Hello,
I am a French speaker, not French, but it is my language like many other ESO players. We come from France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Quebec, Switzerland, and other places around the world.
For several months now, we have not had proper work done on the voice and text translations in the game. The translations are either not done, only partially done, or incorrect. Our game is in French, but we no longer have the same gaming experience as other players.
I am also surprised that French is no longer listed in the GAME INFO alongside the other languages.
The question that concerns my community is whether you have abandoned our language in this game, which I have been passionate about for 12 years next month.
We are worried because our forum is dead, we haven't had a French manager for years, and we feel like we are being discarded.
Will we have to play in English like in the good old days, or can you guarantee that French is still one of the official languages of ESO and that the absence of French in the GAME INFO is simply an error, an oversight?

Nous sommes inquiets car notre forum est mort, nous n’avons plus de manager FR depuis des années et nous avons le sentiment qu’on se débarrasse de nous.
Va-t-on devoir jouer en anglais comme dans le bon vieux temps ou garantissez-nous que le français fait toujours partie des langues officielles de ESO et que l’absence du français dans le GAME INFO est une simple erreur, un oubli ?

lol "we recommend enabling subtitles" which we can translate by "deal with it, we are not gonna bring french back".

They make fine speeches about transparency and communication with the players but at the same time they completly ignore the french community.

They just answer recently after 4 months of silence just to say the exact same thing but adding the U49 at the list + advicing to use subtitles which clearly say a lot on their plan to bring back "as soon as possible" the french voiceover.

As for the Steam version, French is still present in the info (but unticked for audio in Season Pass details).

I obviously did some research before posting this and read a lot about the issue.
The question remains unanswered, and the answer can only be yes or no.
I can understand that French has been removed from the list of names to comply with European laws, if that is the purpose of the maneuver. Constraints, budget, and many other factors do not always allow objectives to be met on schedule.
Changing certain statuses to protect oneself and avoid complicating the situation is understandable and the right thing to do.
But communicating to avoid losing customers, to reassure them, and to maintain a climate of trust is essential.

The question remains the same:

Can you guarantee that French is still one of ESO's official languages?

Same on my side, I'm playing in French since TES 'Oblivion' and suddenly, I have the voices in English to recent TESO contents with only French sub-titles available whereas I still have the French voices in the "oldest" contents !!

@ZOS_Kevin @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom, any information about the French voices in-game translation ? Should the French-speaking community forget about any translation in French for the most recent (and future) contents ?

Hi all, wanted to follow up here to clarify the missing French tag on the website. We removed French language from the game info on the website due to Update 47, 48, and 49 not having VO support, but are continuing all in-game text French localization.

I think it really behooves you guys to explain why. What happened that an entire language was removed from portions of the game? I'm not a Francophone, but looking at this as a customer, it feels like the full story isn't being communicated. That's not on you, but more on the overall situation.
