It's shocking ZOS doesn't just update the few dungeon quests that can break by editing them so each step autocompletes like in all DLC dungeons.
I'm sure this comes up often enough

Yup.
And it always ends the same way:
- Some people complain about speedrunners in dungeons
- Some people complain about people who take the time to do the quest
My personal solution: both sides should join a guild, a Discord or any group of players who wanna play the same way. Or go through group finder.
Playing in PUG implies to meet people who may not have the same expectations than us. That’s it. And there will never be any perfect solution for this.

Why has this not been addressed? I stick through the rest of the dungeons I waste my time, I quit out I get que penalized wasting my time.. I am punished purely for the actions of others. I feel like there should be a way to report this behavior, since often enough people flat out ignore people who are either under-leveled or state they need the quest in chat. 10 years on and ZOS has never addressed it, so I'm not holding my breath for them fixing dungeons that can be quest broken by skipping.

ZoS should really do something to prevent this kind of "speed run." Skipping monsters and rushing straight to the boss isn’t a real speed run—it’s just crazy. New players don’t even get the chance to understand what’s happening.
At the very least, normal dungeons should have barriers that only open once all trash mobs are defeated. But I guess this is exactly what ZoS expects from Elder Scrolls—one player rushing to the boss, another trying to fight something, and two more completely lost, wondering what kind of game this is.
The forums are full of posts about this, yet nothing changes, and nothing will be done. This is ESO: Play the way you want, because everyone else does too.
Why has this not been addressed?

It won’t happen because players will just complain about how many times they’ve done these dungeons and how tired they are of them. ZoS doesn’t fix this, and won’t, just because of all the whining.
edit:
I'll tell you more, if new players start making too much noise about this, ZoS will probably just hand out the skill point as soon as they enter the dungeon for the first time. That way, they can avoid all the veteran player whining.
But this really needs to change. On my new account, I have to ask, "Please, can I do the quest to get my skill point?" Then, I have to rely on the goodwill of others. They’re the ones who decide whether I get my skill point or not.
That’s so much fun in a game, isn’t it?

I've had a lot of really fun random groups who did quests, but yeah you get players like that who just rush through. If they aren't watching chat, some don't realise. I hate that just one player is needed to pull a group through a dungeon, if it was at least the majority of the group then it wouldn't reward the most impatient as it does now.Hypertionb14_ESO wrote: »I'm sure this comes up often enough, but I am extremely annoyed by this last group. The simplest solution is finding like-minded people, either via zone or guild. Most people using the dungeon finder are going for a daily random normal for the experience alone.
While some groups will wait for quests, some don't even see the chat until the final "tyfg".
It's unfortunately one of the consequences to PuG.
