Basically no lag in Cyrodiil with the new campaign

As the title says there's no lag in Cyrodiil right now on my end and it feels nice to play, everyone has the sames stats and everything, it's actually fun to play like this, I know this is just a test but with some changes it could be up to something. Changes would need to be being able to use stamina skills and give some utility skills to classes like Sorcerer.

Not only was the lag way better for me, but I was in a fight involving well over 100 players and the moment it ended... I was out of combat immediately and able to mount up and ride to the next one. Or maybe it was all a dream.

But in all seriousness, the mode needs a lot of balancing and polishing but in terms of what this test was meant to test, it seems promising so far.

Of cause there is no lag, there are only limited siege weapons and no dots.

But the gameplay is incredible monotone, just bigger zerg wins.

Being able to mount as soon as I killed the other player was so refreshing. Being unable to put down siege because the keep was "Over the siege limit" was pleasing as well.

I haven't been in yet, but comments like these are giving me hope for when I check this out later.

The main problem I had during the PTS test was not being able to do much in the way of solo PvE activity on my two mains, such as trying to flip resources for missions. There just didn't seem to be any decent damage skills for my StamSorc to use. I'm hoping this live test isn't a repeat of the same limited sets of class skills as were in the PTS test.

Not a ton of lag. I've had 2 crashes already. Performance otherwise feels nice - no combat bug!

    Combat feels a little stale.

I was in during the first hour, and there was probably 300 players near ash because a EP scroll was there. I was dipping into 40fps, but the game was still responsive. No lag at all. There was also a bridge fight near alessia where there was over 200 players and there was 0 frame drops and 0 lag even though there were so many players stacked on each other with a lot of skills going off and max siege on both ends of the bridge all the while it was being destroyed. Best part is that even if you got into combat, you taken out of it within 5 seconds of no activity even if there's hundreds of players next to you fighting.

The test so far is going great, so here's hoping they can easily add more to test 2.

How should there be lags, when no calculations are made?
Cps, sets, dots, passives etc is all deactivated.
It's just gathering some hundred players on one place. Not sure, what they expect with that testing.

    This tbh ^

Remove unique outfits and give everyone a standard horse and performance will be even better.

They should honestly just do that, give everyone the same outfit in cyro like a alliance war outfit etc and there will be so much less to be calculated constantly - the performance would be improved.

I find this pvp in the test campaign so boring, just zerging for the win.

OK the up side is this feels awesome to play in big fights, reminds me of the first month of ESO back in 2014, really feels like an alliance war.

The downside is it's a numbers game, as currently balanced.

But I think this could be made to work if designed intelligently.

I'm optimistic about this, I'm hoping a more fleshed out version that can still retain the performance characteristics. Might make me wanna PvP again.

the trick is to remove it all and add it back one item at a time until you find the culprit, if there is one. seems like they have a good strategy going.

I believe the point is to start adding things back in one by one. When the performance issues return they can then point to said thing and maybe that's the issue. They're performing diagnostics. Now I'm no computer programmer, I'm just a dirty tractor trailer mechanic but I do similar things when trying to figure out electrical issues as well as other problems. It's starting at the beginning with the easiest stuff and moving on. It's smart.

Had no lag at all as well.

But i think they should have kept the skills from original class trees. Even the Soul Tether has target cap and it is not fun. But as others said, i believe they will keep adding things to the campaign and test again.

I did not played in April 2014 but i think Cyrodiil was like this back then.

Transparency up-front: I don't PvP aside from very sporadic trips to Cyrodiil for endeavors or events, but I'm going to pretty much agree with the OP. The Vengeance Campaign was running very smoothly and it was really nice to just jump in and storm keeps (or get stormed) without having to worry about build, skills, or gear. If I have one complaint about it (other than the game CTD'ing in the middle of a siege), it's seeing forward camps which were unusable. I'm not sure why that was the case, but I had to respawn in a rear area a few times because of it. Other than that, I've been having a glorious time with it.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.

As a console player I can't join in, but would like to ask PC PvE players whether this has had any effect on the lag in the rest of Tamriel especially high particle effect areas like boss fights in trials.

I love the permanently reusable siege. Sure, it's just the basic stuff, but everyone having camps and siege all the time and not really having to worry about picking it up is kinda fantastic.

Reminded me of the early days of ESO Alliance war. Massive battles, No CP, No Proc.

No lag on my end, and no lag complaints in chat.

Keep in mind that the new campaign was designed as a performance evaluation, not a final product in terms of gameplay and customization.

It's like a proof of concept to see if the idea works and what its limitations are before they invest more effort into it.

Well if you remove everyting the lag obviously disappear. The only ting remaining is to remove the players and the map lol
Still it was fun to return in Cyro to complete the golden pursuit.

I crashed three times so I’m done. Queue is over 200 and I am not waiting through that.

All the statements above on improvements I agree - but more crashes in a day than I usually get in a week is not better.

The Alliance Rider outfit should do and the Alliance Horse, it just seems weird that the soldiers are not wearing a uniform.

Honestly if you are crashing with how things are right now it sounds like an issue with your set up

First time I’ve crashed in days was today. I at best crash once per week. If you’d like to diagnose my rig please go ahead and provide suggestions. Thank you for your support.

I haven't figured it out yet. But not sure i want to. I couldn't even farm a bugloss I found.

Edit: i love the idea of vengeance. I want it to succeed. I just don't want to sacrifice the parts of eso that I love like farming mats.

So far. The best thing I can liken it to is starting a new class. You have to learn a lot, but that's fun. I can't wait to spend a Saturday in there
