I am not looking forward to grinding one character through the mire that is veteran levelling let alone all of my characters. I really don't know why they can't just stop raising that bar on an experience that most people find distasteful.
City of Heroes is perfect example of a game which never raised the level cap and yet still rolled out great story arcs and content. Adding content and not forcing an unpleasant grind is a much more enjoyable experience.

This exactly.
To all the people acting like new content is REQUIRED to raise the level cap, that's total nonsense and you know it.
They could easily add content at the cap just fine.

OK, but what's the difference really?
VR ranks are pretty much entirely cosmetic, other than access to new gear. Is everyone really that upset about needing to upgrade their gear at some point in the future? You should see that as an opportunity.
By the time you get to VR13 you'll have been VR12 for at least a few weeks (unless you are an exploiter) and you'll be getting an opportunity to change something significant about your character for the first time in a while.
Again, what's the problem there?
Indeed.ChairGraveyard wrote: »This exactly.

Having your gear say VR16 instead of VR15 doesn't make it different, though. It's the same gear with a bigger number.ChairGraveyard wrote: »I am not looking forward to grinding one character through the mire that is veteran levelling let alone all of my characters. True, they don't have to, but I'm hoping they do. I for one don't want to be running round Tamriel in 2 years wearing the same VR15 gear as I always have. Looking no different from little Jonny who just started playing 4 months ago and already has all the gear I do.
Now maybe its bragging rights, maybe its vanity, but I want something to show for my commitment to the game. Even if its only a little sign above my head saying VR75 !

That's the point - it's the illusion of newness, and it's pointless.
I'd rather have more stuff to explore WITHOUT having a pointless grind attached.
You bring up an interesting point and I hope ESO does not go down the same treadmill for elitists design that SW TOR had. Be geared and know fights Anyone who has played TOR knows this basic elitist requirement for the harder group content.
I really hope we don't just have an end game consisting of a typical treadmill progression of doing Daily and Weeklies properly geared and knowing fights for group content.
The difference to WoW and SWTOR is, that grouping in those games only works for premades.
You either have a guild or you get into a pug from the chat. In both cases you will have someone in charge who is "elite" so to speak. Someone who has a very special idea how you MUST be if you want to enter. This makes the whole group content so difficult to access at these games.
ESO works different. The Dev´s answered my question at the last "ask us all" and they said, that everyone can go to the new Adventure Zones alone. You will be able to quest just like you do now at VR´s. No premade grouping required, but yes it will be hard, very hard.
Since it is so hard in the open world there, you can either use the group tool to find players, or you just tag along with others - no invite button needed or "proving your weight" necessary.
The trials and dungeons will be for your group, but you will be able to use the group tool for those as well.
They have a video up which explains this very well, three players are from the friend list and the fourth is a random form the tool. This will make that whole VR content accessible for players who might not have the time for a premade group.
We will need to see how this works out, I honestly hope that people will accept and adjust to the difficulty there and that they use the tool to group with others. If it works out, then ZO will have fixed one of the biggest issue´s at WoW, SWTOR & co. the Elite club that denies "casuals" content.
I like that solo casual players that don't want to be geared or know fights can tag along without having to pull their weight. So no private solo or group instances? Great news overall, thanks for pointing those facts out to me.
My impression was that the entire zone was instanced. Wheres the transcript for that ama?
Who said it 'wouldn't look' different? I'm hoping it would, I just meant I'd still be happy with just the rank. Those who have reached VR2 already know you get a new skin (disguise) to wear. No reason why they couldn't keep doing that every few VR levels !
Actually its losing players rather drastically....I don't know where you got its gaining players. Its falling harder and faster than SWTOR did before it went F2P.Its called "expanding" the game. BECAUSE of the subscription and the AWESOME job Zenimax is doing, they are not sitting in sweden, sipping on a cola with a blond on their side. They are working to improve, enhance, add features and make the game grow.
I wonder, how many players here just have 1 goal? Highest level then quit? I do not understand that.
ESO is gaining players, either you want to understand that or not, so Zenimax is working to extend the game. And you complain?!?!
I cannot believe people are actually complaining about having expansions(new zones, new dungeons, new levels) TOO often?

