You can really have two kind of end game dynamics.
    Method 1
-This is where you reach the level cap within a month or two and then spend your remaining time respecing, min-maxing and getting the very best gear. Then once in a while there is a new major expansion where you add a handful of levels. People spend a few weeks getting to the cap, they toss their old gear and start over on maxing everything. If you can upgrade your entire set of equipment it's basically a no-brainer. Everyone are going to do it.

    Method 2.
    - This is where few levels are added on more regular basis. While you will spend some time at the cap, and trying to min-max your stuff, you will still need to move on within too long when the next level is added. So making that full set of legenday armor is no longer going to be a no-brainer. Maybe you want to go for max power at the next cap instead.

Method 1 is really common in MMO's but it seems that here we are going more for method 2. Method 2 comes with harder decisions for the players and more uncertainty as things evolve constantly. Maybe we wont see that many V12 players with legenday sets because many will save them for V13 or V15. But the ones who did upgrade the set at V12 would have a nice advantage... for a while. Tough choices. Thats what ESO is all about!

So you base your argument on that fact that in sometime at a future date they will increase VR to 13 or even 20 someday? Given that they already confirmed that they raise VR to 12 in 1.1? OK.

Quest more and explore / mob grind (in non mob grinding areas) / mat hunt less. I am only striving to get my main to VR1 to make cyrodill fun and to get mats... then I will take one of my alts and fully enjoy the quests... but havent got there yet either and I've been here since pre-release...

Truely leveling after say 35 is easy peasy...

My basic problem is the leveling. Doesn't matter when they increase the level cap...When I started the game what I knew was VR10 is the maximum. I accepted it. But I don't agree the continuous lvl increases.

I'm not really a pvp'er but I suspect this cap increase will just further break what I understand to be an already pretty broken pvp system
And so did many brave men, women, and beast fall to the end of Beta, never to be heard from again. All that is left, is whispers of the adventures they had.

That's exactly why you don't get it. You still have good quests to do. Quests at VR1 are, let's say, at least 80% poor plots that give you no desire to go on and see what happens.
When you get there, you'll see why people are bored. I've done 75% of VR1 now and I am bored. It is not about difficulty, I've leveled solo an assassin and, after that, an assassin cross on Ragnarok, I could say I know one thing or two about slow leveling. The problem is, it is just boring, you don't get different dynamics, just more of the same and really, really poor plots.

    1. You think they stop at VR12? Why that number?
    2. Before VR12 was announced, there was a video with a VR12 character in it. What happened? Around 2 weeks later they made it official.

Cancelled my subscription already. I'm still paid up till the end of the month. The only thing in this game that is any fun is Cyrodiil. I'm not doing anymore boring quests to level up. If I can't level up in Cyrodiil then I will not re-up again. It was supposed to be play how you want but it's anything but.

Aha, so suddenly a MMO rising its level caps in the past, present, or future is a bad thing? I knew this was only ZOS' fault. Again.

ZOS, I still haven't forgiven you for making my T1 Giantstalker set obsolete back in '06. I loved that set, dammit!

At first sight I'm the same. Given VR11-VR12 content is group-only I fear this means ESO is to become a 1990s group-or die affair.

You bring up an interesting point and I hope ESO does not go down the same treadmill for elitists design that SW TOR had. Be geared and know fights Anyone who has played TOR knows this basic elitist requirement for the harder group content.

I really hope we don't just have an end game consisting of a typical treadmill progression of doing Daily and Weeklies properly geared and knowing fights for group content.

the vet levels feels just like Borderlands 2 OP levels, they even work the same way in this game.

i just hope it doesnt turn into "the one build that rules them all" or "the one build required to not die over 9000 times" or "the one build required to not get kicked from group".

BL2 woulda been better if they didnt balance their game around 1 or 2 specific build and exact gear set ups for those builds.

BL2 also never did buff weak(er) skills and passives to make them attractive versus "the build that rules them all".

anyway just saying i hope they dont take the same turn BL2 did with with their "Vet/OP" levels.

im sure someone might argue the opposite and say that there would have been no challenge etc..etc..

btw, those that dont know, BL2 was a 1 to 4 player game so not exactly an MMO, but still relevant to what it looks like is going on here in ESO.

    as always just my opinion.

