Great solution, thank you! Could be improved a bit:

1. It would be FAR more useful to have 1000 storage slots for stacking up to 200 items/slot, rather than 500 slots for 1000-stacks. Speaking with other housers, very few (if any) of us actually stack up to 1000 of any one item. But 100-200, certainly.

2. Could we please be able to "Stow" furnishings from inventory just like Craft Bag ingredients, without having to go into a house / place this item?

3. Minor, but wish it did not have the housing UI icons on the front. It takes us out of the game world and make it less usable as a decorative element.

Does the collectible properly become unavailable if it is switched off? Does functionality return to normal when it is switched back on?

I can't find any way to turn it off/on, and I think it's intended to always be on so you can Retrieve To it even with none active.

Do the items stored within the Vault persist when the Vault is unavailable and are accessible again once the Vault is accessible again?

Haven't had any problems with that.

Would be good to reemphasize that the stack size is beyond 1000--like the Craft Bag.

The Vault will help at the margins to make inventory more manageable, but it's not something that will mean much to people barely into housing, and 500 isn't much for housing veterans.

If the major constraint is the total number of furnishings that can be accessed through the Editor, then I'd recommend adding additional "cold-storage vaults" that can store additional furnishings but aren't dynamic with the Editor. So you could only have one active vault, but up to say, nine, additional cold-storage vaults, and you could designate which one is currently active. You could sell additional Vaults similar to the Armory Station, maybe even having a Vault Assistant to help manage which one is active. Another feasible path would be to have a designated cold-storage house that holds all the vaults.

I feel like this should be paired with a robust furnishing recycling system to help clean up excessive unwanted furnishings that are cluttering up the database. People can pick their 5000 favorite furnishings and scrap the rest. This would ensure all furnishings feel more like a reward instead of a chore and would be quite future-proofed.

With the Craft Bag and now Vault allowing for near-infinite stack sizes, and with incremental database load as a concern, I'd hope that inventory stack sizes are revisited. Ultimately, it may be the right technical/performance decision to remove stack sizes entirely for items that stack at all. That would be a big game changer! Otherwise, just limited to like 1000 would accomplish a lot. It's been a long-standing concern that the guild traders aren't very functional because of arbitrarily small inventory stack size limits.

Completely agree with you @MoonPile considering how many different furnishing items there are in each category in the game it would be much better to be able to store more of a variety of items in smaller stacks than just 500 different furnishings in such a large stack of 1,000.

In the pics below, from the ESO Fashions website, the numbers beside each category lists the number of different named items in the game. For instance, under 'Conservatory' alone, there are 931 different named furnishing items in the game. And so on for each category. Not saying anyone in the game would own every named item in each category but I seriously doubt any one person owns 1,000 of any one named furnishing item.

I'd just like to say thanks for adding this, in whatever form it eventually takes. My bank space is absolutely choked with surplus furnishings and it'll really help me.

This is the superior solution. As it is now, it does not entice me enough to continue subbing. I have well over 500 furnishings stashed away between a few manors. Even a bump to 750 is ideal.

One feature I would love to have added would be the ability to deconstruct furnishings you have made, and are not using, to get some of the materials back. I think a big reason that most have storage houses is that when we craft pieces of furnishings and we either decide not to use that piece or we remodel a house, we don't get rid of it because furnishing mats can get expensive and we might need those pieces in a future build. Being able to deconstruct pieces to say get some of the heartwood or mundane runes back would be worth not trying to find a place to store the furnishings. That person would then have the option to use the mats to craft other furnishings or sell those mats.
