Xbox game sharing?

Apologies if this has been asked before.

My daughter wants to get into eso to be able to play with me. I have an account with all chapters and eso plus that I play on my own series X. I should mention I also upgraded to all digital when I upgraded cosoles. We recently got her a series S. I have her xbox set to my home and vice versa so she can play my games. I know she will need her own copies of dlc/chapters/eso+ if she really gets into the game. My question is, does the base game share between 2 different consoles in the same household without violating TOS? Thanks in advance!

Is ESO on XBOX Live? She might even be able to access it on there. It’s part of PS+, so I suspect Microsoft and ZOS might have made it available on their platform.

Having said that, I’ve also found copies of the base game for $5 or so. Might be safer to buy a new copy.

I don't know about sharing ESO specifically. I discovered that it's only free in GamePass Ultimate - the most expensive tier. I believe that you can't play a shared game on two separate consoles simultaneously, so if you had wanted to group up you'd need 2 copies of the game. There have been a few generous sales for base game + additional content, so it's worth checking regularly.

If you make your daughter's console your home console you can game share all games, but ESO is a little different. She will be able to play the base game only, no matter how many chapters you've purchased.

I've just checked and Elder Scrolls online is playable free with Game Pass Core, the basic version which you'd need anyway to play online games.

But you can purchase the DLC on any other accounts.

Interesting. Back in October when I cancelled my Ultimate and was forced to drop down to Core because MS had not yet released the redefined Standard tier, I lost ESO as a playable game completely and ended up buying it. I've been looking for a list of games currently included with each tier, but it seems to be impossible to find one without being subscribed to that specific tier.

If you scroll down you'll see a few of the games currently on Core and ESO is one of them. From experience these seem to be the base set of games with new ones added occasionally. I only have Core myself and my 2nd ESO account plays for free through Core.

The above is correct, also during holiday or other sales just buy one of the larger collectors editions that all include the base game on the child's account.

In December I just did that for my son but he's been able to play the base game for three years. Now that he's in highschool we went ahead and upgraded him

Well that's annoying. I wonder if they added it back in after the initial change to the new pricing scheme in October? Oh well - at least I got access to some more chapters out of it.

Thinking about it, my issue could also have been the way MS handles subscription changes between tiers, which is... not intuitive. (You can't just say "Change from X to Y"; you have to fully cancel and then do a new subscription.)
