PvP's getting shafted again.

There is no such thing as "reality" or "common sense". What's reality and common sense to one person is often totally different for another. I could give many examples to prove my point, but political and economic issues are just one example of how informed, educated people can look at the same data and arrive at completely different conclusions.

Why are you giving a sophomoric explanation of relativism in a video game forum, while completely misunderstanding relativism? There's an objective reality.

Vengeance campaign, meant for testing high volumes of players in Cyrodiil, returns September 22nd-29th. Great!
The Undaunted Celebration, the most grindy, and one of the most popular, PvE events returns September 18th-30th.

So PvP, already struggling, is supposed to be getting one of its rare performance tests during the biggest, or at least one of the biggest, PvE events of the year. Can't wait for lower population numbers to be blamed on overall lack of interest, just like lower WM pop earlier this year (when WM is up there with Witches Festival for worthless rewards).

I don't want to be a conspiracy theorist but surely they can't be this clueless?

I think it's actually a great idea. If Vengeance is high pop during one of the biggest PVE events of the year, that's a clear and decisive vote by the player-base that this is something that they really really want.

If its not high pop then the opposite - that there isn't interest - isn't inherently true, and I think ZOS is smart enough to recognize that.

lol its not, we shall see this weekend.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz boring. This is stupid trash talk like kids try.

PVP is fun when the skills are ok, mechanics are stable, exploits minimal, the lag is minimal and everyone has a chance.

vengeance has been so empty you cant test performance issues.

that tells you the changes are extremely unpopular. the population went from full to EMPTY.

TESTING IS IRRELEVANT SINCE THE VENGEANCE CAMPAIGN IS DEAD. YOU CANT TEST PERFORMANCE ON A DEAD SERVER.

Bad business decision! the numbers speak for themselves!!!

The timing lining up with the undaunted event is so weird. Could be on purpose since zos hardly changed anything this test. So now they can see the population differences to gauge popularity? This test 3 was actually aimed to see how much of the population is PVE players.

It seems since they want to do two weeks on the december vengeance 4 test we may also see them try to target the pvp audience. If the Greyhost server is active this means they can gauge that loss in vengeance population as pvp preference. These would be compared against the 1st and 2nd mandatory tests to figure out the possible population and preference.

Vengeance is still loaded with tons of new players though. At the very least we have some hope that there is an untapped population of people waiting to pvp if things were to be fixed. Kinda points towards getting rid of the dead u50 and nocp campaigns to have vengeance as a learning campaign as they add to it. Then they could use it for test weeks as events to collect data and implement rule changes on live to help performance.

Except it's not. Today's guild raid was the least populated I've ever seen the servers, ever. Our one 12 man raid group took the entire map and all scrolls in less than 90 minutes today. We were the only players on for any faction. When we were done we just called the group because there was nothing left to do and nobody trying to stop us.

    Its not what?

I dont know what server or timezone you are on so I cant tell how representative you are being. Primetime PCNA from 8pmEST to about 12pm EST had plenty of people playing. Im sure you can understand that if you are experiencing 6am on a tuesday workweek during one of the largest PVE events.....of course the population would be low. This round of vengeance was setup to have a low population, timing it with a pve event.

During this primetime there were new players all over the place. There were a crazy amount of low level and lowcp players online. You can even see from the combat when an entire keep seige is flooded with disorganized randoms running around instead of dedicated ballgroups moving as one cohesive group.

That's OK! I shut down my subscription in protest. Yeah I'm just one player, but my money will be pumping into another game until this nonsense is sorted out (if ever)!

And I have kids' who like to game with me too, so their subscriptions wont be active either.
