Ya, like creating a greater demand from a more limited supply. Just plain dumb.Well, ZOS can only have so much influence outside the game, when people open their browsers and make bad choices. BUT, they can affect the in-game issue of bots and sellers.
These bots are literally OUT OF CONTROL. lol

Maybe some type of name verification is needed? Like no characters created using short random letter names.

This game reminds me of Roddy Piper's movie, They Live.
Where he puts on those special sunglasses and he's able to see that normal-looking people are in fact ugly aliens in charge of a massive campaign to keep humans subdued.
You'd think the GMs would have a relatively easy time banning those, since they stick out like sore thumbs.CombatBeard wrote: »This has been happening since before Thursday's maintenance. There has been a constant stream of lvl 2 and 3s still wearing rags coming out of the wayshrine in Windhelm. They head over to Thane Mera, then to the Cold Moon Inn and so on.
From what I've seen, the stupid botters (Level 3, prison garb, agflkgja-type names) seem to spam accounts and activate bots just long enough to grab some gold, then they kill themselves off so that reporting them is useless.
My guess is that they've found an algorithm that allows them to spawn eight bots at once, on several accounts, kill them off quickly, and re-spawn more. Rinse and repeat.
... and those are stupidly, short-sighted ones. Then there are the ones like this:Those cats use bots to actually play and level up characters, and many of them are being quite successful.
- This is still BETA, therefore it is not done yet (also not all tutorials are written) nor does this represent the final version!
- We didn't finish the dx11 drawing yet, so you NEED TO RUN ESO IN DX9 (windows XP compatibility mode)!
- Start eso first, then start the minion launcher.
- You ALWAYS need to run the minion launcher with ADMIN RIGHTS!
- When promted, enter ANY (but unique !!) key / password when it asks you to enter it. (unique so noone else is using the same, else you get kicked after 3min)

They bandaid fixed the Coldharbour quest (allowed you to get gold with no effort in 2-3 minutes, without fighting).
The bots just moved on to other quests they can do the same thing with, and this is the result.
A REAL FIX is to limit character deletions to like 2 per day, with additional ones being behind an email access code, ala the you get when accessing from a new computer.
Real players don't constantly delete characters, so the limit wouldn't impact any of us, but would totally screw up the botters who are just making a character, running it through this one quest and deleting it.
Further, players could just enable more deletions via the access code, while botters wouldn't be able to keep up with it.

This strikes me as marketing.
You have been leaving this kind of information all over the forums.
Surely that is not your intention?
They have infested every low-level starting point. There are a ton of them in BleakRock right now. I'm getting so tired of this. I really think it's time I un-sub, this is really making the game completely un-enjoyable.
