WoW has had an option to hide everything for quite a long while, except chest and pants which were still minimum requirement for a while until recently-ish.
I feel like gloves / boots are a good start, along with belt as they often don't align correctly or stick out weirdly depending on what you have on for chest and pants.
So it'll always be a yes for me.

Honestly upon further consideration, someone mentioned that game only required pants. I think that could work to maintain the aesthetic of the game while still giving more freedom.

Seeing players fight in the wedding dress ruins my immersion and the game’s aesthetic, but doesn’t seem to bother anyone else until other players bring up wanting more customization options like hide armors or more diverse outfit options, then all the sudden you get players saying that would ruin the immersion and aesthetic as if fighting a war in a wedding dress or flowery bikini isn’t already possible lol, makes no sense to me.
