Edited to add: there’s an old thread called “PSA - New Arctic Rime skin hides vampirism!!!” You can find searching in Google that shows a lot of before and after pictures. I can’t remember how to link threads.

I have that skin as well, don't like it honestly as it hides most of the textures, details, and colors as well. Bottom line is; we shouldn't HAVE to use a skin. Give us a toggle on/off option (like they do EVERYTHING else). I rather they update/overhaul the vampire appearance and give us the toggle until they can work on overhauling their appearance.
Also, you just HAD to show Twilight...lol. The lamest 'vampires' in the history of films or books...
Then again, seeing as how our vampires don't burn in the sun and also lack fangs, they're closer than I thought...THANK GOD they don't SPARKLE...lol

Until the new Sparkle skin comes out! (Honestly, I don’t know if one is in the works or not, I’m just guessing there might be at some point based on everything else we have!) ✨

How about this...
Vampires can hide their appearance unless they are detected by another PC/NPC
In towns detection is increased by 60%
Once detected the Vampire becomes full PVP/Full loot
That way Vampires get to hide their appearance but it comes with consequences which this game sorely lacks.

Somehow, I just don't see that happening (thankfully). Besides, you can already use skins to hide vampirism with no consequences...this would be no different. Just a nice toggle on/off option for vampires (which is lore-friendly). The option wouldn't hurt anyone if it was added, lol. Maybe vampires should be able to feed on other players (open world) in order to kill and loot them.

EXACTLY!!! We already have to slot a skill just to talk to merchants at Stage 4...
Meanwhile our carnivorous WW cousins get to stroll around with no detriments.
Not to mention all the mages dragging around daedric 'servants' blocking up all the shops and banks.
Vampires are the only ones with detriments to interactions and overall appearance.
Well, other than nightblade vampires with grim focus slotted.

Vampirism is supposed to be a curse, with consequences.
If appearance was supposed to be part of the 'consequences,' why can they use skins?

Their appearance is a curse. Skins aren't canon so NPCs don't react to the particular skin. It's just something for the player to enjoy. They can use them so that they don't have to look at their character's curse or to show an accomplishment or whatever.
Vampirism is supposed to be a curse, with consequences.
Plus, being 'well fed' was supposed to negate this issue to a certain degree. But, with Greymoor it kind of messed that up a bit...

Which is why the 'toggle' should still be doable...it'd be the same as using a skin...
Also, if you read excerpts about vampires in-game (journals/letters) they're described as looking beautiful (albeit pale, which only adds to their beauty in order to 'attract' prey), not monstrous. Which would either suggest an illusion to hide their more monstrous attributes/features or vampires are supposed to be attractive for the reasons listed above.

It has consequences.
Getting different looks for the badly done vampire overlay is not removing consequences, especially not in Elder Scrolls when almost every vampire uses illusion and stuff to hide their vampirism.Plus, being 'well fed' was supposed to negate this issue to a certain degree. But, with Greymoor it kind of messed that up a bit...
I feel like a broken record repeating this, but it is strictly a trait of the Cyrodiilic Order strain of vampires that are completely or close to capable of hide their vampirism through being well fed. Which players are not. Although the game's vampire appearance doesn't really fit Lamae's strain either.

Where does it say they are beautiful? There are different strains and they have different looks, weaknesses, and abilities, and state of feeding.

I said from various excerpts (via letters and journals) IN-GAME. There's a journal in Auridon Mage's Guild (Aluvus' Journal) that states he saw the most enchanting looking woman in a tavern "her skin so pale it almost seemed to glow, and her lips... her lips the most delicious ruby red" (the woman in question being a vampire). There's also letters in Rivenspire about a handsome pale man, who's also revealed to be a vampire. They relate to delves in their respective areas/zones (Ondil and Erokii Ruins). In those excerpts there was NO MENTION of popping veins, crazy eyes, ect.
Regardless this isn't really the point of OP's thread, they just want a toggle option. It doesn't hurt anyone if one is added. They're not asking for their consequences to be removed (reduced healing, greater skill cost, increased fire damage, ect). At the end of the day, it'd be no different from using a skin.

I don't think they ever fully explain or detail how the Lamae strain is supposed to look. Also, it was stated (by Lamae herself) others of their kin (same strain) are blending in with society. A wolf among the sheep. How are they able to do that with their current appearance? Answer; either illusion, being 'well-fed' or less monstrous than other varieties or strains.
Regardless, I feel they screwed that up with the addition of Greymoor (appearing more monstrous after feeding)...
