The option to hide the annoying hip flaps would be the best thing ever and the only thing I'd ever need, since shoulder is now a thing; I'd even pay crowns for it. As far as being able to show tattoos, the Fatemirror Evening Wear plunge dress was an awesome addition to the game to be able to do so, but locking it behind 400 crown gems is ridiculous. I hope we get something similar in the future without the gem paywall. Full body tattoos are pointless, if you can never see them.

Does it usually take a while for a response now days?

How much effort and time does it take to say the idea is still being considered?

That dress that is full of texture errors, and as someone who make clothes on the regular, odd design?

I wish we got less body markings, so many feels spewed out just to be spewed out with little care about the designs. Quantity over quality. Like why are all full body nowadays even, why aren't we getting more like old ones that are just arms, or one arm etc. It's always the same random motifs mirrored on each side in similar patterns/on the same spots.
Additionally, a lot people who got tattoos everywhere in real life usually don't walk around in as little as possible to show those, they just dress normally and the tattoos peeks out here and there.

I don't understand the "we'd have people running around shirtless!" complaints.

We already have the Sandalwear costume and Wood Elf 1 medium, which are barely a step above that.

Even people going pantsless doesn't feel like a real problem, to me. ESO's graphics are only slightly better than a cartoon, and plenty of cartoon characters run around without pants. If someone wants to Donald Duck a veteran dungeon, so what?

Arguably it's less defense to wear thin pieces of garment, as you're wearing fuel for fire lol...

Edited for fear of causing division when we're mostly unified on this matter.

    Why?

Where exactly is the Immersion when someone in full plate appears to be Nude?
Specific items, sure. The shoulders, absolutely. Helmet, same. Getting rid of the tabard that hangs down between the legs, and the over sized hip armor would be fine.

    IMHO

The same immersion as when someone in full plate appears to be in an evening dress? Which is completely and totally doable right now. Just like this "Full plate" character can also appear to be running around in a bath towel or wearing cloth rags and sandals or a myriad of other "Not full plate" looks.

In terms of immersive designs, in this full plate can be pretending that they're a hardy Nord warrior who has trained in harsh conditions and is able to fight bare chested (Not unlike depctions of ancient Norse and Celtic warriors who battled in little, or even no clothes/armour to intimidate the enemy)

Or maybe something similar to a elite Redguard fighter, similar to Sai Sahan.

Maybe the person is a werewolf and so clothes make little sense since they'd be getting torn apart when they transform anyway.

    Heck, it's possible that with features like these it would open up more creative designs for armour like;

    - Long chest pieces that can function as a dress (Or double as a kilt/skirt).

    - Shoulder items that cover more of the chest (There's already stuff like the Assassin's League Epaulets and the Breton Epaulets 1/2 which cover a lot of the chest).

    - Boots that can cover much of the legs.

    - Etc.

Whereby these would go along with hiding other slots to make use of them and allow for much more interesting designs.

They said the same thing about weapon dyes as well. That also eventually happened.. much to ZOS’s credit! I was very critical of it not being a thing and when Gina Bruno ended up posting that weapon dye capability was in the works, on one of my threads way back when, I was so happy and I immediately shut the hell up with the criticism there! She responded to my thread within a day or so though, was a quick response but maybe that was due to her knowing it was definitely happening, where as here with the hide all armor pieces options that may not be a definitive feature we are getting.. Which makes me.. sad :(

    Hide hip flaps? Yes please.
ZOS could just add very minimal options for the other things and it would be fine. The standard underwear is very dull so I'd never want to hide everything.

If hide flaps was the only addition they made I’d be so happy, honestly I would be content with just that if I had to choose between 1 or all.

Or are spending a lot of time standing around and critiquing the outfits of every player that passes by.

Ok, so I sometimes do that, I'll admit it... but I'm not judgy about it. Unless I'm intentionally hanging out at a wayshrine people-watching for unique outfit style combinations or color pairings, I almost never notice whether another player in my group or in the world is wearing enough clothes of if they're wearing something not-lore-friendly.

[...ok, I do kind of judge Wood Elf-1-medium chest-piece wearers. But only a little. And that's a me problem.]

[...and not because it's basically just a bra. It's because the color blocking on it is weird and it always looks awkward.]

I know Zeni isn't blizzard, but [Blizzard] is famous for saying something won't ever happen and then it appears in an update. I remember them (again Blizzard) saying they would never make shoulders hideable because the artists making them would be offended...

I kinda doubt pants will be hideable though (because reasons).

I would be thrilled if we could just hide loincloths and tassets.

I'm playing around at the outfit station right now, and I just learned that the Ancient Elf Robe clips into itself. The loincloth on the top half of the robe clips into the skirt part on the lower half of the robe. It's a single piece of armor! How did this get through QA?

The more to hide , the merrier the outfit designers.
Why should I not be able to recreate the skimpy outfits of my male Khajiit from Daggerfall (the game)? They will become fashionable in Tamriel‘s future, anyway.

The option to hide additional equipment should definitely be implemented, because there are numerous NPCs, such as Lylanar and Turlassil, whose outfits look great without the visible chest. It would be great if this were possible in the near future.

I've asked for this several times. I hope it finally happens.

The main argument I see against this is people saying "my immersion".
Yeah cause people running around in polymorphs, bathing towels, or with literal one-of-a-kind daedric artifacts doesn't break your immersion already? Okay.

There are way too many good looking tattoo's and body markings that have come throughout the years for this to not have been implemented a long time ago; no point in body markings if I can barely show them off through the various scraps of armor that actually show any skin.

If I want to run around nude as the day I viewed my character model then so be it. At least I'll get to finally look at all the intricate tattoos that I've only seen 20% of before.

    100% yes absolutely.

We should be able to dress our characters like NPCs. It is an RPG after all. If NPC Bosmer run around with no gloves or footwear then players should be able to as well. If A hulking orc berserker can run around with no body armour then players should be able to role-play as such and do the same.

More player freedom is always a good thing. If people are concerned about everyone running around with no pants on then I'd be happy with leaving pants the way they are and just adding an option to hide all of the other gear items as a compromised.

WoW has had an option to hide everything for quite a long while, except chest and pants which were still minimum requirement for a while until recently-ish.

I feel like gloves / boots are a good start, along with belt as they often don't align correctly or stick out weirdly depending on what you have on for chest and pants.

So it'll always be a yes for me.
