Pressing the Q in combat doesn't seem to be working for me either. Wonder if it could be a CPU/Memory/Lag thing?

    @BlueAvenger‌

Ok, so my first post here may have come off a bit harsh, which wasn't really my intent.

I may be wrong, but it just seems you may not have played very many MMOs with crafting in them before. I can understand what you are saying in that Alchemy and most professions feel pretty useless in low levels in terms of making any kind of profit at all.

Sadly, this is really just the nature of a game like this. The VAST majority of MMO players do not look at leveling the way that you seem to from your post. I totally respect and think its awesome that you look at leveling as a huge part of the game and sort of a "journey" in that you want to absorb every aspect of it and really get the immersion on the way there.

Most MMO players look at leveling as "something they make me do as a time sink to get extra $$ out of me by making me take extra time to make it to max level so that I can play the REAL game." Most MMO players see leveling as a means to an end, rather than something to be enjoyed and try to rush through it as quickly as possible (just google "how to level fast in eso" and check out the vast results). I realize that there are a lot of players in this game that do not feel that way, but, there probably more that do.

So.......just like every other game I have ever played with crafting in it, the low level crafted items just do not have any real demand from the player base. It's not so much the fault of the developers as it is the nature of the beast, so to speak. I can think of one major MMO in which Alchemy is the ONLY way to get potions.....and lower level people STILL do not want them and see them as a waste of time and gold. This goes for pretty much every profession in that game.

I felt very underwhelmed by the demand and usefulness from the lower level crafted items as well, but I pretty much expected it based on past experiences. But, I can tell you, the demand is there in Vet levels. I am making nice profits from Potions, Food, Armor and Weapon sets and Enchanting. There is demand AND you can craft items much more efficiently with more points spent in your professions, such as being able to make 4 potions per attempt using one set of mats.

Just stick with it, enjoy making potions for yourself and friends for the time being. It will be rewarding in end game, especially if you are the type that will take the time to go and farm the herbs and materials.

There is one way to help "fix" alchemy in the low levels. Create diseases/curses that can only be cured with player created potions. Let's say at level 10, I'm fighting a monster that has poison as an ability. This poison has no timer, it just keeps ticking until I'm dead; unless of course I have a potion that cures it. You better believe I'm buying cure potions before I do the dungeon that has those monsters with poison. This game needs random disease/curses/poisons that occur when fighting enemies for potions to be viable in low levels.

I like this idea. Slow acting/long term diseases that can only be cured by the correct potion. (Not something that can simply be purged by a spell)

We could have crippling diseases (broken leg), debilitating diseases (frail stamina, loss of health, leaking magicka), mental problems (debilitating tic, blurred vision).

Ah well, it'll never happen - suggestions are rarely even looked at.

My word could you imagine the almighty whine from people if they added this.

Whilst myself I'd love it as it gives the game more depth you have those who would be saying it was unfair, that they didn't get enough option, they are being forced to either craft x item or buy it etc etc...

I think the biggest issue with alchemy and enchanting right now is that they are more tedious than other crafting skills, they also take up more inventory and bank space, if you are tying not to waste materials. This makes them a bigger time and money sink, with much less of an immediate pay off compared to armor and weapon crafts.

Alchemy is awesome. Multieffect potions are amazing. Plus, you can get hilarious uptime on crit\power potions with the right talents and jewelry.

I have level 50 in Alchemy and VR2:

Really potions made by Alchemy are much more powerful than those that drop in the game. You will notice the difference. And Allies you gifted potions will thank you. And the benefits end there.

The game really is so easy that you can not sell the potions because nobody will need them!If I make potions level 40 and put to sell for 8 or 10 Gold each and does not sell, something is wrong!

The Passives Medicinal use and Snakeblood simply DO NOT WORK. Test and you will see it. There are six skill points thrown in the TRASH.

And... there is NO USE FOR POISON!!!(Unless you want to kill yourself)

Rode a whole Build facing to Alchemy (Argonian, Nightblade with Siphoning, Jewelry with Reduce Speed Potion enchantment) and I am really disappointed.

PS:English is not my native language, so forgive me any error.

Huge bane on this craft is that literally every skill point is useless lol

A level 1 Potion of Invisibility grants invis for 3 secs which is no worse then a Veteran Rank 5 potion. All of the non recovery effects do not increase whatsoever and the healing pots drop like candy.

Snake blood doesn't work at all, crafting or consuming, and Medicinal Use effect only works on certain potions.

Only perks that are working is Chemistry which is amazing for personal use at best, and Labratory Use which hardly would make someone a master alchemist.

In my opinion, alchemy is a personal use skill. Not much profit (if any) in making potions and selling them to others. It is very very easy to level up so why spend your gold buying potions when you can make your own.

The alchemy potions themselves are very good so alchemy is far from useless.

Now the real money in alchemy is not in making potions and selling them (though there may be a market for VR5 potions that I haven't found). Rather it's in selling the reagents and solvents so that others can make their own. I see WTB this and that flower all the time in zone chats. 50 gold and up per flower. I won't sell my flowers because I use them for my own use but I do sell solvents sometimes. Only this morning I sold some level 50 and VR5 water for 60 gold and 110 gold each, respectively. Made a quick 8000 gold so all good.

Last I checked dropped potions only had 1 effect correct? Personally I always vendor dropped (unless I am desperate) and buy potions with 2-3 effects....alchemy is fine just how it is.

Can't wait until my alchemist can use 3 ingredients per potion! :)

I like this idea.. Not as a fix to Alchemy (because I find it incredibly useful already), but just as an addition to the game. There were lots of diseases one could catch in the game Morrowind so it makes sense for then to be here as well.

i kinda thing the lower levels just dont use the potions and food until they come up against a tough boss. remember how gold is so hard to get in the beginning? i know i vendored all and everything i could in the early days. a few hundred gold for potions is a horse feed (if you even have a horse) a repair job or a third of the first inv expansion

that could be why they arent selling. add in that new players usually arent in guilds with stores to even see the sales, or watching chat trade spam.

Biggest problem with Alchemy is that VR5 potions are the highest level potions that can be made. Otherwise potions are the biggest boost. Potions dropped by monsters are not even close to crafted potions.

I don't want to even count how many times crafted potions have saved my life and made going forward quicker than without. Health+Magicka+Spell Crit is my favorite potion and those help well. It's not the end of all boost, but still very helpful. My tank friend is using Health+Stamina+Unstoppable in tough spots and that effect is great too. There are many other 3 trait potions where all effects help a lot.
