Now that I figured out how to disable the "frost draugr rune collection" one, the only one I really care about using is the gold road recall. Most of this sort of thing is just - fluff I haven't any need for.
That one is almost okay, except for the “beam me up” energy effect. If the character just faded it would be great.
I used the Gold Road recall and have never noticed this "beam me up" effect.
I mean it looks like the Star Trek transporter “energize” effect. The yellow beam that moves up the character’s body.

Honestly, I don't notice it. I see my character fade out and leave a pile of leaves, all elegant and understated. That's one of the reasons I like it--it's not flashy at all.

My point is, it is flashy if it is another character around you.

I understand that you find it flashy; I just wanted to clarify that it really doesn't look that way to me. I don't know if it's different graphic settings or just a different perspective, but it is interesting to me how someone sees something one way and another person a different way.

I think perhaps it does not show up for the player using it, or the perspective is such that they cannot see it. I’m not making it up.

I never thought you were making it up. It's possible your eyes are more sensitive to that kind of effect, or it could be an issue with graphic cards or settings. Back when people complained about the brightness of the gold road character select screen, I didn't have the same experience, because my screen never looked too bright or saturated or overly orange.
