Mounts can swim! (finally!)

Just wanted to give kudos to the devs for finally teaching mounts how to swim. Looking forward to this U47 QoL improvement.

No, from what was said in the stream, if there are slaughterfish, you and your mount will share the experience of being eaten alive lol.

What the hell!? Bro... They can’t even stop the server from sinking, that’s all it’s been doing lately. And you really believe they can make mounts swim? The whole game feels like it’s sinking to the bottom of the ocean, and our hope is... swimming mounts!?

Yoo what? Completely missed this. I know this is technically a small change, but it's kind of a huge QoL. I get irrationally annoyed whenever water dismounts me. And it's kind of immersion breaking how your mount just disappears. So I'm all for this change.

Also saw surveys will stack (amazing). And the event ticket home looks absolutely beautiful (though only a screenshot so far and I imagine it will be a bit too big as always).

I'm sure the people who are responsible for the server stability and those who are responsible for the implementation of new features are different people who have never even seen each other. Those who implement new features can't just sit around without doing their job and wait for the guys from the server department to fix things.

Swimming mounts is definitely something I want, it really sucks not having it right now.

On one hand, it's definitely an improvement.

On the other... it's quite a minor one.

Frankly I don't know how much a feat of engineering it is, so yeah maybe it represent a very hard work from the devs and well congratulations to them, but somehow reducing the content released for that... I don't know.

Also because I was curious about the "the long-awaited and much-requested Mount Swimming functionality", I did a quick search throughout the pinned 'Top bug and pain points' topic, and found a grand total of... 4 requests for mount swimming. So I don't know, maybe the requests are somewhere else, but... I don't know my trust for ZOS words is a bit eroded here.

Bit off topic, did they get into the details of stackable survey maps ? In the article they say "Similar to Update 46’s stackable crafting writs", so I guess ( dread ) you will get stackable unknown survey maps which will reveal a specific survey map once opened ? I don't want to be pessimistic because of my ignorance, but if it is so... it's hardly a QoL improvement, I'm sorry to say. I hope I'm wrong here though.

Do the Argonian and the Ring of Wild hunt perks to swim speed also apply to the mount?
Watching the VOD and didn't see a response , although it's possible I missed it.

Yawn. I mean ok it's not a "bad" feature in and of itself. But there's no content in the water. There are a few places on the map that one has to swim to, sure. I guess it's a slightly better way to get from point A to point B. It'll probably even be fun for the first 10 seconds. Seems like there are tons of bigger fish they could fry.

This is one of the big QoL features I'm excited about. Sure, it's practically useless for many activities, but you always feel it when you happen to be dismounted due to water. I'm glad we won't have to deal with that anymore!

This was actually the first question that came to mind. Are the mounts going to swim in all those bodies of water that previously cased dismounting? Seeing your character swimming in a seemingly knee deep puddle is one thing. Seeing a whole horse/camel/bear disappearing into it would be interesting to say the least.

The swimming animation for the Dwemer spider mount will probably also look "interesting".