Translation: You guys don't play like me? You guy aren't playing ESO the right way!The game has endless entertainment for all.
If you even tried to read the forums or /zone chat you know that is simply not true.Relax, this game has addressed most all of the things that just made all other game's a bust.
- Bad and limited GUI options
- Bad banking system
- Lack of guild options
- No dueling
- Can't reply in mail
- Crappy guild store, lack of any real AH
- No underwater swimming
- Bug ridden game
- No crime system. (might be in some day)
- Difficult to play in groups.
- Bad LFG system
- Can't even fix some bugs that have been in the game for over a year
- Bad communication with customers
- Laggy combat
Just to list a few things ESO might not have fully addressed yet.IMO, all you haters need slow down and enjoy.
People don't come here because they hate the game. They come here becuase they love the game and want it fixed.
Fanbois need to stop calling others haters. Haters just leave the game. We are here to try to salvage the game from the rubble. Its the best MMO ever.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I have to say, you sure set that bar pretty low.
I will say there are aspects of the game that are nice, but overall they have a long way to go before they can be looked at as a great MMO, IMHO.

I'll never understand that mindset... I'm not saying it's wrong, but I just don't get it.
How are people getting to these levels so quickly? it's taken me 3 weeks to get to level 27 and I play 15 hours a day.
Same here, and I started on 1 day in 5 days early access.
Do you have any addons? There are quite a few that helps you get the best EXP. I would NEVER use those....then it wasn't me who got highest lvl. Was the addons.
Even the addon which is very very good. The skyshard addon which shows you exectly where the skyshards are. I don't use that.
Why? Because EVERY time I find a skyshard, I get happy as hell! And there are a bunch good tips in the lorebook where they are located, so hunting for skyshards is one of the many things I do....maybe not give me much exp, but it gives me a HELL of a good playing experience.
Also, do you spend time talking to others, building a guild, exploring, tradeskillng or a bunch of other none combat things I can think of.
Maybe you help friends? (You only get exp and loot from mobs 5 levels lower then you....which is awesome!)
I am level 33 and play minimum 12 hours a day. I have yet to have a single SECOND of boredome. I love this game.
Oh, I spend quite some time sorting the guildbank, but its worth it because my guild actually works quite well regarding guildbank. Take out something, tradeskill, make stuff, put in. After someone been out adventuring, they put stuff in GB where someone else can use it.
I am HAPPY spending1-2 hours sorting things out when it works so well.
Also, those who reached highest level like in a week, most are not playing anymore. Also, those who are reaching it are "bored". They dont know it or admit it, but they missed more then half the game because of "grinding".
I rather have fun, do different things. Find one of thousands odd things around Tamriel which most are not in any "guide" yet. In short, most people (not all) who are highest level are using the "WoW" model. How to get the best exp as fast as possible. Sure....you can do that, if you are not interested in finding a quest like a dark elf asking to pay for your soul. I stumbled into this one while exploring and 500 gold at the time was much to me (still is), but since I am an Orc and proud and honor guides me, I would never sell my soul. So I didn't. I am still curious what would happend! Hehe.

I think we feel bad for you. You clearly have no clue what this thread is about. I'm VR10 and there is plenty to do. I'm having fun out in Cyrodiil. I didn't skip any content. People are upset because the level grinding is boring and if they keep adding VR content then they are afraid it's going to be the same boring rinse and repeat cycle over and over again. It's one thing to raise the level cap every 2 years, it's another thing to raise it up every 2 months. Real end game content needs to be added, not more senseless and useless quests.
But not necessarily more levels. In a TES game. An expansion means more quest and more story.Debisibllaallb14_ESO wrote: »It's really hard for me to feel bad for the people who skipped most of the game to get to endgame, and are now upset that there's more game to be played.

You play 12 hours a day MINIMUM? Damn dude, get a job, life, or just go outside for a bit! Makes my 1.5 hour nights look well disciplined. There is a real world outside your door, not everything is virtual.
