Update: they're bugged, again. Been around zone to zone haven't seen one in a few hours. Also been seeing the old dark fissures again.

Edit: found another so they're not gone, but it's like they're spawning rate as slowed since I logged on.

Perhaps “Slayer of death itself” as an achievement is totally ironic?

I've had 3 on ps-eu, but incredibly slow to spawn, and of course mixed in with the other types of dark fissure

I spend like 2 hours and farmed around 20 of the mini dolmen Events in Deshaan on PC EU.
Not a signle one was a Soul Reaper device, so i guess they are still bugged on PC

Yeah I checked them late last night and they were not spawning on PC-NA.

No more are spawning, it's only the dark fissures now. I noticed yesterday logging in they were everywhere. But as it got latter in the day the reapers were diminishing. Places that were reapers I watched change to dark fissures when I returned latter. Since I went zone to zone for alot of these, I think this maybe an instance bug. Instances reset overtime, it's probably that those first made after maintance were eventually all closed. And the bug must be that new Instances are not updating to spawn reapers, instead old dark fissures, if Instances are the problem.

They spawn very rarely on PS-EU. I've only found a total of eight so far, in various areas. Two of each, but at the same spawn point. I noticed that the normal Dark Fissures spawned at the same spot throughout the day, and at many spots where they usually would, none spawned at all.
I don't know if the very low spawn rate is intentional. But it's very tedious, even in a group searching multiple areas at once.

Still zero on PS-EU that I’m aware of…no one in any of the guilds I’m in has found any either.

I've had 5 on ps-eu, 3 with the boss that drops fragments. Thats over many hours of hunting them specifically

It’s strange that they haven’t popped on PC since the first day (as far as I can tell). Then they started popping again on consoles after the patch this week and server reset. But now they are apparently becoming more rare or gone there.

Speculating that the mechanism to spawn these might be flawed and/bugged. If they only spawn for those who did the prologue, and when a player who hasn’t done it is the same area, then it fails to spawn and that node will only spawn mini dolmens again until server reset. Not sure if this is how they work or not.

In any event, they’re still not spawning and are apparently very rare when they do. I expect they’ll address this eventually but it doesn’t look like this is on their priority list to fix.

I tried to go on the PTS to test if they spawn there, but there are no spawns at all, not even the old ones.
I used to farm the Spot south of the grove of the Abomination and east to the Tower Mundus in Deshaan.

This is completely broken how is it that it’s not blowing up on forums as it is first new content update this year alongside dungeons?

Like I don’t get it. I don’t get @ZOS_Kevin not even saying “we see this” or anything, and I don’t get that out of bazillion players 4 are caring about new content. Like what am I missing here?

I've heard of them spawning on PS-EU, a guild mate claimed to have found 2, but I have yet to see one myself.
I think someone on PS-NA said they saw one too, but I was logging out when it came across guild chat.
I did a fair number of dark fissures on PS-NA today, but didn't get any.

They worked, briefly and brokenly. Days ago, before the hotfix. Now they don’t work at all.

Well worked after the patch the first day i found 2 then no more. So probebly something bugged in regards to respawning after it has been done ones

Been following this thread.

I love the concept! But as a PC player, they've never worked.

It's totally understandable if things have been delayed, or ZOS is working on fixing a bug (a whole infestation of them). But it is odd to have the achievement in the game (to hype players for the new content) but not address the fact that spawns are broken/missing. Even, as others have said, why not something as simple as "We're aware and working on it"?

I'd even understand if they have to remove the achievement and skip the mini-event.

I predict they’ll be working on PC for a short time tomorrow after the maintenance and then slowly break over the next few days as more players who haven’t done the prologue come into the area of the spawn points.

From today's patch notes:

The Skill Stylist: Soul Trap achievement, which unlocks the Soul Trap, Carmine Red skill style, now more accurately describes how it can be obtained.

So I logged in to the game and I don't see anything different that tells us how to really obtain the achievement.

Is the achievement fixed? If so, why not saying that in the patch notes?

Or is it still unobtainable?

@Dragonnord I've done 7 of them so far this morning on PC NA. Spawning where the Dark Fissures (mini-dolmens) drop in the original zones. I've been camping one spot that's respawning every 5 min 30 sec. I've gotten 2 of the "Harvested Soul Fragments" for the "Skill Stylist: Soul Trap" achievement over this time.

Update: I ended up getting 20 straight spawns (with 5 of the "Harvested Soul Fragments" collected) and then it started to be the old style every time. So I don't know what to make of that but I know I'm too bored to see if it changes back today LOL.

On PC-EU the Dark Fissures itselves are not spawning at all. I have been camping various spots in Stonefalls, Shadowfen and Malabal Tor, and they simply dont spawn, at least not for me. I have been camping each spot for well over 15 minutes.

Update: After another 30 minutes wait at a spawn in Auridon, the new "Dark Fissure" spawned.

They seem to be spawning now after today's patch. (PC-EU)
I hadn't found a single one before today, even after searching for 1.5 hours yesterday. But today I found 5 within 20 minutes.

How often are they spawning? I did the quest on my main and have several toons parked on dark fissure spawns but haven't seen a soul reaper device yet.

Yep, looks like it's broken again. I was able to find 3 Soul Reapers right after maintenance, but they stopped spawning then, only common Dark Fissures for now.

I have to agree, it’s disheartening to hear about these issues. And I wonder if once this is fixed, or if it just has a very low spawn rate, will these continue to happen after the update goes Live since they are tied to both an achievement and a skill style?
