspike mantle that just looked like rocks as a skill style variant for that exact reason. I'm happy for the people who wanted the spikes back because they liked them got them, but I really preferred the version from last patch.

Hey @ZOS_Erin it seems like you’re the voice on our new animations, is there any way you could pass this feedback along to your team?

Is this something that you guys have had in mind when designing these new skills?

I get the need for themes inside each skill lines but even if I agree dragon claw seems more like a draconic skill now putting that skill into draconic would just have us back at square one slightly with draconic as a skill line being loaded with the most useful skills in the entire kit

Maybe skill visuals could use another pass to try and create a stronger visual theme inside each line but at a certain point you can only do so much untill you ge to a point where each skill line starts feeling like 3 different classes themselves

I'm going to be severely disappointed if Aedric Spear has its spears spread across the Class when Templar gets its rework. I want spears for the "hunter" theme, so I hope the spears will still be grouped together in the same skill line.

Werewolf Should be Allowed to Sneak
Please give us Werewolf Skill Styles (for customizing our fur color), Grimoires/Scribing skills (to fill in the holes in our builds), and Companions (to transform with).

This is exactly what I’m talking about.

Templar is interesting in that I always felt it’s Dawn’s Wrath stuff should be Fire. I mean a Nova not being Fire is a bit silly.

I think if they all get split up like this subclassing won’t have such a gap between pure classes which is great
