the "community" per alliance

Just a question, many may not know the answer and its definitely not a simple yes or no.
Has anyone noticed a difference in the communities in each alliance?
For example, aldmeri Dominion is more prone to RPers and a social community, Ebonheart is a bunch of pvpers, etc.

I myself have only ever played Ebonheart, and have failed to notice any certain trend. But it would be interesting to hear if anyone else has.

I'm also considering starting a new character and changing alliances :)

Thanks for the feedback!

Im AD. I do not stare at zone chat but I have not seen many RP characters where I have been. A lot of crafting eccentric types and those who sell to them via WTS and WTB. There theoretically should not be much disparity between player types.

I play in DC, and zone chat is generally a bunch of trolls and immature people. Considering the consensus prior to release was that DC was going to be more of a mature playerbase, it just reinforces the idea that you should never trust prerelease opinion. I've met a few good people in groups, but the lack of communication in this game makes it difficult to tell if there's much else other than the zone chat crowd.

I ended up just turning zone chat off most of the time because it's horrendous to have to listen to.

I will note that I'm likely oversensitive to this sort of crowd though, since I always play on RP servers in other games, even if I don't plan on roleplaying. Helps weed out the kids that figured out what Dad's password is.

This is sometimes true for any of the alliances and, it would seem, MMOs in general. Does seem to be a little better at higher levels/ranks of PvE, but PvP is random as to what you get. Not sure how to compare to Daggerfall Covenant since I've no experience with their PvP zone chat. Is it really that bad all the time or is it the universal "weekend" thing?

I am primarily an Ebonheart Pact player, although I have characters in each Alliance. Thus far I've only spent considerable time on my Ebonheart Pact and Daggerfall Covenant characters. From the beginner zones alone on the Daggerfall side and up to Shadowfen for Ebonheart, the community changes with the time of day. Early morning to midday for me I notice more immature people, whereas during the afternoon or night, people in Zone chat have more sophisticated conversation - or there next to no conversation occuring other than the WTS/WTB/LFG and botspam.

The only time I've gone to PvP was to explore for Skyshards with my EB character, Zone chat was mostly "AD at x place" and "Press 333 for raid on x place" so I have no clue on what the community is like, other than PvP focused.

I've stumbled across a group of RPers in the Daggerfall Covenant, something I've never seen in the game before.

Community wise, I prefer that of the Ebonheart Pact (all of my guilds are allied with the Pact). I haven't seen anyone be openly condescending to questions asked (yet - knock on wood), unlike what I have seen in the Daggerfall Covenant. I'm sure there are plenty of mature players in all of the Alliances though.

DC seems to have the most gold-seller spam of the three. Make of that what you will :open_mouth:

It also feels more competitive. For example, players openly try and beat you to a node, whereas back in AD, they will usually leave it to you if they see you are headed that way too...it feels much more 'polite' in that sense.

"After you." "No, after you." "No really, I insist, you were there first."

My EP character is only L8 so I have had least experience of this faction. My impression at the moment is that it lies someone between AD and DC on a scale of polite_ _ _ _ _ _ _ ruthless.

My second char is a Breton and she got some boots of a friendly orc who wanted that she has warm feet. ;)

I don't know if this proves anything, as my other Char never got something from anyone at Ebonheart (she is a bit the evil type however)...

Looking through the forums I see a lot more RP guilds for AD than for the other factions.

To go completely into speculation, I get the idea that some wanting "darker" characters went with EP. Some wanting elves and shiny armor went with AD. People that said "You guys are all weird...I want to be normal" went with DC.

I'm sure there are many exceptions, but that's the perception I get sometimes. I play EP and honestly AD would probably be a better faction for me as far as the players go. But...then I'd be an Aldmeri and I'd just run off the nearest cliff to end it.

More creepy players in Ebonheart one. Ones that like to do disturbing "roleplay" unclothed where you are forced to see them. I have seen some in Daggerfall one, but LOTS more in the Ebonheart area. As for spam, it is bad in all areas. I usually disable all zone chat and yells within 2 min of a new character out of CH opener.
