Did you buy the 2025 season pass?

When it goes on sale for $15 I'll buy it.

This is an informed decision on my part based upon the quantity and quality of Solstice and related content. The only thing in Solstice that interests me in the slightest is one of the mythic items. One in game item will never be worth more than $15 real money. Plus, ZOS is driving me away from the game with vengeance.

It was the first content that I didn't preorder. But I did eventually buy it, and I regret paying full price for it. This was the first release I didn't complete the side quests. Forced myself through the main story. I didn't even get the full stickerbook for the zone yet. There's just no point. If this release is what the Content Pass content is like, I'm not going to be buying them.

I can just tell I'm pretty much done with the game for now. My yearly sub is cancelled, and will expire in December I think. I'm not planning on renewing it until next year's content launches AND I feel it's appealing. I feel like the full year's content isn't ready until the end of the year anyways.

Bought just now on sale after finally finishing Deadlands. I'll return to the content between Deadlands and this year after this year for the sake of continuity of this story. I would have waited for the end of the year, but I wanted to include this event in the narrative.

One downside is I already got a story spoiler from the event, which was poor planning by ZOS.

I bought the standard and it's looking like a puss poor investment at the moment. I say it on every comment, this is about shareholders profit vs customer experience from now on. ZOS doesn't understand the latter would strengthen the former.

What's the difference between option 1 & 2? I see standard and premium editions of the game, and I see Content Pass, which I did get.

Yes I bought it and i did like solstice as a zone and I liked the quests and seeing familiar npc characters come back. I do like the fellowship of the stirk storyline. The furnishings are great and I enjoyed the dailies.

Im not excited about this ww event thus far but things could surprise me moving forwards on the next 2 phases. Im looking forward to the wall coming down and moving to the next bit of solstice

Probably one of the few who is happy with my purchase. I've been enjoying the quests and the most recent 2 dungeons. Not having to chase down a crown seller to get me the 2 dungeon DLCs and just knowing I'll have access to them was nice. I do understand the value cut though, especially for people who hate DLC dungeons.

I preordered it on discount and got a free copy. Success, I am unsure. Overall I like the zone and the four dungeons. I am a little upset about the quality of testing and lack of bug fixes with existing systems though. I wouldn't have pre-ordered it had I known what I do now, and would likely have waited for free copies or 60-70% discounts.

I buy the "chapter" full price every year for launch, I usually sub 3-12 months a year depending on if the content they're releasing is valuable or interesting to me.

This is by far the worst year they've ever produced. If this is the future of content passes and base game update changes (sets, classes, skills) the game is on a downward spiral I can't be a part of.

I hope they prove me wrong with 2026, but so far I feel ripped off.

If the premium edition is the one that includes all previous chapters, then I bought the standard edition, because I already had all previous chapters, as well as all zone and dungeon DLCs.

Pre-ordered for main account, always do every year.

Actually just about to buy for one of my other accounts, I know it will likely be cheaper still at Xmas but now I've worked out where to farm for the event I find myself also wanting access to the Seige Camp quests on this account! B)

I bought the standard edition, and find it disappointing. I live and breathe for story content, and there is so little story that I'm starving at the lack. Frankly, I hate the whole writhing wall angle; it's a flimsy story thread to artificially deny and delay what's left of the new zone to those of us who have already paid for it. Can't wait for it to be over.

If I had to describe how I feel about ESO in 2025, I can sum it all up in one word - sad.

Yes, I did. I knew it would be light on content because it's a transition year. Next year is kinda make or break for me. I want to see what they transition too but if this Writhing Wall event is the type of "big" changes then unfortunately I'll have to bounce. Which would be a shame because I've been a huge Elder Scrolls fan for like 20 years.

There’s been so little content that honestly it feels like it should be time for the next chapter. Since I’ve done all of the other zones content already, there’s not much for me to do and for the first time ever I am bored. Also disappointed in the event, too much competition for drops to be fun. This event should be “I wish I had more time to participate” instead of “I hope this is the last quest I have to do.”

I pre-ordered the Standard Content Pass because I owned everything else, and wanted to support ZOS in their new direction.

As much as I love new regions of the map to be explored, ESO has been severely lacking in updates to it’s existing “systems” and 2025 was supposed to be the year where everything got proper support, but since the end of 2024, we haven’t seen any meaningful changes to our activities.

All of the in-game guilds have languished, and are in desperate need of something… and I’m not talking rewards. As great as it is to have awesome rewards for activities, the real reward has to BE the activity itself. If Heists, Sacraments, or Fighter’s/Mage’s guild dailies are dreadfully boring, we’re just going to hate ZOS while we’re farming them.

I just want to have fun playing the game, but nothing has changed in years.

I agree with you but minor correction they did tell us 2025 was a transition year ahead of time. It's 2026 that is supposed to be the big shift, iirc. I'm not optimistic about it after seeing the event, personally. So I share your feelings on the current way things are going. But I also think it's worth mentioning in all fairness that this warned ahead of time as a year of transition.

It was pretty cool to have a set idea I proposed added in the eastern half of Solstice, so I don't regret buying the expansion. I'm just a little burnt out of ESO right now, so I'll return to experience the rest of the content later.

I still worried that will turn out to mean "we were already making a new zone and story so we released that instead of scrapping it, in future it will be a standard 'season pass' model with only tempoary additions to existing content".

I'm thinking the same. If these were the plans, I really hope ZOS reconsiders them after even the announcement about removing the Writhing Fortress again after the current event was received rather poorly by the playerbase.

What I can clearly say is that I will not pay money for only temporary content.

Not only because I don't consider this worth my money, but also because I don't want to support this practice as I don't think it contributes to ESO long-term. Imagine they had already done that in the past and Vvardenfell or even just the West Weald would have disappeared again after a year - what a waste that would have been!

Bought it at a discount and paused ESO+ for a while, which resulted in a somewhat acceptable price. Solstice is still not a lot of stuff, and often not very memorable.

Still, if they scale down content, they need to make sure the price reflects that.

For the last expansion I waited for it to go on sale. The season's pass I haven't bought at all and I'm not going to. I've never liked and participated in time limited events anyway, so the whole Writhing wall thing was a deal breaker for me. Frankly I feel more and more disconnected from the game. Subclassing didn't help: another unfun mountain to climb. There's so much of that in this game already. On top of the ever swelling tide of fetch quests and other boring repetitive stuff that only seem worth engaging in if one is obsessed with collecting digital trinkets. Hard to imagine that when I bought this game over a decade ago, it had none of that at all. I remember getting the senche mount as a 'loyalty reward' and thinking 'what the .... is this doing in the game?' Nowadays it's one of the more sane and grounded things one can find.
Please stop making requests for game features. ZOS have enough bad ideas as it is!