I dont see a problem with the pve aspect of VR levels as u get ur levels as u do pve content. U finish a map from one of the other allies, here u get ur reward, a new VR lv. Most likely with carglon thing would end up being the same, once u finish all carglon content ull end up VR 12 and with future content it will end up like this as well.

But the main problem is that there no alternatives to VR lvs other than pve. Maybe i woulndt mind much if vr 1-10 was still under my own alliance or if getting vr lv in pvp was more viable.

But i dont like the idea of being force to play the other allies content, specially when half the time im fighting my own alliance. Why should i do that? The DC got ur city? let me help them by killing u and ur friend here so that u cant get it back, thats what i should be doing, not acepting a quest that demands me to kill my fellow comrades.

Now that i think about it. It would have been more interesting to play on the other maps as and invading force taking over their land, helping my king rule over all tamariel than doing their campaign as if i just started a toon on that alliance

The difference to WoW and SWTOR is, that grouping in those games only works for premades.

You either have a guild or you get into a pug from the chat. In both cases you will have someone in charge who is "elite" so to speak. Someone who has a very special idea how you MUST be if you want to enter. This makes the whole group content so difficult to access at these games.

ESO works different. The Dev´s answered my question at the last "ask us all" and they said, that everyone can go to the new Adventure Zones alone. You will be able to quest just like you do now at VR´s. No premade grouping required, but yes it will be hard, very hard.

Since it is so hard in the open world there, you can either use the group tool to find players, or you just tag along with others - no invite button needed or "proving your weight" necessary.

The trials and dungeons will be for your group, but you will be able to use the group tool for those as well.

They have a video up which explains this very well, three players are from the friend list and the fourth is a random form the tool. This will make that whole VR content accessible for players who might not have the time for a premade group.

We will need to see how this works out, I honestly hope that people will accept and adjust to the difficulty there and that they use the tool to group with others. If it works out, then ZO will have fixed one of the biggest issue´s at WoW, SWTOR & co. the Elite club that denies "casuals" content.

    Besides that,

the Dev´s said we will get content for solo gamers as well, spell crafting, new NPC factions like Dark Brotherhood and Thieves, Dyeing, Crafting overhaul ... They want variety and not a new raid every 5 months only. Yes they could also tell us that we will never see Panda´s and then they come, but I honestly believe them. Maybe in one year I will think different and be proven wrong, but right now I give them a chance to prove their word and so far they have not disappointed me at all. (just housing is missing --> minor whine"

I am not looking forward to the VR grind. Why?
Because Im thinking of making a new character, but I wont because VR grind diminishes the fun in that completely.

I HOPE they will add a way around the VR in the future when making a new character, either speed the exp up, or make something like DAoc (you could get your character instantly to lvl 20ish or something, if your main was max level, something like that).

Yeah, something like that. Quests you would actually want to finish and see what happens next. I know I'll have fun with the Dark Brotherhood line, because it was my favorite quest line in skyrim. But I'll still have to do infinite meaningless quests if I want to level up.

Bringing up the Ragnarok example, I have to admit, that's hardcore leveling (or was, when I used to play). However, you did have a lot of different leveling dynamics to choose. You could solo if you want focusing in single target, you could level as a mober for a group or solo, guild dungeons allowing leveling and pvp at the same time.

Here we just have one option and I am not really adapting to the lack of alternative for "I lost my sword, can you help me find it?" quests.

I'm enjoying VR content. I disagree that the quests are bland etc as stated above, as they are exactly the same quests you would have received if you had played that Faction initially, but with higher difficulty.

I've been playing MMO's since UO beta, and I've never been into the 'endgame' repeat raid / daily quests ad nausium. I'm one of the more casual players, and will play till level cap. If I'm forced to repeat the same content repeatedly , then I quit and find another game (and never post complaints about it on the games forums!). No biggie.

To me, adding more VR levels will probably keep me subbing. Especially if more content gets added on a fairly quick schedule as ZO has already stated they would :)

Since forever....if they stopped adding /content/lvls then most players would quit and whine about it once they hit the current "Endgame" so they must keep making more so called "Endgame" to keep us playing /interested. Sort of like dangling the carrot from the stick , but it is a balancing act to try to keep everyone happy, the slow levelers and the fast levelers , if they can do that right then the game could go on for years as any good MMO does.

Hopefully ESO won't become like UO where they extended the game by simply adding more and more damage sponges without really thinking about the story. Effectively the new levels/dungeons became another area where you needed to be x level with y number of people to survive it.
