Feature request: Import character settings

Hi there!
So, I'm someone who really enjoys making alts, sometimes just to test a character concept for a few levels, sometimes to keep them. Over the years, I've grown very familiar with the menu settings routine to repeat each time, and it's grown to be something of a thing to dread. (Joking; just in case. Mostly.)

Another game that had the same problem (the one with the catgirls) introduced a feature not long ago that lets you import the menu settings of an existing character to another, saving nerves and a lot of clicking.
I'd really like it if we could get that in ESO, too. So if you're looking for a QOL feature to add to your development pipeline, here's one that'd make me very happy.

There is an addon that does this. Should be part of the QoL improvements along with others but in the meantime:

Don't think it has made it to console yet.

Not on console, but we have "FavOptions" which allows you to save one character's settings as favourite, coloring those options in green when selected on another character, or red if set wrong. So you can have an easier time copying settings by yourself on your alts, not having to go by memory.

FYI you are allowed to name other games in this forum and if you're using them as an example it's helpful to do that.

I've been using synced account settings for ages and it's great, but I'd still like to see this added as an option players can enable in the base game if they want it, so I don't have to reply on an addon that may stop working when there's an update.

I can think of about a dozen addons off the top of my head that should be part of the game. Harven and Votan's addons spring to mind most. Oh and Code's combat and extended journal addons.

Man, I just want to finally save my sliders for character creation. Those take a ton of effort to screenshot and reproduce, and even putting some numbers on the sliders would do wonders (my tinfoil hat conspiracy theory is that they rely on the minor but irritating discrepancies to churn Appearance Change purchases from we perfectionists.)

That said, yeah - this would be nice too. I'm not a fan of 3rd party anything but appreciate that folks made OP aware of what's out there .

I agree it's irritating but I don't think if could be a deliberate ploy to sell appearance change tokens because character creation has always worked that way and it was a few years before the tokens were introduced. (Originally they weren't going to have a cash shop at all.)

    I am, yes.

I'm going from memory here, so things may have changed.

I think Windows Power Toys gives you the ability to toggle your current window as "Always on Top" but you can set an opacity level.

So you could take screenshots of the sliders, the next time you do them. And then open them in the background at full screen and have the ESO window through Power Toys be see through. You could then see the exact position you set the sliders.

Not sure if it would work with ESO but just an idea.

It would be a lot easier if there was a toggle to make all settings account wide.

An addon like that will never exist on console, because one of the restrictions on console (that isn't present on PC) is that addons cannot change game settings.

Never looked at the Console API so was intrigued. They made SetSettings private, but I wouldn't go as far as to say never. Console addons are still in the early stages, so they may synchronize the API's over time.
