[Request] I want vampire skin disable switch for nicer character appearance seriously

I'm tired of searching for hiding skin of ridiculous looking vampire appearance.
Especially for beast race.

I want to keep my Argonian's beautiful scale texture seriously.
My playing time Mon-Friday UTC13:00-16:00 [PC-NA] CP over2000 now.
I have [1Tough tank] [1StamSorc-DD] [1Necro-DD] [1Real Healer]
with [1Stam Blade].
But, I'm Tank main player. Recently I'm doing Healer.

By the way...Dungeon-Meshi(One of Famous Japanese fantasy story comic book) got finale...
Good-bye "King of Monster Eater".

Farewell Atsuko Tanaka...(-_-) I never forget epic acting for major Motoko Kusanagi.

Yes please! For Khajiit as well! I want my Khajiit's colors and markings to remain untouched (bleaching their fur makes absolutely NO SENSE) with glowing red eyes to show their vampirism. Really wish they'd actually overhaul the vampire textures (they're VERY dated and rather horrible looking). Make them look more appealing (not weird eyes and horrible skin with popping veins). Just give us paler skin (not to where you glow in the dark) with SUBTLE veins and glowing red eyes (like in the Greymoor trailer). Also, please give our man and mer vampires FANGS! Even in the older games (Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim) vampires had fangs...

I know that in other games Khajiit turn white too but it really doesn’t make sense… fur is hair, not skin. The color mask should only apply to the paws, ears, and nose. Maybe a very slight pale mask over the fur but not like this.

The vampire effect could really do with an update. Like it shouldn't go over body markings fading them, that doesn't make sense.

How it also fades argonians and khajiit is completely illogical too, although some people might like that effect for their characters. Which is why some options would be nice as some skin or just change to the vampire feature. Like an illusion look that hides most of the vampirism, this would also be nice if someone wants to roleplay and imagine their vampire is of the Cyrodiilic strain. Speaking of, gettting more appearances to look to be of different strains would be nice for roleplaying, such as the blending in Cyrodiil one, Volkiharn and others.

Remember when they changed how vampirism was going to work, that we now need to feed to grow stronger as Lamae mentions, there was also a plan that got scrapped to change the look of vampirism to match the change. Making it look more full of blood instead of lacking of it. Adding that as an option would be nice too.

I have two vampires and I roleplay neither of them to be of Lamae's strain. One gained vampirism from the Cyrodiilic Order and the other is a khajiit who worships Sangiin and neither fit to have that look vampirism gives.

[Lie] Of course! I don't even worship Daedra!

Yeah, I was hoping with the switch (more powerful when well-fed) the appearance would match (well-fed looking less zombie-like). I'd love different strains of vampirism as well! It'd honestly make sense seeing as how we travel all over Tamriel we'd come into contact with various vampiric strains. Each with different rituals in order to become a vampire. Maybe be able to join certain covens with different benefits (similar to Morrowind). I'm just not a fan of Lamae's strain...because I'm not really a fan of Mother Lamae (I think the ritual is rather lame as well). I'd rather become a pureblood vampire (like Lamae as well as the Volkihar clan) through Molag Bal himself. It wouldn't be game breaking (lore-wise) because the game only recognizes one vestige (which is another reason I don't get why we can't have Shadowmere as a mount, but I digress). I was hoping they'd do MUCH more with the vampires in Greymoor.

Hmm, true. But maybe they could tweak it or something like when you get sent to his realm (after you're sacrificed) you become a pureblood vampire through that somehow.

I use that one my khajiit vampire, because it fits the character but it's not exactly subtle, especially since it also goes on the face. A skin that adds nothing and just hides vampirism, would be nice. Vampires use illusion to hide their vampirism in lore all the time.

Honestly say, vampire appearance looks like too much funny rather than horror effect.
Especially stage 4. It looks like Joker of Batman comic character or walking dead zombies.

No thanks. Please make it nicer and cooler.

Though I don't play as a vampire any more, as an old Skyrim player, it would be great to become a vampire without physically showing you are a vampire other than your eyes — which is kinda mandatory having the “hungry eyes” visible unless you reskin.

The vast majority of skins are as ugly as vampire appearance, most make your character look an 80 years old man/lady in a blink!

Vampires in game can hide their appearance as per Verandis' dialogue in Markarth so why can't PC Vampires? I would even accept that you can only hide Vampiric Appearance if you are Stage 3 or lower but please add this toggle. Werewolves can hide what they are. Seriously, my Khajiit was sleek then one bite later he looked like a desiccated corpse. NPC Vamps don't look like that.

Hmm, true (although it wasn't bad for the men) lol. But maybe they could tweak it or something like when you get sent to his realm (after you're sacrificed) you become a pureblood vampire through that somehow.

