Does German really sound that foreign to you non-germanspeakers?

I personally don't like most of the voices of the NPC's in ESO, when I heard the German voice it felt as if they were more into it than the regular voice cast.
Most of the NPC's seem like they just read the text from a piece of paper, did not put much emotion into it.
There are some exceptions, I am just very bad at remembering names.

My point was it instantly sounds Non-english to me, yes you can detect whether it's a European or Asian language (usually), but it doesn't sound like anything I understand. Thus it sounds foreign.Actually it doesnt. If I hear someone speak french, I know its french. Same goes for all the Norse- and Latinbased languages.AlexDougherty wrote: »Yes, just as French sounds foreign to non-french speakers, Chinese sounds foreign to non-chinese speakers, etc.
If I hear Chinese, I know its Asian language.

You should learn one, its actually a lot of fun to learn a new language. I speak 4 languages and I´m trying to decide what the fifth will be
Oh, and the amount of forums to spam in instantly doubles with another language ^^
