Zenimax = ZOS= Zenimax Online Studio.
What you posted says that ZOS is the parent company of Bethesda. Everything Bethesda creates is under the ZOS umbrella which is under the Microsoft umbrella.
My understanding is that ZOS is Bethesda's parent company. Everything Bethesda creates is a ZOS product. And Microsoft owns them both now as they purchased ZOS a couple or so years back.
Different companies that share the same physical address.

ZOS is a separate entity under that umbrella. They are tasked with developing/managing the live service game.
My hope is that they have very little to do with the ES6 game.

Wow, this is getting ridiculous, so let's get the facts straight:In other words, ZOS (ESO) is a sister company to Bethesda Game Studios (Elder Scrolls VI). They are both subsidiaries of Zenimax Media, which is now a part of Microsoft.
- Bethesda Softworks is the video game developer that created the Elder Scrolls franchise, starting with Arena. They were founded in the 1980s.
- In 1999, the founder of Bethesda Softworks, together with a partner, created a new parent or holding company for Bethesda Softworks, which was Zenimax Media. It served essentially as an administrative layer.
- In 2001, they spun out the development unit from Bethesda Softworks, which continued to be the publishing arm of the company. This established Bethesda Game Studios, which is the developer that made Skyrim, Starfield, and is now working on Elder Scrolls VI.
- In 2007, Zenimax Media created a new subsidiary called Zenimax Online Studios, led by Matt Firor, whose purpose was to develop ESO.
- In 2020, Microsoft acquired Zenimax Media and all its subsidiaries, including Bethesda Game Studios and Zenimax Online Studios, but also id Software (Quake, Doom), Arkane (Dishonored, Prey), and MachineGames (Wolfenstein).

Correct, and this is why the mmo community is a mess. You have people who don't believe in facts; they refuse to see what's right in front of them. You can't even convince them that Microsoft owns it all. They will keep believing that everything is separate from the other.

If these changes don't turn things around, I suspect ESO will go the way of New World in 2027.

The devs have been unable to see how divided the community is, we had a good split of content for casuals (overland) and end game min maxers (hm group dungeons, trials) but now story bosses are too hard for some players and world bosses have huge health pools and no one does them. I’m afraid the harder overland will be a ton of work that interests a very few players for a very short time before they are bored again. I have no desire to go and do everything again at this point, I want new stuff to do. If that is all of the “new content” we get, then it’s a huge disappointment.