In The Elder Scrolls lore, specifically within Skyrim's Dawnguard DLC, the process of becoming a pure-blooded Vampire Lord through Molag Bal is not determined by gender. The fundamental aspect of the transformation is enduring the Daedric Prince’s ritual, which is described as an act of defilement. Survival of this process is the determining factor of worthiness.

Traditionally, females are "offered" to Molag Bal on his summoning day, whether they consent to it or not. This is a long-standing practice associated with his worship. In contrast, males who seek to become pure-blooded vampires must willingly subject themselves to the ritual. However, regardless of gender, the transformation requires enduring Molag Bal’s influence, and only those who survive are deemed strong enough to receive his "gift."

Serana’s reference to the "wholesome family activity" implies that she, her mother Valerica, and her father Harkon all underwent this ritual together. Each member of the family had to endure the same trial, and failure to survive would mean being deemed unworthy. This explains why pureblood vampires are exceptionally rare—few individuals can endure the ordeal and emerge as true Vampire Lords.

I find it very subtle on argonians. All it really does it make the scales white, which is great since there's no other way to have a white argonian. It removes some paint around the eyes I think which is unneeded, but everything else looks fine.

This pic is stage 3. Stage 4 is pure white, but too many veins around the eyes to be likable without a helmet. Not much benefits to go stage 4 though, so not an issue.

I haven't played Skyrim for a while so I thought Harkon just had to sacrifice (a thousand I think) people (as well as offer up his wife and daughter) to Molag Bal rather than having to actually go through the 'ritual' himself, but guess I was wrong. I'd just prefer to be a Pureblood Vampire (even a Vampire Lord) over a Blood Scion (Vampire Lord wannabe). Vampire Lord is superior by FAR (especially Purebloods). Blood Scion seems weak (both gameplay and lore-wise). It'd just be nice if there were different vampire strains to choose from in this game for those of us to don't care for Lamae's strain but still want vampirism.

Khajiit and Argonian have problem of vampire skin. The base color texture go totally white mono tone.

For the longest time, I thought "Take that Vampires! If you're gonna get that easy/massive Undeath bonus, you need to be ugly to compensate."

Now I'm just over it. Even after the nerf, those that go Vamp in PvP do it for a single Passive or at most two if they go Stage 4. Wrecking their look and requiring a Skin is just silly, particularly since so few if any Skins don't trainwreck your character's appearance just as badly in a different direction.

I just don't care anymore. Let Vamps look how they want, in either direction. Those that enjoy being Vampires in RP or immersion can do it up, those that just want their knight/Khajiit/Mer/whatever to have some damage reduction at low Hps can keep their look, too.

    Make it a toggle already.

This skin also comes around yearly I believe

skins are probably going to be in crates. some skins are only 40 gems. a very few are in game, like the ice crystal skin, but that one does not let the character look 'normal'

The upside is - you only need 1 skin you like and all characters on the account are covered if you want them to be vampires.

They are clearly vampiric with pale skin and red eyes. Think the only time we don't see Verandis looking like a vampire is early on in his first quest, maybe one more, which is him using illusion to hide it like many other vampires. It's not going on and off in when he's in combat.

All npc vampires are given one specific level of vampire for their appearance not several and they don't run around feeding with us, so of course they don't go up and down in levels like players do. Some vampire npcs get the look of stage 1, others 2 and so on.
Only time it would change is through some story event, like the one Erickson mentioned.

Don't recall if any use 4, but that's likely because it looks bad so they don't give it npcs. Same way they remove hip flaps for some npcs and give them hair colours we don't and so on.

Still doesn't change that in Elder Scrolls so doesn't vampire looks go on and off in combat like it was Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I think Vampires should only look like Vampires when they are in combat. The rest of the time they should look normal. Just like "real" Vampires.

Vampires aren't real though, they should work as they do in the setting, which is Elder Scrolls and there vampires doesn't work like that. The appearance depend on strain of the disease, and if someone uses illusion to hide their vampirism.

I've never seen an NPC Vampire, such as Count Verandis Ravenwatch or Fennorian, go through various stages of ugliness appearance like player characters do. They just have red eyes and that's it.

We don't really see NPC's go through multiple stages of Vampirism though.

Even when it might occur, they tend to go off screen to feed and come back with their usual stage refreshed.

We have seen some later stage Vampires, notably Bloodfiends, which have their pale skin along with their red eyes (Some more sane late stage Vampires include Lady Essenia)

The large point is that most vampire NPCs, are often using illusory magic that hides their vampiric appearance which tones it down a lot. Which is something that players should be able to access given how prominent it seems to be (I.e. Every vampire NPC that isn't directly hostile or notably obviously a vampire seems capable of such a feat)
