This is just another topic about the same issue as always. But now, I want to share more about something we all already know.
But before all of this, I have one question for the developers of ESO:Do you even play the game you develop these days? Yes? Then what do you think about the multiplayer experience? Is it fun? Ah, you don’t play it either… okay, I truly understand you.
Now, let’s get to the point:
Every time someone comes to the forum to express their frustration about certain issues, like:
- "I can’t get the skill point from a quest" (because they run to boss, and I can’t even understand what I need to do or complete my quest.)
- "They’re gatekeeping my build."
- "They kick me out because of my low DPS."
- And so on…
The replies on the forum are always the same: “Create your own group.”
And I did just that. Even better, I recorded videos of my great experience in ESO as a new player. (Yeah, like I mentioned in another topic, I bought a new account, etc.)
As a new player:
- Other players don’t respect my quests in dungeons.
- I can’t join groups because I’m low CP.
- When I create my own group, this is what happens: people leave, or they ask others to leave.
And now… we even need Discord to play the game!
How amazing this game is for new players! They’re being gatekept because of their build, because of CP, and now… because they don’t have Discord!
I really want to show you all the amazing videos I recorded with my new account to highlight how bad this game is for new players. But guess what? I can’t even post an ESO video on the ESO forum. Why? Because of the rules—I’d get banned and gatekept from the forum too.
Isn’t that just great? xD
@You_know_this_is_meant_for_you.I know you invited me to your guild, and we even talked a little. I’ll definitely return to your guild for sure. But right now, making all these videos is more fun.
If the developers don’t do anything to change the game, I really hope my YouTube videos make even a small difference for all the new players coming into ESO. I hope they think twice before buying the game. Because the truth is simple:
ESO in PvE? It’s okay—no challenge at all. Just doing quests and killing some zombies.
But the multiplayer part!? Oh, damn…
Let me prepare for the future, please. Do I need one Telegram account, or should I share my Facebook too?

Also being new… you’re not supposed to jump into end game. You’re supposed to be questing and LEVELING UP. Low CP shows others you often have less experience. Why would I want to just carry you especially seeing you don’t have optimal gear. Optimal gear BTW has different “tiers” so to speak. You can make great builds without trial gear that will benefit not only your DPS, but the group in general.
The only one gatekeeping is your inability to accept being new and learning it would seem. It’s not gatekeeping to not want a low CP, under experienced, and under geared player in my run.
Join a new player guild and do dungeon runs with others who need the quest- otherwise it’s generally just an experience run for most players.
Are you the Arcanist, almost CP 2000, carrying me right now? Then please, take the dome and interrupt the boss.

First of all, You must join "decent guild" for "build" learning. They have discord chat tool mostly.
Second, newbie should not use random grouping. Use grouping tools or do it with guild member.
Third, DLC contents main quest will give you skill point. Or go delve of non DLC zone to get skyshard.
Regardless newbie or high CP, people will kick bad DPS if group are doing end-contents or some
high damage requiring mission(as some mech).
But part of agree, I hate everything "meta-build" of ESO combat as long term player of this game.
It's a ancient game design, not contemporary combat game.
Should I ask the lead this time to just kick them all? This is vRG (NO-HM), very, very end-game content and extremely hard.
...Oh my god. Are they all tank build?

Then again, they're actually new and interested in learning and progressing and starting from the beginning; not attempting to jump into end-game content while brand new in order to stir up trouble to make a point on the forums. So perhaps that leads to a bit of a different reaction, idk.
vKA = end-game oO? vTrials? vDungeons????
Tell me more pleaseOf course, they all know I'm making these videos to post on the forum. Does that really make sense to you?valenwood_vegan wrote: »"...Not attempting to jump into end-game content as a brand-new player just to stir up trouble and make a point on the forums. ..."
Wait , hang on. You are cp 181 , a new player, and want to jump into vKA and refuse to be in discord where people can communicate ? I think I can see why people might not have brought you along.
Also, the cp 200 players that you see clearing DLC vet trials are more than probably console transfers.
If you know the mechanics, have cleared it before , and provide a parse in sure guilds well take you along. But you also can’t really blame them for not bringing you if the raid wasn’t meant to be a prog.
Do you have a cmx of what you currently parse ?
Finally, I think if you can get to like cp 500( which shouldn’t take long) people will stop caring as long as you have good dps and know mechanics.
The OP is not a new player. They have a new account (they wrote it the opening post). But they say that their experience is the same as a new player would have (with which I disagree). A truly new lvl 181 player most likely would not be in vKA and would not have all the perfected gear and mythics that the OP said they already collected.
I created this group only for vet content. I can definitely do them!
If you're going to tell me I need CP to play this content, then this topic is 100% about you too.
P.S. I already have all my perfect gear farmed and all the mystics I need. I even link them when I have to.
Discord is actually very important - especially for PUGs so you can hear the call outs from the raid lead. There are often multiple strats for trials depending on the competency of the group so just because you've cleared it with other groups doesn't mean that you know what this group will do.1. You are not a new player. Genuine new players are extremely unlikely to be ready for certain content at that CP and will have neither the experience nor equipment to pull their own weight.
2. There is making your own group and there is making your own group. You appear to be inviting randoms which isn't really different from solo queuing for a random dungeon. Maybe spend some time getting to know people in a guild or other community connected to the game. Then try to make a group from among those people, who ideally should now know a little bit about you and have an idea that you can play the game and will communicate and work with them.
- No one kicked me for having low or high CP—I was kicked simply for not having Discord.
