The Whitestrake event is the catalyst that could propel ESO into a new era. A Monthly Event

It's been three days since the PvP event started, and I already wish the event had ended three days ago. Terrible gameplay!! Cyrodiil isn't fun at all(town dailies are ok), the new BG's are terrible and a hell to play and get rewards from, and the IC is just a punishment to play.

Hate getting the tickets in these areas, and hate getting my time wasted like this.

PS: Normally this PvP event is fun for the first few days, for some reason it isn't now!

If you want to have some fun trolling people, get yourself a good PVP-tested block tank build (and 2-3 friends running them as well) and maybe a few gankers or bombers to follow you, and go troll the people who are just setting up to gank/harass questers in the quest towns. I had a ton of fun doing this last night for at least a couple of hours before we summoned the entire red server to deal with us lol

Here's the fun part about making this event more often - then it's less special, and you won't get people grinding it out, which means you'll have only the PvP regulars in it, which means it'll be the same as it always was.

Exactly. One of the guilds I'm in has been running a lot of PvP events because of mayhem and the golden pursuit. I've been participating in a lot of them to complete some of the IC and Cyrodiil achievements on my list (ones that don't involve killing other players), and also for the event tickets. I'm not participating because I want to PvP. So if they ran a PvP event a lot, it would just mean I'd finish my list faster and never enter those two zones again, except to do PvE stuff. Not to PvP.

Running around taking keeps and mowing down players in other factions just doesn't do it for me. I find myself checking the time to see how much longer until the event ends. But everyone's different. I actually like IC better - not for the PvP, but because it's a lot like a PvE zone most of the time.

I guess I'm the only one who thought he was having a laugh and being sarcastic?

This event is fun. Got me in IC, Cyro and BGs. As a returning player, I miss 4v4v4. I liked those when they came out. Ive been having fun though. Enough fun that I'm crafting some of that pvp gear people keep arguing about. May even look at a guide. Idk. I don't mind dying till I figure something out, but I am an old raider type so it's no different.

The flaw with this argument is the engagement may only LOOK high.

But it's more than likely that 60-75% of the players joining in these campaigns are simply PvE players looking for pursuits tickets. If you remove those aspects I imagine engagement in the event would likely tank.

After all every year Midyear Mayhem happens it's filled with players bemoaning the existence of an event that forces them into PvP zones. So yes while I'm glad you are excited for a PvP community the reality is there is probably still the same amount of PvP players doing actual PvP during this event while many others are simply not interested and are only doing it because they want a cute siege ram to bash their rocks for them.

Fwiw, I suspect you're closer with your initial guess of 60-75% of the increase being PVE'ers as opposed to your second estimate that is the same amount of PvP'ers engaging as normal. I still support your conclusion either way, but I say this because there are players who do both (like me) and will focus more on PvP because of the event, and players who play multiple games and might be more likely to choose ESO during the PvP event. So I suspect there is some valid increased PvP activity but not as much as it may seem just by looking at characters waiting around and the queues.
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.
