The daedric war celebration is one of my favorite events. Probably because I love summerset so much (upon mention of summerset: obligatory request for summerset structural furnishings, as it released before the modular roof, wall and structural furnishings really became a thing).
I don't love everything being crowded all the time, but I really agree with zone events being great fun, and making one or a few zones feel really vibrant. It sort of reminds me of old-eso times where zone chat was alive with requests, and you would get 3 invites when you asked someone to share daily zone quests - now people just tell me to relog and pickup quests on another character ><

Sunport style has the Alinor walls and other structural furniture, though sadly no roof. You can get them via the Solstice daily quests
zone events do happen, there is at least 2 a year.
Pan Tamriel celebration was in January and it included every zone.
The Writhing Wall event in October is the first Solstice event.
And we are getting Daedric War celebration again in November. for Vvardenfell, Clockwork City, and Summerset.
regular small zone events without event tickets would be fun too. i saw something like that mentioned in the recent Reddit q&a and 3 zos members responded positively.

A zone-themed-weekend with some extra incentives to go back to an old zone would be fun, and would be a big help for newer players who often struggle to find help with public dungeons and bosses as zones age and the population in them dwindles.
