Sage‘s Vault: let‘s speculate what it could be

    HI all!

I love all the speculation here, and we'll be revealing more about the Vault soon. One thing I can confirm is it's an entirely new type of Content that the Content team has never really done before and we're really excited to talk about it.

"It’s an entirely new type of content that the Content team has never really done before."
Oh… I see exactly what this means. Something full of bugs, incomplete, and broken. Something that will only do about 30% of what it’s supposed to do. Oh my lord....
Elder Scrolls Online? A delightful blend of tragedy and comedy. Hilarious! Terrifying!
As Sheogorath, say: "If it makes you laugh and cry at the same time… PERFECT! Do it again!"

That sounds more like content than a system. They definitely said it was a system.

So to clarify a bit: it’s a new type of content that uses a specific system for how it works and that part is new. I know that’s still a little vague, heh. We’ll be talking about it in more depth soon, but I wanted to give a little direction without giving too much away so people can still theorycraft. :)B)

Tales of Tribute - now with dice.

No, seriously. Something new for the Archive, perhaps? Or an addition to antiquities?

Probably something Thieves related, like new missions and all. That part REALLY needs a rework.

Sages are more about wisdom, books, history, etc..

I'm betting on something to do with lorebooks, and the eidetic memory system.

[edit] And to expand from that.. it would be another piece in the puzzle leading up to all the Winterhold references we've been seeing. Sage's Vault could easily tie into the College of Winterhold.

Something related to Thieves will not be called Sage‘s Vault. That makes way more sense for Psijic or Mage‘s Guild stuff, if at all.

Sages Vault. - it’s obviously a new place to grow and store various flavors of sage for new provisioning recipes. 🧑‍🍳

I guess it partly depends on what they mean by “sage.”

It could be literal sage — the herb. Since it’s called a vault, maybe it ties into provisioning, storage, or easier access to ingredients.

It could also mean knowledge. A “knowledge vault” could be a place tied to skills, research, or quests focused on gathering or unlocking information.

Or it could just be someone’s name — a Sage who owns a vault — in which case it might simply be expanded storage, similar to housing vaults but account-wide or system-based.

(Mostly speculation — I’m only half serious.)

It could be a herbalgarden for farming flowers to use at potion making like the frostcrag spire garden in Elder Scrolls Oblivion (&remastered), so as @robwolf666 guess goes into that direction

That was my thought as well, for the same reason! Maybe a new system on how to collect and store learned lorebook records. And maybe it has a quest to start it, like the Antiquarian's Circle.

Honestly, my own kitchen where I can store all my stuff and design new recipes would sound dope af and I’m someone who has basically no interest in provisioning / cooking / brewing.

Honestly, it could be anything. If it's not the name of a system but of a specific content release, if could even be a mini map/zone somewhere, related to the Mages Guild (perhaps College of Winterhold) or College of Sapiarchs or whatever. But that only tells you something about the location or theme, not specifically about what you're doing there. Perhaps it's related to scribing. Perhaps to book collecting. Perhaps to antiquities. Perhaps you steal from the Sages there. Or play ToT with them :p

New content with a new system makes me think IA. So… what if it’s take two at Labyrinthian? IA-esque in that each run is different due to the walls moving but more puzzle and lore focused than combat focused.

I don’t think we ever enter Labyrinthian proper, just the area around the maze. I was incredibly disappointed by not being able to do the maze, so there may be bias here.

But like other content, there would probably be a physical entrance. The entrance can be within the public dungeon, leading to the maze.

I forgot about that! It made me happy to see, though I still really wish we could do the maze. I know we do it in Skyrim but I found the Skyrim version a bit disappointing too. Being presented with staves to use to open parts of the maze is cool but I wish there was more to it.
