ZOS had the right idea with those Behemoths in that one dungeon. I'd love to see more of that to be honest.

It's a shame that nobody from ZOS has anything to add here, I'm sure if they were planning something they'd have told us by now.

Although there have been times where ZOS has listened to feedback about werewolf, it definitely feels like werewolf gets far less attention than classes do — despite werewolf being another mutually exclusive playstyle entirely.

I'd honestly have expected more people to care about it since any class can become a werewolf, but I suppose it has to be popular to get updates, and it needs updates to get popular.

One thing I would like added is the morph timer being stopped between BG deathmatch rounds. I prefer the berserker ult morph however to stay in werewolf between rounds I sometimes need to pop a ravage health potion.

Seriously, just stop the timer between rounds lol. I dont want to run the pack leader morph :)

Can we just update the werewolf form to look like a mini-wereworld behemoth or something? The original werewolf is so outdated at this point. It looks like a were-squirrel

I agree — even just a reduction in the cost of the ultimate would be a nice quality-of-life change for Werewolf, in my opinion.

Personally, I’d like to be able to enter Wolf Form at any time for free if the ultimate is double-barred, since then I clearly have no other use for my ultimate.

Yes however it’s very important to not have anything in the snake blood passive in the alchemy crafting skill line or it won’t work properly.

I honestly think that a cool theing they could do would be to make ultimate actually function when transformed - so you could ult while in wereform to do some attack or whatever (just take the behemoth's leap, idk), and then it's not like Heroism is a useless buff. Seriously, what logic is it that hitting the ult button by accident reverts your form and leaves you with 0 ult? And if someone does want to revert form, then just wait the timer out or set it up so you can right-click the buff in the character menu so you don't accidentally do it during combat.

But I did come up with a really cool idea recently that they're not going to do but would be amazing: make the transformation work with Scribing.
    • Remove the Werewolf transformation and both its morphs, and refund the skill points
    • Set it so that Werewolf Transformation functions as a Scribed skill, and then you can adapt as you want. Hircine gives you a basic setup with default Scripts installed, and then you can use a Scribing altar to modify it
    • Give the transformation an ultimate as described above
The Scripts I'd say would be
    • Focus Scripts define the damage type of your light and heavy attacks do. I'd prefer the color of the transformation to be unrelated to anything, but this would also fit to have phys = brown, frost = white, etc.
      • Bleed Damage
      • Disease Damage
      • Frost Damage
      • Magic Damage (also converts the other skills to mag cost)
      • Physical Damage (default)
      • Poison Damage
    • Signature Scripts augment your transformation
      • Assassin's Misery: all attacks apply Hemmorhaging and Sundered every X seconds
      • Druid's Resurgence: heavy attacks restore X% more resources
      • Gladiator's Tenacity: take 10% less damage
      • Growing Impact: summon two direwolf pets
      • Hunter's Snare: all attacks snare enemies by X% every X seconds
      • Leeching Thirst: all attacks heal you for X% of damage done
      • Lingering Torment: light attacks gain a bleed over time (default)
      • Wayfarer's Mastery: light attacks apply Terrified to the enemy for X seconds
    • Affix Scripts apply a permanent minor buff to you
      • Berserk
      • Brutality/Sorcery (default)
      • Courage
      • Empower
      • Expedition
      • Force
      • Heroism
      • Savagery/Prophecy
I'd also make it so the base skill offers the same tooltip as the current unmorphed skill: Transform into a beast, fearing nearby enemies for 3 seconds. While transformed, your Max Stamina is increased by 30%. While slotted, your Stamina Recovery is increased by 15%.

That... could also lead to something I'd really also like to see: new Grimoires for alternate transformations...
I'm imagining a werebear version that affects health instead of stam for the base skill, and then a wereboar to round it out for magicka. It could even be set up so each of those forms has a different ultimate but the other skills stay the same.
  • Silvains_Demon
To be honest, I hope Werewolf and Vampire get a rework. Making them both toggleable would be a great start (I'm more of a vampire player than werewolf if I have a choice between the two curses. The Vampire Ult "Perfect Scion" could definitely be just the Magicka version of Werewolf in format while base and "Swarming Scion" stay with the Necromancer's "Bone Goliath Transformation" format).

For instance, I tried making some discussions already for reworks (which I have to revise, update, and push back out to try making it more appealing and that can still work).

If you have the time, you can just check them out through my account or I can post them here. The vampire one is a bit cluttered so I kinda want to make a new discussion later on.

How do you balance that against the rest of the game?

Unless you make the non-dungeon Behemoths the same strength as regular player characters, which feels kind of bad.

OTOH, it would be nice if WW players were transformed by default and then the Behemoth was their ultimate. Which would allow it to be more powerful a more like the form experienced in the dungeon.

Regarding Werewolf Grimoires, I hope they'll get to use Class Mastery. Necromancer Werewolf could make a corpse they can feed on, Arcanist Werewolf can have a way to generate Crux (useful for certain Class passives), and Sorcerer Werewolf will get a way of crosshealing if they choose Pack Leader and have their Dire Wolves (their 2 permanent pets) attack enemies to heal allies, or deal Shock Damage if they choose Werewolf Berserker.

As for Wayfarer's Mastery, I think the obvious Werewolf Passive Ability to leverage would be Blood Rage, which just adds more time to the transformation. Ideally this would be a great way to help solo players stay transformed longer. My hope is to make a group support ability that can add transformation time to every transformed werewolf in your group.

Alternatively, as mentioned above, the new Terrified effect could be leveraged instead, either making your Scribed ability deal extra damage to Terrified enemies, or applying the Terrified effect to them.

Oh i meant more how they just did a copy and paste of goliath and made it overall worse in every way. Not to mention the vamp ult was always loved for the fact that you could gen ult during it with the survivability to eat groups when outnumbered.

Closest thing to that now adays is making a northern storm and pale order build......but they also tried their hardest to remove pale order from a usability standpoint.

I would love if we were finally allowed to crossheal with either Hircine's Bounty + morphs or with a Werewolf Grimoire utilizing the Healing focus script. I've made a support werewolf setup that leverages item sets to crossheal and restore resources to allies, but I'd love to be able to do things like that with a Werewolf ability that I activate.

The Terrified effect should be outright removed when we get a Grimoire.

The whole reason we were introduced to that effect was because ZOS wanted damage dealer werewolves and tank werewolves to group together, and to use all five of their skills.

ZOS wants damage dealer werewolves to cast Ferocious Roar, which puts enemies on crowd control immunity, all for a damage buff which tank werewolves (who are obligated to use Deafening Roar) cannot source but can make use of. This is basically Inner Beast all over again, with damage dealers running a tanking skill for a minor damage buff.

Rather than tying Terrified to a crowd control skill because Werewolf players aren't trying to annoy their tanks, it could be put on a Grimoire instead, now that everyone has access to Scribing. Yes, that means tank werewolves can replace one of their Werewolf skills for this Werewolf Grimoire to source Terrified and still be able to taunt with Deafening Roar slotted.

If ZOS wants Werewolf players to use all of their skills, then just give us a Scribing skill to replace Roar with. Or, we could replace any of the other skills with this Grimoire. Werewolf would finally have some degree of build diversity.

Yeah, Scribing would also help put things into Werewolf's toolkit that it lacks, like a purge or Minor Resolve. It's why I'd rather see a Scribing ability added sooner than later, since balancing the base Werewolf abilities themselves has always been hit or miss.
