I don't see the problem you are describing at all. I have just rolled an alt a week ago after getting to v4 on my main and through to the 2nd zone I have sold off multiple stacks of materials of all kinds, after using a bunch already for my own use. That's not to say it doesn't exist. I just don't see it.

I could make screen shots or record it but they have this thing where they remove them for naming and shaming... apparently shaming a bot, a script... is not allowed.

It started recently i made the alt today and went on with leveling wondering why except runes, every ore/plant node i used to see was gone... they i saw a few vanishing from in front of me but nobody was harvesting them... after that i realized that the bots harvesting them were under the map. I have seen so many in the past 2 hours i logged out and will try to get a refund for my remaining 6 months as i just can`t take it if they want the bots they can have but not at the same time as us legit players.

I guess mileage varies by player. I have yet to have a harvesting node stolen from me. Of course, I am picky and only harvest what that character can use, inventory being what it is. So your blanket statement of "every legit player" is inaccurate.

Agreed. I have never seen a bot problem like this. But then again I've never seen a game so perfectly designed so as to leave itself so wide open either.

well, the source of the problem are those players that are buying from the gold sellers. How long do you think that we will see gold spammers in the game if nobody would buy from them? This is the basic market rule: as long as there will be people that are buying gold and stuff, we will have gold sellers. And considering the number of bots in the game, they have a big market here.

Anyway, I will not cancel my subscription for the next 6 months because I trust that Zenimax will find a decent solution to this problem.

Honestly, no - I have not seen nodes vanish in front of me. I am not saying it isn't happening. Only that the extent of the complaining may be exaggerated. The only reason so far I haven't gotten a node I saw was because I was less nimble than the other real person who got it before me.

First, if bots ruin your entire game, that is just .... sad. There are a TON of things to do in this game. Because they are in EVERY game in some degree. You'll never be able to play MMOs again with such an attitude (and I've played since EverQuest came out).

Yes they are frustrating. Yes they are annoying. They are NOT game breaking (meaning just because they grabbed that jute node before you doesn't mean you can't explore, quest, RP, chat, kill bosses, loot, etc). They aren't locking your main quest out for you. They aren't stopping you from doing a dungeon with other people.

These "fix bots now or I unsub" threads are just turning childish now, like stomping your feet cause you didn't get a candybar.

Second, here is an add-on that I use that has helped me get bots and pinpoint areas they are in for sending reports.

Here is an add-on that was suggested to me by another forum user.

I got it, and it works wonderfully.

If you haven't already, get the addon client used Minion: http://minion.mmoui.com/

Then you can search there for FastReport by thelegendaryof

Once you install that in Minion, go into TESO then go to settings. You'll need to set up the report key (I used F5 in the key bindings).

So when you hover over someone, it will save the last name you captured, even if they disappear quickly. Hitting the key you chose for the report will bring up two windows, as shown in the screenshot http://cdn.eso.mmoui.com/preview/pvw554.jpg

Highlight and CTRL + C the information on the left hand window into the report window on the right hand side, then fill in the rest of what you saw, making sure to click from the drop down menu.

You can`t stop the bots that are running scripts for everything by removing them manually... they need an automated system or things will get worse and worse, no way GM`s can delete characters faster than their automated system creates new ones....

I leveled really quickly and got to vet content before I saw a lot of the botting problems. I started an alt last week and oh boy is it bad. I've played MMO's for a long time and I've not seen the sheer audacity that these bots/scripts/hacks have. I don't believe that there is any inherent anti-cheat system in place, because I just see teleporting, flying, noclipping players all over the place in the lower levels. It's just nuts. I've seen tons of bots in games and all kinds of cheats through the years, but nothing this bad. There doesn't appear to be any system in place to look for abnormal speeds server side or altered game files locally. In the starter areas, just run around for a bit and look for resource nodes and watch them disappear before you can even click on them.

I don't even bother reporting them anymore, as it doesn't seem to be stemming the problem and it's a waste of my game time (I've reported hundreds to no avail). I do cause some havoc by getting them killed or just messing up their loop scripts, but they are just like weeds and keep coming back. ZOS just don't have the manpower to deal with them like an anti-cheat program can.

I am just sad because for the past 4 days every crate, barrel and chest I search is Empty =( oh and the bots can run faster than me...oh well

In the last few days I have noticed a lot more bots in the open world areas but, less now in dungeons. Guess they changed tactics since GM's were booting them out of dungeons.
And, yes I have had a node vanish on me many times. At least once a play session. Now, I don't know if this is from bots or another player in a different instance?
Honestly, for me the bots are ruining the game. It sucks to go into a quest area and find a10 bot train killing all the quest mobs over and over.
I spent 45 min a couple days ago killing 2 bots that were farming a jute node that was infinitely spawning. It was kinda futile cause they would just rez right back at same spot and keep farming! After about 20 mins of killing them another bot showed up that was almost totally underground with just his head sticking above ground. And, he was unkillable!
I'm really liking this game but, if the bot farming stays at this level I don't know how much longer I'm gonna stick around.

ok in regards to the people complaining about this affecting gear for crafting......deconstruct stuff constantly , you can level your crafts up enough to keep them in a generally good pace till you get to a not too heavy bot zone , the only ones that you wont be able to do this are enchanting , alchemy and provision (provision being super easy to lvl to begin with) , enchanting is the one that suffers the most here due to the need of the 3 types of runs , potency either being just about extremely rare to find when i can find the gold(legendary) quality type of rune almost consistantly , either the bots are getting all the potency runes or theres a lack of them spawning due to 3 diff types of runes. prob needs to redesign enchanting imo , but again just salvage gear constantly to lvl up your craft .

i remember those bots in Aion Drach , it was sorta crazy cause they would be just outside town farming regular mobs (nothing too special about them , some of them were actually quest mobs i believe) .

I didn't see many bots with my main char because I think I leveled up quite fast and quickly was ahead of the bots.
Now with my second char it is just a game killer. Throngs of bots everywhere in Deshaan and Shadowfen killing off mobs so fast that it has become a "get the quest - run through an empty area to get an item - run back through the again empty area to the quest giver - cross again the empty area to get to the boss (off course by then your ultimate has expired) - game in certain areas.

Aye, Aion was the last game I played that had these problems at launch. The gold spam was even worse in that game if I remember. Though with the bots and hacks, I've never seen anything like this in a game before. Even Warhammer Online had some kind of anti-cheat program (although it didn't work too well, better than nothing) that could catch speed hacks. I honestly believe that there is no system in place for this game to prevent alteration of game files, third party software interaction, etc, as it wouldn't be possible for them to teleport, noclip and levitate around to this extent if there was. I have no desire to try but I wonder if autohotkey works with this game...would not surprise me if it did.
